Paid $7,500 down payment for interlocking job in Richmond Hill, Ontario. After sending e-Transfer to Freddy Benito (assumed business owner) for the mandatory deposit for the job that was scheduled to be completed Nov 2020. After e-transfer was accepted no further communication from Mr. Benito caused raised suspicions. After contacting Mr. Benito on multiple occasions via email, call, text, fax, but no response from Mr. Benito has continued and it is now Feb 2021 and after multiple attempts to get a refund has resulted in a death threat towards myself. I contacted York Region Police and was told "if he [Mr. Freddy Benito] hasn't attempted to harm you, he probably won't." Which was all the YRP could do for me at the time. The money sent had been accepted and therefore there was no way to get my $7,500 back.
