We have received several phone calls from the listed numbers above supposedly from the following cities: Baltimore, MD (410-***); New York, NY (646-***); San Martin, CA (669***); Brooklyn, NY (347-***) and a call from 877-***. Some were male callers and some female. We did not answer the calls. All messages began with: "Your social security account has been suspended because of suspicious and fraudulent activity. Press "1" to speak to the officer". (Not exact wording but close)

The caller ID showed the number and the names Abraham and Kev. The caller claimed to be from the Social Security office and said there was an arrest warrant out for my arrest. To help clear this matter up, please call this number back. I knew right away this was a scam and wrote the phone info down. My husband called the number back and gave them a false name and refused to give his social security number. He told them they should have the number since they called us. He finally gave them a false last four numbers of social security number. The scammer then proceeded to tell him that there was a police raid on a house in Texas (we are in FL) where drugs and a car had been confiscated. He said the car came back as being rent by my husband - all of this based on a false name and social security number - and that he would be arrested. At this point my husband said, "Now let me tell you a story. I work for the Putnam County sheriff's office and this call has been recorded. I will be turning this recording over to my superior who works for the Alachua County sheriff's office and he will be contacting you." The scammer asked, "You work for the sheriff's office?" To which he responded,"Yes." The scammer said,"Oh, God!" and hung up!

My mother has gotten several phone calls from this number. When you first answer phone it’s like a computer is talking saying you have defrauded the Social Security and if you don’t speak to one of the reps that there going to arrest you and freeze all of your accounts. Then when they come on phone it says their Social Security Office and that your speaking to Officer ?. They told my mother that she was to go to Best Buy and put all her money onto a prepaid card. When my mother mentioned calling her bank they told her she wasn’t allowed to and wouldn’t let her off phone. They said if she hung up she’d be arrested. After riding to Best Buy etc my moms phone was going dead and they told her they would call her back. After that she informed me of what had taken place. Now as I’m sitting with her they called again saying they were officer so and so etc. I told them to never call this number again and they immediately hung up. I tried calling number back and it doesn’t receive calls. Please Be Aware.

I received a call from an Indian sounding man (from India) stating he was calling from the social security office and stating my social security # has been hacked in Texas and he wants my name and SS number to confirm. I told him if I have been hacked, then he should know my name and ss# already and I asked him what IS my name and last 4 of my ss#. He stated out loud “Just tell Me! “ I then accused him of being a scammer and I was going to report him and then he promptly hung up!

My father received a call from someone claiming to be from the Social Security Office. Told him his new account (that he set up 3 weeks prior in person at the social security office) had some fraudulent activity and asked him to verify his SSN. My father, unfortunately, provided the information to the guy since he was just in the social security office a few weeks prior.

I am reporting should any lines of credit be taken out in my fathers name we have receipt of this incident.

As you answer the call you will hear a pre-recorded message which warns that this is a call from the Social Security Office, and that your social security benefits have been placed on hold due to suspicious activity. You will then be prompted to press 1 on your phone to speak to an agent about your "case". I pressed 1 and was greeted by an individual supposedly named Mark, who claimed to be a social security officer. I asked him: "so still doing the social security scam huh?". To which he replied "yep". I said: "good luck to ya", and he said "you too". I then ended the call. I suspect they were after money.

The caller contacted the consumer from a 501-764-9277 phone number and requested personally identifiable information.

Received 2 phone calls just minutes a part from each other saying that my social security number is going to be cancelled due to suspicious activity on it. On the second call I did get a live person and she said she was from the Social Security Fraud Department and she was wondering why I was calling her. Not sure but I do think this is a scam call. I hope my social security number is not cancelled.
