SOS EDMONTON LOCKSMITH 24/7 Reports & Reviews (6)

Locked myself out of my car. Phoned and asked for a quote and the lady said that the driver would give me one( 4 doors).Ended up paying 183.00 and argued with this fellow as he said it could cost 225.00. Took him less than a minute with the air bags to do. Told me the process was different but I had this happen long time ago in a 1999 Grand am and it was the same only harder. Came home phoned a few more companies and the quoted on the phone for 80.00 and 60.00. I messaged them twice but no reply at all. Reported to the BBB and now on here. DO NOT USE these guys.

I inadvertently locked myself out of my condo unit on Easter Sunday. I called this company and was told there would be a $15 call out fee as well as they'd charge $35/hour. I said that was fine and a 'technician' showed up, shoved something between the door and frame and 'popped' the door open in under 20 seconds. I was very happy, but when he handed me the credit card machine, it was for $300. I said that there had to be a mistake and he said that it was the correct amount. I argued with him, but he just stood there, so I paid it. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and then drafted a rather nasty email to the company indicating that I wanted a partial refund or I would file a report. I finally got hold of someone and when I explained what had happened, he said that the amount charged was correct and gave me some sort of song and dance. I told him that he had one last chance to fix the situation, he said no and I hung up. I then called a reputable locksmith company (I wish I'd remembered THEM when I locked myself out) and explained what had happened and he confirmed that yes, I'd been scammed and that I was lucky there hadn't been damage done to my door. He said that fraud was rampant in the industry. I have since filed a report with the BBB and am going to follow up with other agencies as well. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY (I use the term loosely).

My husband and I were locked out of our garage/house in the cold. I responded to the AD on Google for SOS locksmith. We were told he would be there right away. Over an hour later we are freezing and he shows up. Doesn't talk much and I wasn't able to understand him that well. Apparently my husband gathered he told us he would have to pay 165 to drill the top lock and then 85 to replace it. When I got the final bill it came to 329 with 50 labor and service fee. I was not expecting this... Seems a little ridiculous to charge that for a lock not to mention now our top lock and bottom require separate keys... If we weren't cold we would have taken some more time and came up with something else. This is an absolute scam... They advertise affordability, it's a joke. Also it took me some work to find the reviews that might have saved me from this experience. BEWARE

Absolute trash. I tell them the issue with my smart lock and that it needs to be rekeyed after we tried doing it ourselves. I ask them if they can do that with the specific lock and they tell me no problem. Gets here and in 10 seconds proceeds to tell me I have to get a new lock and pay a $15 service fee for that BS. Gave him 20 in cash and he gave me change but didn't have enough for the $5. Don't [censored]ing call this company ever. Trash.

2021: Here are the points, make your own decision: I called SOS Edmonton Locksmith 24/7 for locksmith services, and without my being informed - until the payed invoice was provided to me via Email - it was Five Doors LTD. that arrived at my home and completed services. Here's the invoice.

+1

This "company" was suggested to me by a friend when I was locked out of my house based on a *** Ad advertising low cost locksmith services including 24/7 emergency locksmithing.

They originally quoted me a price of $175 to drill out my doorknob because of a bad pin. Reasonable so far.

After drilling out the doorknob, they replaced the doorknob with a cheap standard LSDA lock. They then went to make an invoice and returned with over $500 in fees, including the $175 service fee to perform the service, $200 for the lock, and an additional $90 of labor on top of that for a job that was literally done faster than it took to make the invoice. They then presented me a payment with no option to refuse a minimum 15% tip on top of those additional fees.
