I took the plunge after seeing some of the negative reviews here (and the positive reviews on SE Motors's site), and I have to say, either SE Motors has tightened some processes recently, or I got lucky. The experience has been fantastic, especially compared to wasting a Saturday at dealerships.
I was able to select the car and kick off the purchase process via the app in under 15 minutes. Funds verification occurred the next day, and was quick and painless. I did not have to deal with financing, and sold my older vehicle privately, so can't comment on those items.
The vehicle was delivered on time after being shipped to Denver from KC, and it was clean. Not quite dealership detail level (close), but I didn't expect that and don't particularly care. I will say that whatever carpet shampoo they use smells very strong for awhile. That smell has now faded, and it doesn't appear to have been masking anything. The mechanic who inspected the car for me said he'd buy it.
There was one small ding that occurred in transit across country, which the delivery guy pointed out and said SE Motors would pay to have fixed. Oh great, I thought, here we go with the Silver Rock shenanigans. But it was super painless. I took the car to a small shop I trust down the street, received an estimate, sent that to SE Motors. It was approved in a business day. The shop was paid for the repair directly by Silver Rock. As a bonus, because the fresh ding was in the same location as a larger *disclosed* blemish, both were fixed for free, so I'm actually thrilled with this.
The damage occurring in transit isn't ideal broadly (even though it benefited me), but looked at as a test of the process for dealing with this kind of thing, A+. It required almost no effort on my part. Easy, fast service, and a painless process. Registration arrived on time.
I will be recommending SE Motors to everyone I know who's in the market for a car. Based on my experience, it's really slick.
P.S. - message me for $500 referral discount codes. SE Motors provides a bunch of them post purchase to give out to friends (or people on Yelp). Only if you're definitely buying a car, please. I'll leave this posted until they're gone.
All offered excellent customer service, but finding exactly what I was looking for seemed challenging. After test driving a Lexus RX 350, a Volvo XC 60 and a Mercedes I decided to focus on the later. Still, I was looking for exactly the perfect vehicle. One that was well cared for, as well as had known long-term reliability. SE Motors Group made this process simple through there filter search. Each car coming with an easily accessible Carfax to review, complimented by there 150 point inspection process gave me enough confidence to give it a whirl. Thus far, I couldn't be happier. I found a perfect car for me. A 2011 Mercedes e350 Avant-garde 4Matic. Though I've only seen pictures of it, and doing my own homework prior to making the purchase, it looks like a beauty. This model has had zero recalls, steady maintenance history with two owner history, and has not been subjected to harsh winters.
I submitted the pre-appoval in two minutes and once I decided to proceed had all necessary approval paperwork in within 5. They even sent me a message "wow, you tech wizard." That evening I received confirmation that my financing terms were approved. The next day, January 26, I received confirmation the purchase was approved. The next day January 27 I received confirmation that: "We've got great news! Your 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has passed its final inspection with flying colors!" -SEMotors. Since I am an "out of market" delivery, SE Motors Group goes through a third-party delivery, which takes a couple days to assign. On th 29th I received a exciting text message, informing me that "We have great news! A carrier has been assigned and they are estimated to arrive between February 9/February 10." February 2, I received more tantalizing news in email and text; "We've reached the final stretch! Your 2011 Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been picked up by our third party carrier and is currently headed straight for your driveway!" Today is Monday February 5th, and I'm thrilled to think about the vehicle arriving at the end of the week. I enrolled in car insurance, which is set to begin February 10th, and ensured my AAA membership was up to date. In addition I researched a few ASE mechanics and described the sale and have prepared to take my Mercedes in within the first week for inspection, within SE Motors Group's "7 day Money back guarantee."
The vehicle comes with a 100 day/4189 mile Warranty. This affords quite a bit of confidence in the purchase process and intend to not only have it inspected within the first few days, but again near the end of the warranty. To supplement this warranty I considered Carshield, Carchex, and Endurance. Ultimately, I decided to compliment their warranty with a 5 year Endurance. This ensure's that there is no gap in my warranty coverage, since there is a minimum 60 day waiting period with 3rd party warranties.
I'm excited to get the next message, to coordinate delivery, and up to this point I am thoroughly not only satisfied with SE Motors Group, but genuinely pleased. Every conversation has been professional, fun, and respectful. One guy who called, even had purchased a Mercedes himself and detailed the plethora of options on the vehicle, as well as things to look out for, such as engine mounts. I called SE Motors Group to get more information on the new tires that would be coming with the vehicle and couldn't find out what kind they were, although one can hope they are Continental all season or Quatrac Pro Grand Tourings. One can hope. They did inform me that they had replaced the engine mounts, so thats one headache prevented.
Overall, I couldn't be happier with my "Used Car Dealer." I'll check back in within a a couple weeks and let you know how things are coming along, what the mechanic, one of the best in the country has to say about the vehicle; and my experience with the company after sale and receiving the vehicle. I've always admired Mr. Kawasaki, and little-known fact is he is not only a board member of SE Motors Group, he is a "brand ambassador" for Mercedes. For me this affords a greater sense of security, given the high quality customer service and innovative nature behind both companies. I'm looking forward to utilizing Mercedes mBrace system and complimented by MercedesMe. I'm confident I made the right decision not only when selecting this Mercedes, but also choosing SE Motors Group; "the new way to buy a car. Because buying a car shouldn't suck."
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have never had stellar credit, but not too long ago it wasn't too bad. A few years ago a family emergency cane up and I had a large expense. Since my credit wasn't great I made the mistake of taking out a title loan on a classic car I have.
Big mistake. The interest was 101% with all of the payment going to interest first. After two years of paying $1k month my balance hadn't lowered at all! If it were a traditional loan I would have paid it off twice! So, out of principal, I took a charge-off out of principal.
It was another big mistake. Now I'm in the market for a used car and no one is willing to give me a loan. It's ridiculous: I paid more money to that title loan than most people could handle, I have a good job at a construction company, and I even have a house that I own outright and collect rent from. Despite all this, getting a loan seemed near impossible.
SE Motors Group, however, was willing to work with me. They required a ton of documentation to verify funds (frustrating, but understandable in my case due to my poor credit), but it looks like I'm approved! I have not received the car yet. That will be in a few days, but I'm happy that they were willing to work with my situation.
I'm really grateful that they went the extra mile to make it work. Too often people with bad credit can't improve their situation because of the bad credit, but SE Motors Group is a savior.
I'm currently paying $1k of gas in my diesel truck every week! Getting this vehicle from SE Motors Group will actually save me money in the long run and help me rebuild my credit.
At this point it doesn't matter to me what the vehicle looks like when it arrives (although, I'm sure it will be in great condition), what matters to me was that SE Motors Group was willing to give me the opportunity and get in a gas saving car at the same time. Seriously, they are heaven-sent!
Plus, the reps on the phone were really nice/pleasant to talk to. I Recommend SE Motors Group over any pushy dealership any day.

This is the 3rd car I have bought from SE Motors, I have tried to buy locally, everything is over priced and higher miles, always end up back at SE Motors. I have learned by doing this, they do lower their vehicles every week. When I shop, I always keep my eye on a few and wait for the price to go down to what I want to pay for it, I will say once the price is right they go quick.
You can go to the car fax and see when they put it up for sale, if it was just inventoried you have some time most likely to wait.
But if you have a car in mind and it is unique, great rims, etc. They do sell quick.
I like most people felt a little reluctant to purchase a vehicle online. I'm 62 and found buying my cars through SE Motors the best Buying experience ever! Folks it's a very simple process, you just first need to know exactly what type of vehicle you want including all the options. Second know what that type of vehicle cost and is it within your price range? Third, do you due diligence on the the CarFax, your credit score to figure out what percentage rate to expect to pay etc, etc. The Truck I selected was much better than I expected, SE Motors did an excellent job working with me. I highly recommend them.
Very detailed pictures of every part of the car was a great way to really help in making an educated decision. Documents and clear instructions makes the process very easy.
I had concerns after taking possession of my new truck but they took the time to make it right! When you purchase a vehicle a lot of times it is the second most expensive investment that you will make in your life. It’s not just about the sale but the support that you receive afterward.
Never having purchased a car without first test-driving it before and at least talking about price, SE Motors was far from what I was planning to do. I had been bidding on cars remotely at auctions, searching the usual online sites, and was not finding what I was looking for. Looked all over the country and the price I was willing to pay just couldn't get me what I wanted. My wife then shows me the perfect vehicle at the right price. "There must be a catch!" I said. "There going to get us on the back end of this deal" I said. The price was as-advertised. The condition of the vehicle was exactly what I was hoping for inside, outside, and underneath.
The whole process was relatively painless and pretty smooth. The website made it easy to find exactly the car I wanted within my desired price range. The different teams I dealt with through the whole experience were very attentive and courteous. Andrew,the Automotive Specialist, was very quick to respond to all inquiries about the Volvo I wanted. He made sure any questions I had about the vehicle were answered and made the purchasing process quick. Took several days to get the car ready for shipment (a little longer than expected),
All in all, I'm VERY pleased with my purchase and the service I received from SE Motors. Not a fan of the whole buying process at dealerships in person - so buying a car online seems to be the way to go now!
The selling process was streamlined also. SE Motors didn't ask for an inspection (the photos sufficed, they said). They sent me a FedEx shipping label to overnight the title to them. The next business day, they wired they money to my bank account. I had my money, and they hadn't even picked up my car yet!
(They scheduled that a few days later and ultimately did, of course)
They shipped the car I bought, and picked up the car I sold to them at the same time - at no charge. No charge for the truck shipping. The car was beautiful when it arrived, and of course a few weeks later it's still beautiful.
I had seven days to make up my mind. If I'd have decided I didn't want the car I bought from them, they would have picked the car up at no charge.
They offered me more than any other company (I checked several) for my previous car, and I'm really happy with what I paid for the one I bought.
After this experience, I don't think I'll ever buy or sell to any other car dealership in the future.
HOWEVER...a warning for those of you who live in California and buy a car from SE Motors - the dreaded California DMV. Don't do what I did. It could have been SOOOOOO SIMPLE if I'd done it the right way. You'll need to get what's called a VIN verification. So I made an appointment with the DMV (which I didn't need to do as it turns out). I waited a month for that appointment. They had me fill out this and that, and I was there about 4 hours (even with an appointment). No matter what you tell those people at the DMV, they only hear what they want to hear.
As it turned out in the end, all I needed to do was to drive to the DMV and pull my car into the line for VIN inspections. It would have taken me ten minutes. You open the hood and wait for the guy to come over. He looks at your car, fills out a form and hands you the form. That form IS your VIN verification. No appointment. No fee. Simple.
Inside the DMV, even though I told them that all I needed was a VIN verification, they kept assuming I was trying to register the car - NO! SE Motors takes care of all that. So do not bother with an appointment, and do NOT even go inside the DMV. No need to.
Anyway, my thanks to SE Motors for such an enjoyable experience buying and selling my car.
I asked the individual who met me at SE Motors if they could do me the favor of checking the freon level in the air conditioner to make sure that it was sufficient. He explained to me that normally, they only work on vehicles owned by their company, which is an understandable rule. He did, however, offer to take my request up the management chain, and he did. The manager agreed to check the A/C and reported back that the freon level was fine but that A/C was over-taxed from its extended use. That turned out to be correct, since the A/C worked fine after giving the truck an hour to rest.
I report this incident because while the rule about only looking at their own vehicles is understandable, both of the persons I spoke with at SE Motors recognized that slavish adherence to rules is not always the best approach. I really appreciate that, and so do my sons.
I would like to add that this was not my only pleasant experience at SE Motors. They were not at all like most used car dealers, who frequently sound like snake oil salesmen and make you feel like you need a shower after you finish dealing with them. To the contrary, every single individual I spoke with - both on the phone prior to going to SE Motors and at the physical location - was courteous and professional.
I am also impressed that SE Motors conducts a thorough inspection of the vehicles they sell. They gave me an oil change, new tires, and filled up the car with a full tank of gas - something no "regular" used car dealer will do. Perhaps most important of all, I obtained a fair price on the car, and I had no problems at all driving it back down to McAllen.
So, I would highly recommend SE Motors to any person who is shopping for a good used car.

As a woman, I have had some pretty bad auto buying experience in the past. I was looking for a particular vehicle and found it online at SE Motors Group. I showed up at the dealership an hour before they close and I have to say WOW!. The showroom is a car enthusiast dream. I mean high end cars from Bentley, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Lamborghini etc. I was met by Don and introduced to Jay the Sales Manager and the Sales Team. I went out and test drove the car and love it. I did not have to negotiate the pricing at all. The price was perfect for the car I wanted. Vince (finance guy) was awesome. He went over the paperwork and explain everything in detail to me. By the time I walked out of his office, my car was ready. The car was washed and gas up. The whole process from start to finish was just amazing. I have never had a positive experience like this buying a car. It was as if I was part of the family and they treated me as such. The whole sales team (Don, Mark, Nicole, Vince and Jay) made me feel comfortable and I did not feel pressure at all. If you are looking for a car I would definitely recommend SE Motors Group.
SE Motors works hard to work around your schedule and put you in a better spot. I’d definitely recommend SE Motors if you want a hassle-free car buying experience.
From start to finish, every person I was in touch with at SE Motors was fantastic to work with. Never did I ever think that buying a pre-owned vehicle 100% over the internet would be a reasonable possibility.
But, here I stand, keys in hand, and very satisfied with my decision to give SE Motors a shot. I can’t say there were zero issues whatsoever throughout the transaction (and some of them were of my own making), but any that did arise we’re handled professionally and with a poise not often demonstrated by the typical car dealership. Bravo.
I could not believe how easy, convenient and reasonable my entire transaction with SE Motors was. I was skeptical, but when the car I was shopping for was on SE Motors, for about $2,000 less than anywhere else. Between me and my wife, I have been a part of roughly 10 car purchases. I hated just about all of them and most times, wasted an entire day from start to finish. SE Motors exceeded all of my expectations and I very highly recommend them for your next purchase!
