I received a phonce call with a recording stating my social security number was identified as having criminal activity associated with it and gave a menu of numbers to push to speak with a representative. I did so and was told that I called them and they then asked for my SSN. I refused and the call disconnected on their end.

I got a phone recording at 10:55am Friday, December 14, 2018 claiming to be from Social Security Administration stating that there is a legal enforcement action filed on my SS number for fraudulent activities on my Social Security account - They then mentioned for me to call back as soon as possible 281-915-0577 - I went to my local SS office to verify the fraud and they filled me in to report to BBB - Hopefully some day they will be able to end all these type of phone call scams ?

They told me that there had been some criminal activity being done towards my social security number, and that I could be arrested if I didn't give up my number and get a new one to help them find who was doing this criminal activity.

Perpetrator left a message on answering machine,landline stating they were from Social Security and that my SS# had been used fraudulent, committing fraud and that I needed to contact them soon as possible before beginning prosecuting proceedings.I returned the call next day verifying my SS# and DOB, not peaceable about giving my info over the phone, so I called police dept, gave them the call back number, ran number and it turned out to be a scam number. Made a police report, contacting the necessary facilities to inform them of this incident so they are made aware.

I received a call from a person claiming to be with the social security office. They were telling me a story about how they found a car connected to my social security number and that the car had cocaine in it and that it happened in Texas. I have only been to Texas once and it was not recently and I never rented a car there. They mentioned the FBI and other governmental agencies to the point where I was scared to be hearing what I was over the phone.

This person called from a valid ssa number, 800-772-1213 I called back and it happened so quick. They have all my information. She said she worked in Stockton or Lodi, but her name was Dickson or Dickenson. They have all my information to include ssan. I hung up in the end, after they had what thry needed. But I hung up without notice so I don't know if they were trying to get money.

They said it was the "dept of social security administration". The reason for this call was to inform me that there is a legal enforcement action on my social security number filed against me for a fraudulent activities so call back before they start proceedings against me. Once they said before the end of the day and once they said asap.
