I was contacted through CraigsList when trying to sell my truck. I received an email saying he was interested in buying my truck, but needed me to purchase a title check through a website I've never heard of. I shouldn't have, but I clicked on the link. It was a site similar to Carfax, and wanted me to buy a report. I didn't. I told the supposed buyer that he could buy his own report. The emails we sent back and forth regarding my truck seemed a little bit off, and I was a little suspicious from the start.

I am selling a vehicle on Craigslist and received a very vague email about their interest in the vehicle. No name or contact information was shared, they simply asked me to run a title report on this specific website at their loan officers request. This was sent as a link to the website provided, and it redirects you to a report check listed under Motorvincheck Report.

Selling van on Craigslist. Buyer emailed me with request to have VIN report from a specific site. Insisted would buy vehicle quickly if title clean. I sent VIN report from different company and never heard from buyer. Could not find information on the company buyer requested.
