Type of a scam Employment
On Friday, I got a callback after applying for a new Remote Call Center Representative / Remote Vaccine Scheduling Representative with TAD PGS, Inc. on Indeed.com. The caller identified herself as an employee at TAD and said her name was Krista. (Later determined to be Krista Montana.) I was only asked my desired hours, to confirm my home and email address listed, and questioned about what type of computer I had. Krista said the next step would be to download software to test my computer. I was to look for an email from a senior recruiter, Rick or Shawna. Later, Rick Martinez texted me from 888-910-1279 identifying himself from TAD PGS, Inc with a reminder to check my email. An email was received with detailed instructions including a link (https://drive.google.com/file . . . . sharing) to test my computer's compatibility by Sunday.
I found this request unusual, so I tried to confirm the legitmacy of this job listing. A website for this company was found at https://www.tadpgs.com. Under "Find a Job", a similar job listing was posted a month ago. Calls to their phone number 800-261- 3779 went directly to voicemail, so I left a message. Attempts to email them through their online form could not be completed. The "send message" button did not work. I sent an email to the recruiting department at [email protected]. I don't expect either message to be answered by the deadline given. Especially since it is the weekend. They may never be answered.
Red flags about first recruiter:
1) she blocked caller id, so her number was unavailbable
2) only one hour had passed since I applied
3) NO VETTING INTERVIEW QUESTIONS WERE ASKED
4) the job was for Richmond, VA, but the work was in NY state
5) job specifics outside of listing could not be answered
6) when requested, the caller stumbled over her own phone number
7) return call went to voice mail
Red flags about second recruiter:
1) he texted me from 888-910-1279, but the cell number in his email signature block was 213-820-1145
2) he addressed me only by first name and the language was overly casual in some areas
3) his email signature block was missing a physical business address
4) his job title was not a recruiter, but Director of Program Management
5) other company names were mentioned that could be part of a scam: AnswerNet and Paycom
8) I was requested to CLICK A LINK
9) A DEADLINE WAS GIVEN AND URGENCY WAS STRESSED
I fear the link would subject my device to malware or spyware and continueing could result in financial loss and/or identity theft. I have reported this acitivity as pfishing through my email server and here on the ScamPulse.com website.
