Steam punks has paid me in full on time, I have worked 3 years with them and experienced these people and their claims, Brendan was one of my friends but he got into the crack, he was my referral for work, Brendan showed up late , took off with tools and keys from multiple sites, made clients await weeks before any contact could be made, Brenden actually dropped his crack and pipe on the clients driveway. I would not place much faith in this claim made against. I saw Brendan get paid in full and asked to not return, he swore at clients and the team and broke some costly materials on his way out. Brendan shows up with faulty tools, bad attitude, smelling like week non shower. installed one day work and got turfed. steam punks is a great company to work for and yes they provide short term jobs for contractors. and pay top wages. they do not carry employee base even I am a sub contracted worker. Brendan is a nut job.

hey Rylan , tom here. I can vouch for the statement you made, I have worked with steam punks systems for 4 years. I have witnesses that the owner pays and had to pay to make good on Brendan and his poor craftsmanship. steam punks are a great employment opportunity for small contractors that want more work.
I have seen these small contractors try to take full advantage of the owner of this company. see you at work wed bud.

I worked for Steam Punks System Corp.
for a few months. It didn't take long to realize the company is as broke as Skye himself. They quickly became more of a nuisance then an employer.

The final job before I had enough was a simple installation of baseboards and door trim/false post and beam installation/range vent pipe install/closet bifold door install.

No material was on site and was up to me to be measured and brought to site after his client paid for it.

Thru disussions with his client it was decided we wouldn't scribe baseboards to the wall and floor. Any gaps would be filled with acrylic.

I worked here for 58 hours and was promised $40/h for my tools and labor. I bought $69 worth of supplies and have only received $140 from Steampunks/Skye.
I was done working there on the 23rd of Dec. 2019 today is 21st January 2020

I have attached a picture of Skye Hawkins and I's text message from my new phone and will post from my old phone as soon as it is repaired.

Skye Hawkins advertises jobs in construction and subcontracts you out at a higher rate as a temp worker like an employment agency such as Labour Unlimited only he doesn't disclose this up front, nor did he provide a licence number as a registered employment agency. He did not pay me as agreed, nor on time, nor completely. Also, the business name contains the suffix "corp" and yet BC Registry Service has NO information about them.

Their UsedVictoria employment ad reads:

We currently are seeking small car owners operators that can provide

Insurance coverages.

If you can provide these we have small package and mail service deliveries

Similar experience. He said job took to long. Instead of terminating me he had me complete it. 58 hours work. Been waiting 17 days to get paid. Filing a formal complaint with BC labour. Also a full report here.
