The person called claiming to be Meredith Williams and said that my taxes need to be settled before the end of the month an if I call I can avoid wage garnishment she said to call her on (260)529-3342 and that she had good news for extended relief programs that could eliminate my tax debt.

Got call at work from a lady and she said she was from the court and they tried to serve me a summons twice and I wasn't home that they were going to bring it to my work. They said I need to call 813-567-4000 I did the blank that answered the phone new everything about me. She w[censored]eful and rude. I hung up and she called back and cursing me out and hung up.

I didn't answer the phone call but this was the voicemail I received:“Hello, I hope your day is going well. They called me and then immediately hung up. Following that they called again and left a voicemail saying the following: “ Number is 260-529-3341 we are calling about your overdue back tax filings this is a notification call about your back tax debt that must be settled before the end of the month we have received a notice that your taxes need to be settled before the end of the month and if you call today we can help you avoid any wage garnishments my phone number is 260-529-3341 I have some good news for you about some extended relief programs that have taken affect that can help you to reduce or possibly completely eliminate your overdue tax debt before you receive a wage garnishment once again Meredith Williams from your rapid tax filings LLC and my number is 260-5293341 if you would like to opt out of future calls please call back the number on your caller ID”

The message made no sense and was all over the place. I am assuming from this that it is a scam.

I received this voicemail from the person on multiple days.

A lady named Chelsea Garrison with Cole Robinson Associates called me about a credit card that I have never owned. She stated multiple times that they had contacted my employer to garnish my wages. This is not allowed in Texas. Then she threatened to levy my bank account. She was a bully. The number was 813-567-4000. She scared me into giving my bank info.

I called the phone number listed on the automated system at told me to press option 2 to have my phone number opted out when I press option 2 sent me to a live representative told the representative that I wanted my phone number removed that person then became hostile, told me that I owed money how much money I owed and if I didn't pay the consequences

I received a call from a purported law firm alerting me to a tax lien on a property from 2001. She stated that she had been hired by the tax collector's office in *** **** ***y, **. She noted that they were planning to 'garnish my wages' and file suit against me for the outstanding taxes due. I informed the woman that I was divorced from the co-owner, and we jointly sold the property in 2007. She stated that none of that mattered, that the title wasn't 'clean' and I needed to make the proper payments. She had my SSN, my address and my current name. I asked for the name of the tax collector, which she declined for "client privacy." The contact was aggressive and threatening. I chose to end the call and contacted the tax office in *** **** ***y, **. They confirmed there are NO taxes due; there is NO lien; and that the sale and title of the property were appropriately transferred in 2007.

Please advise on how to report this activity.
