Dear ScamPulse.com Scam Tracker Team,

I’m reporting an employment scam involving a fake job offer, identity misuse, and a fraudulent check sent through the mail.

Summary of the scam:

• I was offered a remote part-time Junior Graphic Designer position by someone claiming to be Sharon Berberich from Pluton Biosciences.

• Communication took place via Microsoft Teams and the email [email protected].

• I received and signed an offer letter and submitted personal identification — including a photo of my U.S. Green Card.

• I was then mailed a check for $4,640.56, allegedly to buy home office equipment from their “approved vendor.”

• The check was issued by A24 Films, LLC, which is not affiliated with the company.

• I deposited the check at Bank of America, which placed it on hold and ultimately closed my account due to suspected fraud.

• I was instructed to send money via PayPal and received messages from a person posing as a vendor using this number: +1 (270) 519-1946.

Thankfully, I did not send any money, but this situation has caused serious damage — my account was closed, and now I am concerned about potential misuse of my identity documents.

The real Pluton Biosciences has confirmed they were not involved, and that someone is using their company name and employees fraudulently.

I received the invite to interview in my email inbox. I have applied for a few positions recently but did not recognize this one. I opted to do a quick search to figure out who it was from and the name search led me to a list of scams on the ScamPulse.com website with the same email offer and name. I did not contact the scammers or reply to the email.

This so called interview was conducted through Teams only. After typing and replying to many questions they said I got the job and asked how I wanted to be paid. It did not feel right. So I said I was reporting them to the FBI. I did send them a picture of my drivers license before I got suspicious. I checked the email addresses from the original email. Non of them were associated with my states career link or the so called company I was interviewing for.

I was applying for jobs online. It was a job offer that was sent to me through emailed. I accepted the position. Did an interview through this link: https://teams.live.com/l/invite/FEAI-9O30Id64DEvQE They sent an e-check for the equipment and software materials along with the employment letter. When i deposit the check in my bank they rejected the check cause me to now have a negative account and its not going to clear for 7 days. A fortune 500 company shouldnt have an check rejected. Then they wanted me to zelle them saying i will be reimbursed. That is when i knew it was a scam.

I was contacted about a potential position with Lumen Technologies. The original email asked me to download Teams so I could be contacted by Mary Pamela Lincolnwood. I was asked many questions and told to hold on the line for 20 minutes while she contacted Lumen with the information. She responded that Lumen accepted my resume and she would be forwarding a check to purchase critical office items for the position. She emailed the check with rediculous instructions which made me nervous and I began to check online about scams. Her name and all of the information she provided checked out to be a scam. I have the chat details and all emails if you want them.

I received an email regarding a job with Avant-Garde Marketing. I was given a teams link for an interview. When I clicked to do the interview, a "recruiter" came on. There was a different name which was "Ropelato Consulting. I was asked some typical questions, told about the position some and then asked to respond to some questions quickly. One of the last questions was what bank do I use. When I said that was personal information, they no longer responded.

I am a job searcher and i was contacted by email to a job vacancy (finance Controller) I had a three phone calls about job then they contacted me by cellphone to offer a contract and all was look like a normal hiring process but they told me that I will start my onboarding so fast and with out formal communication therefore I decided contacting with HR from the real company and they confirmed by email that email address is not an email from the company and they recommended reporting on LinkedIn but I want yo ensure the follow up to help against this kind of issues.

I have been job hunting. I was offered an interview. I was hired. I completed paperwork and banking info. They had a check delivered to me thru UPS. The chck is for $10,000. I took it to the bank and they said this is a common fraudulent trick to get me to deposit the check and then pay for hardware out of my account.

I was offered a work from home job and started the hiring process and then they said we help employees pay off their CC and we pay for the work equipment in full. They said they had some Employees misuse the company money so that was why a group of checks had got refunded and said the company will pay off your card. They also told me that Since the company had a group of checks they had to stop payment on that they would deposit the company check into my account so I can purchase the work equipment and next thing I know I get an email that my card is closed due to returned payments. The Hr lady said they’re gonna fix it, accounting department is depositing the company money for my work materials. I have asked to talk to management but she has yet to give me any information about management or anyone hire up. She still stringing me along. Still saying I’m still getting hired and that Accounting department is fixing the issue. If I can press charges or whatever I can do to stop them from Doing this to more people. It was a job offer as remote data entry for this pharmaceutical company “Demo” out of Greece. I did find out that it is a legit company. I was advised to message a person on teams for interview which was very professional and I did not think anything of it so after interview I was advised to callback the next morning to see if I got the position. At which time I did the back ground and I-9 with all of my information before they sent the check. It did not clear and I heard no more from them.

Was contacted by email regarding a remote job offer on 6/5/2024 and afterwards had reached Covera Health/(888) 525-3993 on 6/7/2024 to speak with a staff member named Karina who informed me that the person (I.e., Mr. Pedro Busquets) who works from Chicago IL and who claims to be a Talent Acquisition Manager for the company is not an employee, though unfortunately had interacted with him via Microsoft Teams from 6/5/2024 to 6/7/2024 and had sent both by email and upload on Teams my current resume along with ID and residency verification information.

I was interviewed via text messaging and offered to participate in their training program. The entire ordeal was the most professional attempt to scam me yet. My interview was forwarded to another department for approval. Then, I was given a score of 8.4 out of 10 and invited to their training program. That's when I recognized this opportunity to be like other scams and I went online to check them out. I regret wasting time with Katrice Mercedes.

Today, I received a tx from Makala Harmon claiming she found my resume on Indeed and thought I would be a good fit for Forge Biologics. She sent me the name of Ms Hairston for an interview through Microsoft Teams with a verification code. I spent all afternoon and went over everything. I received the documentation from Forge Biologics, James Armitage, and an email from [email protected]. With my excitement, I printed, completed, and emailed back. However, once completed, they insisted that the head supervisor wanted me to start immediately and that I needed to pay for 1/2 of the equipment fees of $550, which I would be reimbursed. I agreed, but I knew something was wrong once she stated that I needed to pay through an app. I asked what handle it would be through Paypal, and she insisted I pay $275 to [email protected], Cassandra Anderson, as a friend or family transaction. There was no way I was going to do that. I have a copy of the whole conversation/interview/messaging. Now I have to deal with the fraud companies. These people have no morals and don't realize what or how they hurt others.
