Got my resume off Career Builders

+5

I just received a text message from someone by the name of Ben King stating that he was the Head of Hiring Recruiters Department at AKKA Technologies and that my resume was successfully reviewed on CAREER BUILDER and the company was offering me the chance to work for AKKA for the position of Customer Service and the pay is $35 per hour. I replied I was interested. Benjamin King then responded that the interview will be conducted via Telegram App that I would need to download.

After downloading the Telegram Messenger App, he called me to verify that I was real. He hurriedly got off the phone and told me to respond to his text message.

I have posted the pictures of text messages between Ben King and me.

I have been contacted by a William Anderson claiming to have hired me after a brief online interview on google [email protected] to get my credit card and bank log in information. I'm new to the job market and things have changed since 2003 when I had to search but this was crazy and very discouraging. I'm a 46 single mom of an autistic child that has been employed since high school and need a job not to loose what little I have left. My job search thus far has been nothing but scam calls, emails and text.

Same thing happened to me. [email protected]

A James Gilbert texted me about a job here for 35$ an hour. Kept me interested for about a month. Then asked to text me, started getting sexual, I was very uncomfortable. Now he says he loves me. Still no job, I'm asking about the job. He this weekend asked for my login info for my bank where I said no, he said that's how the accounting dept. do it, so I ask to speak to the accounting department myself. Sine then he hasn't responded.

Ashley Garrett Howell has contacted me with same crap! I actually called the number thru Hangouts & a gentleman answered with a foreign accent. He said she was in a board meeting. It's the middle of the night where I live!

Received same texts as DCarlsen on 10/9/20 ... I do not trust Career Builders, I think they sell profile and resume information to scammers - my offer from Robert Metcalf for AKKA Technologies was the same, but $48.89/hour for an Administrative Assistant / CSR - Really!

This is a phishing Scam!

Just got a nice "fishing" text from someone trying to confirm who I was.

I replied, not even stating I was the person and, if they're looking for someone, professionally speaking they should call them.

Quick text reply that they found my resume on Careerbuilder and "HR had already approved me for a position". Yeah, right.

RED FLAGS.

I asked what company and my sneaky guy was a Mr. Robert B. Metcalf. He said the company was AKKA Technologies.

I of course quickly Googled them and found this immediately. Also checked on Glassdoor and LinkedIn for his name (not there) but found bad reviews on Glassdoor too as a Scam.

The text wasn't even properly written. I put the screenshots below so you could see.

After I told him to keep sending me info because it was great for the SCAM page I was going to post him on, the texts stopped.

Hmmmmm?

The same thing just happened to me last week as it has so many other people. My so call HR manager from AKKA Solutions was Lucis Martinez. Like others, they are using Cash-app to make these transactions. They had a job posting on Indeed for Administrative Assistant. for $27. There's also another company called Allium Solutions that someone is using their company name too for this same type of scam. They are actually sending checks out on a closed acct. I called the bank that the check was drawn on that they sent me and apparently they are aware of this closed acct. activity. Even after I declined the job, they sent the check anyway hoping I would be encouraged to proceed. They sent me a check for $1,950.00. Not sure if anything will be done, but I won't rest until I get some answers from someone because this shouldn't be sweep under the rug, this is people lively hood that someone is messing with and they need to be stopped.

My resume must have been sent to multiple places through a website names career builder and someone messaged me saying I was fit for a job at AKKA Technologies and it had a training pay of $20 per hour after starting would have been $45 per hour for the position of customer service I looked in indeed and I noticed there wasn’t a position for customers service at all for that company (red flag #1) I proceeded anyway He said his name was Samuel Dean and did the interview through an app call Telegram in which I already had he proceeded to send me a code to text him on the app to initiate the interview his @ was @samueldean # 9095771224 and the number that text me all this was (810) 209 9477 on the telegram app he proceeded to ask me interview like questions then after answering them all he said he needed to send the conversation to hr keep in mind the interview started on Friday it’s now Monday (2nd red flag) he said I qualified for the position asked how I would like my pay he offered cashapp in which I have a verified account in cashapp so I sent him my username account number and route number and then i get a sign in code as if someone was trying to sign in (3rd red flag) I knew then it was a scam I did not give him the code after saying no he blocked me this was absolutely too good to be true.

I've been contacted by AKA Technologies for the position of administrative assistant they hire me and I'm supposed to work with my training supervisor tomorrow but I've been reading a lot of these things about maybe this company is the scam how would I know for sure how do I check them out they offer me $20 an hour for the first week of training it in $45 an hour after that and also like everybody else to send you a check and have the office stuff delivered to you so you can work at home

Hey Magic,

I hope things worked out for you. Unfortunately, many companies just kind of toss out anything they can to see who bites and if you're ever unsure or have a "feeling" that something isn't right. It usually isn't. What can you do? PLENTY!

Google them
Checked LinkedIn
Ask them to send you everything in writing.
Have them CALL YOU
DO NOT DOWNLOAD anything they send you (Some companies use this as a way to access YOUR computer to find your records and bank accounts/etc). Yeah, happens.

Any legit company will provide you with anything you ask because YOU are a valuable person and if they've decided to contact you for a position then THEY are, for lack of better words, wooing you. :)

You deserve to be told to truth, given answers to all your questions and made to feel 100% comfortable during the entire process.

If you don't feel it, move on...and you don't owe them any explanation!
Something better will come along.

I was contacted via email and I believe they Pulled my resume from indeed. I had to download the app “telegram”, to conduct the interview. As the interview began It was a bit awkward and red flags started flying but I hadnt said or given Any personal or financial information. After the interview they said they would turn the interview in for review and would notify me.
An hour later, I did get a message from them but it didn’t say whether I got the job or not and if I remember correctly it just said Something to the effect- Are you still there. I didn’t see the message until an hour later and Because I had switch a few things off on Telegram Because I had a weird feeling...I thought that was maybe why they responded with -are you still there.
So...This morning Tuesday August 4th, I Made an audio call from Telegram and the man that answered the phone said he was The person I spoke with which was Shaun Grady, And he even said hello (my name), But I know the person I was Talking to was not the person in that profile picture. The person I was talking sounded as if he was somewhere from Africa. When I asked him what was going on he said he was going to send me some more information about the company and hung up. I haven’t received any information about the company did not really expect to. But i just noticed they sent me two more messages today and I just responded to it and told him I was a little confused if somebody could call me in the morning I would appreciate it which I’m positive I will not be getting a call. I don’t have a phone number for them but there was a social number which is 682068906. I’ve already seen the other complaints so hopefully this is helpful

I received an email this morning, 7/22/2020, informing me that I had a job interview with a company called AKKA Technologies. From a Mr. Noah Trump. I downloaded Google Hangouts as directed and gave my information. The amount they were offering to pay me per hour, 25.71$, seemed like a HUGE red flag. They got my information from my resume on Indeed.com...I wish they could be stopped. Thank GOD I read about this on your page here, otherwise, I'd be taken for all I have.

I was contacted by email to do an interview online through telegram. The company was AKKA Technologies. They're a global company. There was a lot of red flags. It paid $30 per hour for a customer service. I had to use my own computer. They were going to send me a check to buy their software package. That would mean they would have access to all my information. There was no background check and the only information they needed was my drivers license. This big of a company would have asked for more and would have had the resources to send you the equipment to work at home. If it's to good to be true it probably is. I never spoke to one person. They got my resume off of career builder. This just seems like a scam

Me too..they got my resume off Indeed.com.. Thank you for posting this, because I thought it was too good to be true.. You just saved me a lot of money I don't have in my account! God bless you! Have a good day Miss Mary Nichols!

I too was contacted today about a position with AKKA Technologies so I greatly appreciate all before me that have posted this scam so that other unsuspecting individuals have a venue to check. It's despicable that scammers would try to take advantage of people during this time in our country when people are at their most vulnerable. I was contacted via email in response to a posting of my resume to CareerBuilders.com. Once I responded I was told that the entire interview would be held via text chat on the Wire app. Which I found highly suspicious. One of the requirements was that I have accounting experience and a bank account. I mentioned that I did not have any accounting experience. In reply, I received you are well qualified just reply Done that you understand so that we can move through the interview. I goggled and saw this forum. So in reply, I stated that I see that employment with AKKA Technologies is a scam so No thank you I'm not interested in the position. Thanks again team!
