Mailed me a letter with my car type and address telling me I was going to lose out on my cars warranty and soliciting a phone call

- Franklin, TN, USA

It was a letter received indicating that I had not contacted them regarding the vehicle service contract on my vehicle (which by the way is a company lease). I was receiving the notice because my factory warranty has expired or may be about to expire and to contact them within 5 days to ensure eligibility. As I WORK for the auto manufacturing company I know this is a scam as all necessary paperwork and qualifications have been met and this is NOT branded in any way.

I received a non-descriptive letter in the mail from a person who identified himself as Richard Thomas, Program Coordinator at Vehicle Services Division Private & Confidential. The scammer stated my vehicle warranty was expired or about to expire, and that I needed to contact them at (800) 851-0673 regarding my service contract. It also asked me to provide my VIN number and current mileage before 03/17/2023. The letter did not provide a business name, address, or email, and the envelope did not have a return address. Although this was my first notice, it was marked Final Notice. The notice included a customer ID number for me. The business operating hours were listed as Monday - Friday, 7:00 am-8:pm CST, and Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm.

When I called the number to ask about the company, the person I spoke to was very rude and threatened to cancel my extended warranty for 100,000 miles. He also mentioned that their company is Phoenix Insurance since it was not specified in the letter. I hung up on him. I appreciate the person who posted this scam previously.

Individuals attempted to gather information for a warranty that was already in place. Upon request they provided me information about $150 down for the first 2 months 29 monthly payments of $121.69 and I was going to cover a 5-year warranty of coverage. I said that the deductible is going to be $100. Attempts to gather credit card information no other pertinent information was closed at the time of the call. Only information that was listed was address and first and last name. Disconnected the call once suspicions were arising.
