Type of a scam Employment
I had a dashboard where I logged in everyday and printed out shipping labels and took the packages to the post office, UPS or FedEx.
Now that it is payday, my login information no longer works and no one will answer my emails, texts or voice mails.
It is too good to be true. I guess I thought that since it is Covid, a lot of new opportunities are available for folks to work from home. No.
I filled our a W4, uploaded my ID and gave my checking account information for the supposed direct deposit. I spoke with supervisors, HR, managers and the accounting department. I was given instructional manuals, had to pass a background check and had an interview.
I feel so stupid and I really don't understand the point... Was I involved in smuggling goods? So far, no activity in my checking account, but I definitely have to change all my accounts.
They got a month and a half of good work out of me as well as gas mileage, a bridge toll, tape, ink and paper.
They call themselves SPS Trade, SPS Post, Shanghai Pudong Ship, interchangeably. They only say "HR Dept" or "Shipping Dept" in their email signatures, and in their outgoing messages, that should've clued me in. There was always a nagging voice inside, I kept thinking "I'll see if it's legit" and they got me because I really wanted it to be.
