I replied to a Craigslist ad for a home rental, and I was called the next day by Tim Brown claiming to be managing the rental. He claimed to be managing the rental through Rent To Own Authority and sent me to the CreditIQ site to run my credit and requested a screenshot of my credit. He also requested I put my info into their database. We corresponded via email, and the conversation seemed normal.

When I showed up to meet him at the rental home at the time, the home was occupied by the owner and not for rent. He did not show up and did not answer my calls. I know I have the correct number for him because the voicemail says his name.

When I emailed the "contact us" for Rent To Own Authority to complain about their employee, the email address bounced back. I submitted my info for the credit report and also on the database for the site. I am concerned my personal information is compromised.

I just got a voicemail from him, same name and same number. I also replied for a rental listing on Craigslist.. thankfully I didn't call back I wanted to google the # first,
