someone called on my landline, when I answered a prerecorded message said it was someone from Amazon that has noticed some fraudulent activity on my account, particularly a charge for $120. I haven't even used Amazon so I know this is incorrect. I pressed 1 to talk to an agent and I yelled at the person saying "this is a scam, and you should be ashamed of yourself" for which he replied my name and said [censored] you. I hung up immediately. I've received this call twice.

I received a bogus order from Amazon.com for several items totaling over $1700. When I saw it was Amazon, I called to cancel.

The people on the phone were rude, could barely speak English, and said that I could not cancel the order. The address was wrong, my charge number was wrong, and when I verified on-line with the legit Amazon, I saw that I had not placed an order in months.

Be aware of any charges or email order verification from amazon, it may not be the real Amazon! They were very unhappy when I challenged them on the incorrect information.

The scammer said he's calling from Amazon to let me know that Robert Williams hacked my account fr $598-600. In order to cancel this transaction I need to go to website...anydesk.com and download the information. After numerous calls I called Amazon and they said they didn't call me and see no $600 order on my account. As of today they are still calling me. Please find out who they are and stop them.

Received customer service call from "Amazon customer support" stating that there's a possible fraudulent charge on my account of $500 and to press #1 to speak to a representative. Once about 5 seconds goes by the number hangs up. Received a call following that 5+ more time from the same number.

I received a phone call from the number and it was a recording saying that my Amazon account was compromised and there was an order for an I phone 11 with a charge of $499.99 to call if I wanted that order cancelled. So I called the number and starting my conversation with Eric who claimed he was with Amazon. He wanted me to get into my computer and follow his directions so he could fix the problem. He claimed that someone had hacked my IP address. He knew my phone number, address and email address. When I refused to get on my computer he kept telling me the same thing-the only way he could fix it was for me to get into my computer and following his directions so I ask to speak to a supervisor. Then someone named Tom came on and he sounded just like Eric so I hung up on him. I then called Amazon to make sure there was not a charge for an I phone because I never ordered that to begin with. I don't want this to happen to anyone else.

caller said they were amazon rep and rhat they would deduct $39.00 from my bank account to pay "this charge" we told them they had reached KTAXS news and they promply hung up!

- Macks Creek, MO, USA

I received a call saying that there was fraudulent activity on my account, charging me $725.00. They connected me to customer service. It was a man with a foreign accent. I asked them to quit calling me and he hung up.

- Detroit, MI, USA

The people said they were Amazon and they purchased an iPhone and there sending it to some guy in Texas off my account I contacted Amazon they said they would never contact a customer that way Amazon advised me to check my bank account

Numerous phone calls both automated and in person saying there has been fraudulent charges made on my Amazon account for roughly $700 in Ohio. Asked to verify Amazon account information.

- Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA

I received a phone call on 12/2/2020. There was an automated message in a woman's voice saying a charge for over $700 has been made on my Amazon account. I was asked to press a number if I did or did not make such a charge, and I did. Then I was asked to press another number to speak to someone about the charge, which I did. When a live male with a foreign accent, whom I could not understand at all, answered, I realized this must be a scam and hung up. I did not give any personal information.

The next morning, 12/3/2020, I received the same call from tel. no. 795-596-8072 and hung up when asked to press on a number if I did or did not make a purchase of over $700. I immediately hung up this time.

- Center Point, TX, USA

Email form Amazon (fake) said I'd purchased a Surface lap top. But wasn't sent to my address. Immediately went to Amazon web site support. And they informed me it was a phishing attempt.

- Bessemer, AL, USA

Received a call saying my Amazon account had been charged for Iphone 12... And to press 1 for further details... I don't have an Amazon credit card account..

The robocall reported that there was possible fraudulent activity on my amazon account and that I could speak to a representative.

Caller said they were with amazon and calling because of a charge for 900+ dollars on my account and that the only way to fix it was to have remote access to my computer or my phone. I googled how to call amazon directly and called ************** and the scam started again wanting me to go and purchase a amazon card for 100 dollars to prove my location . So i then got on amazons customer service web sight and started a chat and ask them to call me and they assured me there was no charges on my account.

- Pemberville, OH, USA

The scam was a phone call from "Amazon" claiming my account had fraudulent charges. The initial call was a automated call from "Molly" claiming there was a $729 charge on my account made in Dayton, Ohio. You are asked to press 1 to get to an operator. When I got to the operator, several of them were able to initially confirm my identity and address, though it was broken up and missing some important information. Upon further probing, they asked me to be polite and to be quiet (um, what?!). I knew going it, it was a scam. I pretended to be concerned and continued on the call with them. They indicated it would need to be escalated to their fraud team (which is who I thought I was already talking to). From there I was hung up on. Following that call, I called Amazon myself and confirmed my account HAD NOT been hacked, charged, or any pending charges. They also confirmed Amazon will NEVER call or email you outside of a claim that was initiated by a customer (or a confirmation of orders). I also updated my Amazon password and log-in information just to be safe. The scammer called again and I spoke to "Alex Martin" who sold me the same story, but now the amount had went from $729 up to $1200 in a matter of 10 minutes. I told Mr. Martin that I had spoken to Amazon and there were no charges and I had contacted the authorities. I told him I knew it was a scam and it needed to stop. He asked me if I would "count him out" of the scam if I talked with the police. I had one final call that I entertained- they were able to assure me they would help me "fix" my issue. Adam (who was unsure of his name initially) was who I talked with this time, was certain he could assist me. When I expressed concern, he let me know I shouldn't worry...he would be able to help me. I continued to press that I was uncomfortable and had actually called Amazon to confirm my account was safe. He indicated that he was from the security department and who I talked with was customer care, and it was all completely safe. He pressed on that he would help my by just logging into my phone or computer to screen share with me to solve the problem. When I finally came clean to him that I would not be screen sharing as I knew it was a scam, he hung up on me. I am worried people will ultimately give out their log-in information and actually get scammed. Overall they have called us at least 20 times in the last 24 hours.

I receive a call from an female imposing to be from Amazon fraud department, I knew it was a scam because the more questions I ask the madder she got and just hung up on.

They called and stated they were Amazon and a charge had been charged to my credit card for $200 for AI phone I then hung up. I recall back the number off of a separate phone and told them in desperation that I had received a call and they stated that I had been charged an iPhone after checking with all of my family to see if they had use my credit card and they had not. My daughter then called from her phone who never received a call and stated the same thing that she had received a call and she was worried and they again stated that she had a $200 charge that they had called her on for and I found that she had ordered she then called them out and stated this is a scam and may told her thank you for being so smart and hung up on her. I also know that this has happened to one other person around our area and she didn't know any better and ended up with for I phones charge to her credit card account and her bank Card number stolen.

- Columbus, OH, USA

I filed a police report concerning a phishing email from Amazon saying I had a package delivered. I clicked on the email from my Apple phone. It said a computer had been delivered on November 18th. I thought an individual had taken out an Amazon credit card in my name, but the credit reporting agency said they didn't see it.
