asked to be placed on no call list said they will keep calling

- Conroe, TX, USA

Got a phone call today and the person said my name and my response was yes. The call immediately disconnected.

For several weeks I have had an automated call come in with a different caller ID offering a free home security system with free installation. Today I had time to see what company or who it is, I stayed on the line and was transferred to a guy who sounded like he was in a tunnel with a TV on in the background. When he came on the line he said he was with, then paused, "security services" then asked my name and asked if I was the home owner and repeated the number that was called. I found it strange that he didn't offer a more legitimate business name, when I asked what the cost for the service was he said he would have to get a specialist to answer that and put me on hold but I could clearly tell he pushed play on a tape recorder since he don't push it hard enough the first time and it stopped and he quickly pushed it again. I stayed on the phone until the tape ran out and clicked off then stayed on until the phone system said that I was being kicked out of the conference call.

I did an online reverse number search on the three numbers I have, they come back to landlines of people who are most likely not aware, since I called the last number back and got a voicemail for an American sounding woman who lives in Texas.

Glad I always give false names to these people when they call since they are probably trying to steal my ID to open accounts or get a loan and need the information to verify online applications.

I started getting calls from this number claiming there is a Security issue on software they recently installed on my computer and I need to call their number so they can fix it. No identifying company, product, or names of any sort used. It was just as vague as what I just wrote. And tjey call about every 5 minutes.

The lady asked if I was recently in the market for a home or car. I said "I have never been in any market. Goodby." and hung up.

This phone number calls my cell a minimum of 10 times per day. It is not a machine and it is usually what seems to be the same male or female voice.

- Moline, IL, USA

Posed as a fake buyer wanting to purchase the vehicle in cash if I could forward him a copy of the VIN report from the site. The method of communication was through text messaging.

A guy called our phone and talked to my husband. He said that our satellite service said we have 8 adult movies that was ordered and has to be paid. We do not have satellite service. He would not give his nane or identify what company he was with. I told my husband to hang up.

- Milwaukee, WI, USA

Daily phone calls coming at all hours of the day. Nothing will make them stop! Has been going on for several months! Do not say anything.

Do not accept calls from this number its the yes phone scam.

- Ballwin, MO, USA

I did not see caller id and the person sounded like a coworker. Once I confirmed my name they hung up.

Received an unknown caller, call on cell phone. Answered since my husband’s work is listed as unknown. When I answered the gentleman asked “who is this?”, I said who do you want, they again asked who is this, and I said who are you calling for. They recited my phone number and then asked me if this was the correct number. Without thinking I said yes. I then again asked who are you calling for. They said Mary and when I said I wasn’t Mary they hung up. After I hung up I remembered the scams that I read about where they are trying to record you saying yes.

Says your name and asks if it is you.

I am getting many phone calls from numbers with area code 314 with the first 3 numbers of 749 and the last 4 digits are always different. I get them 2 or 3 times a day. I answered these phone calls twice and they are offering a better interest rate on my credit cards. I was suspicious and asks them the name of their company and they would not tell me. I ask the question 3 times and they finally hung up on me. I never answer any question they asked. I am submitting this because I believe this is a phone scam. The info I entered above is all I know about them. The phone number I provided is only one of many they use.

I was expecting a call today from a friend, so I picked up the call. The caller acted like he cannot hear me, and he asked me if I can hear him. I said “yes” then he hung up immediately. I remembered hearing about scams as such and realized that this might be a scam. I called back the number and verified that the number is not a working number. Don’t pick up phone calls from numbers you don’t recognize and when people ask you if you can hear them, always say “I can hear you” instead of “yes.”

Received call from the number listed above and when I answered, I was asked "Can you hear me?". I answered, "yes I can" and the person on the other end hung up. Don't know for sure that it was a scam but I am concerned.

- Kalispell, MT, USA

Answered a question with "yes" and they hung up. Dialing the number, I get a,message that my call cannot be completed as dialed.

Just received call that IRS filed criminal law suite against myself and left a message to call them.

- Littleton, CO, USA

I received an email telling me they found my email address online and they wanted to sell their home and purchase a new one. When I responded asking questions they sent back an email encouraging me to open their dropbox attachment which would outline everything they want in a new home and a copy of their bank statement.
