2 People showed up at my apartment at 6 pm and stated they were from "the electric company" and not state the company by name.

They said they were surveying to see if people were spending too much on electricity and asked to see my bill.

I refused ended the conversation there and closed my door.

I have received multiple phone calls from "Philadelphia water and gas company" attempting to have me change services. They call and don't address me by name until I ask them if they know who they called. They have tried selling me services several times now and call from a number similar to the one used for Childline follow-up calls. Philadelphia Water and Gas is not a real company, as its "PGW" in Philadelphia but all the calls come from a "Philadelphia" phone number.

A man came to my door saying there was a quarterly update to utilities from PSEG. He took information from my pseg bill and our phone number. When he asked to confirm a text I began asking questions and he just kept giving run around answers. Then I started asking for his id. I had to ask multiple times before it was shown. I then took a picture of his id. That is when he said he is not with PSEG and I told him to leave. The whole situation left me feeling extremly uncomfortable. I don't know if he can do anything with the information he got or with the phone number but I doubt it. The name on the id is Rabian Harris and it looks fake. The website on the id does not exist.

Person stated I had an outstanding bill with electric company and that if I did not pay within 30 minutes the power to my home would be cut off.

• Feb 22, 2024

They claimed I owed money and they would cut off my power if I did not comply. They then sent me a text message from a 226 386-6292 number to get me to send an e-transfer.

I asked several times for I'd and if 3rd party supplier like nrg. He told me no on both accounts. Wanted me to check my bill and see what I'm being charged that he didn't need to see it. I asked what the charge under and he looked at my phone but I had it zoomed in. He said ur being charged. 11 cent instead of . 08 cent. He then was doing stuff on his tablet. I told him I'm not signing anything. He said I can save u money and correct it. I said ok but not signing anything. Then he asked me for my customer number. I again asked him for I'd other than his jacket. I told him no and walked into my house and shut the door.

Attempted to pay at&t phone bill over phone when account wasn't charged correctly. Company pretended to be at&t over the phone and took debit card information for a charge. Later was charged same amount by at&t, and they have no record of a double charge coming through. They informed me that they don't take payments like that over the phone with out an additional charge.

Number for "discount services" is 802-323-5201 and they claim on the phone to be at&t.

Email appeared to be feom SaskPower, saying my bill is overdue with links to click on.

Email claimed that power bill was unpaid and threatened to disconnect service. Key links in the email do not lead to the legitimate SaskPower site, but to awsgaming.com.

Email they used is not mine so not sure how it got to me. Pay bill or service will be disconnected.

Received a very legitimate looking email from what appeared to be SaskPower advising a bill was overdue and disconnection would soon occur if not paid. Links to click on to pay with credit card. They knew the billing due date, but had account number wrong. The bill had been paid already. The email was sent to a nickname email address (but came to our email address) and came from [email protected]<[email protected]></[email protected]>

Received a notice by mail. The notice says el paso electric customers could save money by having an inspection done by the company who sent the notice (Change Energy) and to schedule an appointment by calling the number listed on it. I actually dialed the number to make sure how legit this business was. They told me they neither had an office or website for operating a business. That right away gave huge red flags because thats not how businesses conduct. I did not solicit any of their services and simply hung up.

I received a grant of encasement letter with seven attachments sent via UPS delivered directly to my hands. Letter asking permission to add an encasement to an existing pedestal at my address. Previously when Comcast needed to link cable from existing pedestal on my property, nothing was asked. Just knock on door and ask permission. Work was done.

I have a new neighbor behind me. So I was all for not restricting them from having cable service. So I contacted local Comcast/Xfinity Office. They searched locally and in communicated via email with Scott Griffith. Phone was not answered when I called. So this begin to feel like someone wanting to have my property. Even went through my land deed and found out that he needed deceased family rep members to grant permission as well. And if I would kindly contact them to grant this permssion. Answered no. Rep contact Pennsylvania for contract open on my property. They had nothing. Have office in PA with same address but no contract service for my address. Kim, the representative for Comcast/Xfinity was happy for the call. Will make note on my account. That this a SCAM.

Person came to door, asked to see electric bill, explaining their company could lower rate and give rebates. He wrote down my billing information on a clean piece of paper I gave to him because he did not have anymore. This person said they would call the company and give their badge number and then have me verify my information. I asked for the company phone number and his badge number, so I could call in the information myself. He explained he could not do it that way, but they would verify everything with me. I said, I will not give personal information to a number he is calling, when I do not know who he is calling. I took the paper back and said I would check out the company. He left me his personal cell number but never supplied the company phone number. I researched and saw a lot of complaints with the BBB. Will not be calling him back.

Eric Called and said that Georgia Power utility was going to be cut off. He called because he was unable to actually get to the location. He used Badge number 500-25, and said to call back to customer service at 877-899-4563. Call this number which said it was Georgia Power, man named Jason Harding came on phone saying that he would hold the disconnection for 45 minutes if someone would go to a FlashFoods or CVS and puchase a MoneyPak card, then call him back and give him the confirmation number on the back of the card, he wanted $422.88. I could call him back at his extension 106 and he was working until 6pm.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

Call came in (spoofed) as 216-288-1733.

"Hello, this is Michelle calling about your latest Dominion East Ohio gas bill. When you have located a copy of your latest bill please call me back at 440-732-3073."

Calling this number resulted in a pitch to get me to change my gas supplier. This is deceptive and you need to shut them down! The 440 number above will tell you who it really is, use your resources to shut them down!

- Boston, MA, USA

Voicemail/Call 'Wendy Smith' regarding 'Utility Charges on your electric bill'. They include a fake reference number and tell you to call back @ 617-658-1417.

- South Weymouth, MA, USA

My company was called by a person saying he was from National Grid and that our electricity was scheduled to be shut off today for a delinquent payment. I spoke to him and he said to call the 800 number above to tell them the payment was sent. I called the 800 number and the person posed as a supervisor from National Grid. He suggested I pay by credit card and I declined. After the call, we called the number on our National Grid bill and they confirmed our payment was up to date and that is not one of their numbers.

- Boston, MA, USA

The caller said they were representatives of Eversource and would like to offer me a discounted rate if I gave them the information from my last bill. I hang up and called Eversourse - the official representative confirmed it was a scam.
