I just got a call from "Amazon" spoofing my a number with my area code and the first 3 digits of my own phone number. A recorded (illegal) half-speed robot voice told me my Prime membership expired and was about to auto-renew for $119.99 and if I wanted to cancel or renew I need to press one.

I hung up, because: a) I've had Prime for years and they've never called; b) that's not how much I pay for Prime; c) I pay month-to-month, so there's no expiration or auto-renewal situation on my account.

I continue to receive packages from Amazon Prime packages that we did not order, they are random packages that show up at our home with small Items that we have not ordered, a few packages were just empty packages. I have not been charged for any of the packages being sent. I spoke to amazon, who stated they would look into it , and could take up to 2 weeks for a resolution, It has now been a year and I continue to get these packages. I believe this to be a part of the brushing scam.

Sent me an email that I had an 2 orders from amazon, one for $8000 and one for $400. Claims my social security number has been hacked and they have got credit cards in my name. Wanted me to go to dollar store and purchase a block card and stay on the phone with them to get this matter straightened out.

Received a phone call saying my Visa card had been charged a certain amount for an Amazon purchase of Nike shoes. I have no card and did not make a purchase but I called the number that they said was Amazon Assistance. The longer we talked the more info he could give me. He said I was being scammed and the scammer was in Oklahoma and was sending shoes and gift card to a person in Canada. After asking him to repeat himself several times he hung up and so did I.

This was a recorded call using a female voice. The call came in at 1:56 pm on August 14, 2020. The recorded call stated that "Your Amazon Account has been charged or is trying to be charged $720 for an item. Push a number to receive more information." I listened but was totally aware that it was a scam call. I hung up. I called the number used which was 402-440-2033. It is a legitmate number in this locality. I believe the persons' number has been 'spoofed' as we say. I left the information that the phone number was being used as a scam number, so they would know. Please shut this operation down. Thank you. The scammer would have attempted to steal identity and money, however, that was not allowed, due to my knowledge of devious operations. I am familiar with some other persons having a similar phone call and pushing the next line, because of fear of an account misuse. I am a victim, in that my phone was called, I am not a victim of theft, because I stopped the possibility.

Guy said that my amazon account was compromised by two people within the US. He told me to go to CVS, Walgreens, and Dollar General, get gift cards and read him the numbers. The numbers were supposed to be "blocking numbers" to stop the people who were messing with my account. He had me download an app from Google play called Quick Support. I think he got personal information from my phone through that app.

We had a phone call, from a person stating they are calling from Amazon to request conformation on purchase of $295.00. Then asking to confirm the confirm the purchase they need the Amazon account number and Credit card number. Well, we explained we do not have any purchases from Amazon, they ended the call. There was a lot of noise in the background on the call. Sounded like children playing. They called our house phone 317-243-****. This phone number is also on the do not call list here in Indiana.

Thank your for your Assistance.

I received a call and the scammer stated that they were calling from amazon to verify a transaction of $800 for a purchase of an iPhone 10 X. They proceeded to tell me that the purchaser was from Dayton Ohio. So I contacted Amazon customer service and I also looked on my Amazon account myself and I haven't ordered nothing from amazon in over 3 months so I knew right them it was a scam. He also asked me what type of phone did I have. Android or iPhone and if I could open it up to something. Then I proceeded to hang up the phone.

My husband received an email from [email protected]. He called and the man told him he need to help him so money could be refunded. My husband would not give him any information. My husband forwarded the email to me. I called and the man said my Amazon account had been charged $699.00. I asked him what were the four last digits of the credit card. He said he could not give me that information over the phone. He said I needed to open my computer and he would help me get my refund. I said no, I'm calling the Better Business Bureau to report him and hung up. My phone rang, caller ID showed 213-866-0106 Los Angeles, CA. It was the same man telling me my Amazon account would continue to be used if I did not let him help. I told him no I knew he was a scammer and I was reporting him and he better never call my number again.Amao

I received 3 items from Amazon on 3 separate days for products originating from China that I did not order. It must be a scam. I received a digital multimeter, a chenille scarf and glass screen protectors for a phone I don't own. One package indicated it came from Shepherdsville, KY from YIYIFA. The other two packages didn't have a return address.

On August 7, a package was delivered to my old address from Amazon. The current owners contacted me. The package was addressed to my father, who had passed away in 2005. Through my many calls to Amazon today, they were able to tell me that this order - which was a fishing hat and a laptop screen protector - was ordered through my deceased father's Amazon account on August 5th, 2020. No one has used or had access to this account, and his last order, per Amazon was 2003. I could only find out the last 4 numbers of the credit card on this account, but I know that all my father's accounts were closed at the time of his death. There was no other identifying information on the package other than it being in an Amazon bag. No return address, no tags on the merchandise, nothing. I believe this could fall under the Brushing scam that I read about on your website. Is there anything I can do about this?

Started on June 26,2020. I called Amazon about charges on my account in the amount of $540. Didn't realize a scammer picked up under the real amazon number. Ricky Bell was the name used. He said he would take care of this. He rung up and called me back, not realizing it was from a different number also I received a text saying landline the number was 337-632-7779. He explained that he was going to delete all the charges and credit me back. He gave me the accounts he had, which was my banking account. He asked if I have the app on my phone, which I did, he told me to click on it and I would see all the charges including a transaction that was showing up the same day June 26. So I believed he was telling the truth. Than I saw a red symbol come into my phone than I saw something moving, than I realized he had taken control of my phone. I ask him what he was doing, than I received an email on my phone from Western Union. By than he had pulled all my contacts files and information from my device. The email was a western union transfer from me going to a Yina Viviana Acros Jimenez, Country Colombia expected Foreign Country payout location was Colombia. Now, I've been tracked even up to today. I also found out that someone recently created an account under my Cox account, which I had no idea. So, now I realized how they was tracking me through Cox.com. They been controlling my internet, Wifi, blue tooth, and phones through Cox.com. Everything was in my phone, including my social security number, passwords etc. This has been so stressful. I did a report to the local police dept, Fbi, an d Federal Trade Comm. With everything that's going on, its hard to reach anyone. They have been spoofing my number. Not able to get calls from people in my contact or they redirecting the calls.

Received email stating that my order had been shipped. It listed a tracking editor and track your package in email. I did not click on either. Said Apple Mac was shipped to *** ******* ** ******** ** 41721. Further down in email it stated "In case you have not made this transaction call immediately at 1-844-1359." "In case you have not placed this order you might be a victim of hacking or ID theft. Call our microsoft support partners immediately at 1-844-1359" I called and Aaron Williams answered, foreign accent, and said he could help me but I need to follow his instructions on my computer to correct the problem. I kept asking what was issued to order and he would not tell me cause of privacy and did not know if I was the right person calling. Since I could not get a straight answer I hung up and and did not take any action with him on the phone.
