My husband has been getting phone calls from various numbers stating that his "social security number was being deactivated in Texas due to illegal activity and to call this number or press one to speak to an officer at the social security office".

The call is forwarded to a call center full of Indian accented workers that try to phish for information.

They call every year threatening me about being arrested.

Voicemail said they are the County Sheriff and that I have outstanding warrants and need to pay it down asap or will be picked up

I answered the phone and was informed that legal action was going to be taken against my social security number for me to call a number back but I don't remember the number it started with 1 804.called from a 512 area code

I had 2 calls today from the above number stating that there has been a judgement or similar filed against my Soc Sec. number. I was instructed to call the number back to get the problem resolved.

I attached the initial phone call.

I returned the call to inform them I knew it was a scam-they hung up on me 3 times. On the 4th time i was threatened with the FBI coming to get me. Then after i told him the “Social Security Office, does not ever call you and that i was reporting them to the BBB. He called me a “***,” and hung up.

Scammer called and at first I didn't answer the phone ha called back and then I called the number back. I said to him you just called this number how can I help you he stated a name I couldn't understand it foreigner. he said who is this I told him you called me you should know who you are calling. He said I'm calling for the social security administration about fraudulent activity. I told him first of all you don't even know who you are talking to and I am going to report you the ScamPulse.com, social security office, local police and AT&T to trace his number he hung up on me.

Said was with sis office and officer Jennifer Walker was working on my case. Wanted my ss number and date of birth. Then said a rental car had found on border with blood on it. I was going to charged in the case. Wanted to know if I had rented a car . Said some cards had been found with my name on them. Said was going to be turned over to FBI and and I oils cooperate with dept- she would transfer me to them. I just jhu g up realizing I had revealed my name and social security to them!

Consumer was called by someone that said they were the with the social security office. No one asked for any information. Consumer was hung-up on. She said it sounded like a foreign man. When she contacted them back she was hung-up on.

on may 29 I received a phone call where a woman said she was with the social security and that I was being brought up on faugent charges for drug trafficking and money laundering she gave me a case # and a desk # and a name and ask for my county's sheriff office number and said they would call me and tell me what to do but she had to convince them that I had done nothing wrong an not I would go to jail but by then I figured it was a scam and I refused to do what they said and I went to the sheirffs office to report it

I received several calls on my cell phone from numbers that I didn't recognize. They would leave me rotary calls less every time stating that they were from Social security office. I had fraudulent claims on my number and I needed to call back or I would be taken to court. The claims were in Texas. The calls came from two different numbers 254-326-1654 844-259-4448.

Automated phone call stating that it was the department of social security and that my SSN had been suspended due to fraudulent activity. I hung up after and blocked the number.

I received a phone call From 12097325387 automated voice saying it was Social Security Administration and to call them back that there is fraudulent actions going on with my social security automatically knew it was a scam I called back and sad that the SS office does not call that they send letters. They told me that they do call if you have a case that they are filing against you. They asked for my SS#... I wouldn’t give it to them. They said that they would proceed to file a case against me. I hung up.. They continue to call from different phone numbers.

A foreign male left a message on my phone stating ... I must contact 703.879.1630 ... I called the number and he stated that someone been using my social security no. ... He told me my social security no / my home address and my name. ... He said somebody in TX stole my identity and stole a vehicle w/drugs and money in the vehicle. I got worried and contacted the police

I called the Fort Walton Beach Florida Social Security Office to get an answer to a Medicare question at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. The person answering the phone identified himself as from the Social Security Office. When I asked my question, he answered it then he told me I had a gift of $100 coming to me and just wanted me to verify my data and a credit card # for mailing. I questioned him multiple times but he always had a ready answer. After I gave him my data I had a sinking feel this was a scam and immediately cancelled my credit card, but he now had all my personal data. When I called the Social Security Office on Monday to report they had a scammer linked to their phone #, she laughed and acted like this was an everyday event and told me the SSO would never give out a $100 gift cert.
