I received a piece of mail claiming to be from the "Vehicle Services Division" and labeled "Final Notice" about my warranty expiring, it claims to be from the "Program Coordinator" named "Richard Thomas". It asks me to call them with my VIN and mileage before a certain date otherwise I'd be liable for any repairs etc... Their number is 1-800-851-0673, and for Spanish speakers they ask to call 1-800-813-6261.

Didn't bother to call this obvious scammer. PII was obtained from Toyota Corp. They share PII with third-parties for "advertising" and "other" purposes. All this the result of my wife's purchase of a Toyota SUV a few months back. You have to go to the Toyota website and opt-out of having them distribute your PII to just about anyone. There was no hint of Opt-Out when we closed on the car. Nothing. Congress has to do something about this, but I know they won't. There's just too much big money at play. The EU has the right idea. Opt-out is the default.

This is what Toyota has to say on their webpage: "While Toyota does not sell your personal information for monetary consideration, providing or otherwise making your personal information available to third parties for advertising or other purposes may be considered a sale or sharing under state privacy laws for which Toyota provides opt out rights."

Received a letter trying to appear as to to be from the car manufacturer at first look with the heading “Final Notice”. Excerpt of letter contents: “Please call 1-800-851-0673 with VIN and current mileage before 09/07/2023. Our records indicate that you have not contacted us regarding the vehicle service contract on your vehicle. Your are receiving this notice because your factory warranty has expired or may be about to expire. By neglecting to activate your coverage you will be at risk of being financially liable for any and all repairs after your factory warranty expires.” It goes on with text to imply urgency. No company name, no return address and only the toll free number as contact.

They call about the vehicle service contract and try to get you to buy a warranty for your car and if you say you can’t afford that they will keep transferring you to different agents

Received a letter by mail saying that it was the final notice regarding the vehicle service contract on my vehicle. It asks for me to call the number and give my VIN and current mileage. There’s no letter head or actual business information other than the “vehicle services division” at the top margin. It is signed by Richard Thomas “program coordinator” but no indication of what program. It also very urgently tells me that I must call by a specific date or else they reserve the right to revoke my “eligibility for service coverage”

Received scam in postage. No attempt to contact made. Obvious scam. They have access to information that I've only given to the state, my insurance company, and the dealer I bought the vehicle from.

I received a letter in the mail from Richard Thomas informing me that my vehicle’s warranty either has or is about to expire. The letter instructed me to call Mr. Thomas at 1(800)851-0673 before 08/09/2023 with the VIN and current mileage of my car. The letter goes on to say that this is the first and final attempt to reach me about this issue, and I may be held financially liable for any and all repairs. The letter ends shortly after that, with Richard Thomas’s signature, his name, printed, the phone number, as well as operating hours
