A phone msg was left by 479-644-1787 claiming to be XFinity with a 50% off offer. I called 866-784-7690 to clarify as I am already a customer. They asked me to pay $700 upfront with Target gift cards to get 50% reduction in bills over next 3 years. They gave me a “billing” number to call when I had the cards—866-634-5696–and told me I would get a $100 VISA card if I contact them within 100 minutes. I googled this after the phone call—a scam.

The person called me claiming to be Xavier from Xfinity. Asked if it was ******* ********. I said yes and then the call dropped. I am hoping this is not the recording “Yes” scam. To claim to be me for a possible future money scam.

They asked me to call them back at 833-718-0386. The upload is the voicemail I received. They offered me a discount on Comcast Xfinity. I don't even have a Comcast account.

Person called and left voice message to call about our xfinity account. Had all our account info. Claimed we were eligible for promotional discount, must pay our current bill, and 6 months of new discounted rate. 3 years of new rate but no contract, cancel anytime. We asked to have details emailed, they sent email thanking us us for paying current bill, which we had not. I checked my credit card and checking account and they were not tapped. I have a paper bill due 6-24. They have left 2 voice mails stating we were still eligible for discout through a Target program. They told us to get a Target credit card or gift card to pay the bill. They gave me a confirmation code and a billing number to call to pay. I told them I would go to my xfinity store and take care of everything (just to see what they'd say) and they said it couldn't be done that way. That was when I checked ScamPulse.com website.

Caller pretended to be a Comcast representative and offered 50% off my bill. They asked for Target gift card for $300.

I initiated a call to what i thought was Comcast Cable TV. It wasn't Comcast but said they were Comcast and they needed my routing and account checking number. In order to get my service to be turned back on and they would be sending a service tech to my house. Then i would be refunded back the $201 to the Xfinity app i used to pay my monthly bill. In the meantime, this unscrupulous person had highjacked the xfinity app i use to pay my bill, changed my checking acount to theirs. When i finally realized i was just hacked, i immediately got out of xfinity app. Closed my checling account and got the real number to comcast xfinity. I turned it into their investigation department. The scammer asked the exact same things the real Cimcast/xfinity asked me to see my account. They were really slick. I was able to get 3 different phone numbers from them. There were a bunch if them.

816-334-8944, 888-203-4968, 888-936-4968 are the numbers. This all took place on 5/3/2023. Hopefully they were not qble to get any money from me but i know i am on the black web now. I have frozen my 3 credit bureaus.

Tried to get autopay set up for comcast. googled it and clicked on a phone number 1-855-857-5126 person picked up on first ring, hint one, Comcast never does that. said my name is Sam how can i help you. I replied is this Comcast, he stuttered uh yes this is Comcast. hint two. asked for my information and he confirmed my address like Comcast does. then asked for my bank info. I stupidly gave it to him and then tried to confirm it was set up with a visit to me local Comcast store and it was not! I immediately closed the checking account and opened a new one. when i asked for a confirmation number he said there was none. hint three. I was dumb, just trying to keep it from happening to someone else.

Target and Xfinity working together they stated. Called Xfinity number and questioned and they stated no such promotion exited gave them info as well.

They called and left a voicemail, saying we would lose our discount, from Comcast/Xfinity, and that we needed to call a different number to get it straightened out. I called the REAL Xfinity customer service number and they assured me, they do NOT call customers about this and that it was a scam. The original number that called was 860-840-2647 (Hartford, CT). In the voicemail, the number they wanted me to call back was 833-698-6672. When I called them and asked if this was a scam, they immediately hung up on me.

Because they said Target was sponsoring the promotion, I had to get Target gift cards for $900 & then phone the billing department at 844-470-7573 & give them the confirmation # (which the guy gave me) & then give them the Target gift cards #’s to receive a 50% discount off my Xfinity for the next 2 years ($150/mo). That was one of 2 promotions & the one I picked was cheaper.

Voicemail knew that I was a Comcast customer, with my info. They offered me $70 a month off my cable bill for 24 months with a one time payment of $700 Target gift cards, a promo. I was scammed into purchasing $2100 for a lifetime agreement with Comcast. After I was scammed he called me a [censored] for falling for his scam! An expensive lesson learned ! This phone number is still active . Comcast security proved to be no help; virtually useless.

Consumer told BBB,

I was paying a Xfinity Bill for a friend and found this number off of the website. I called them and they answered using the name Xfinity and told me that if I paid $200 out of the $442.06 bill that the bill would be cleared. I paid the $200 and now they are finding that money is being taken out of her bank account and Xfinity has stated that the bill has not been paid.

I received text, email, and telephone voicemail messages from "Xfinity," offering a 50% discount. I did not respond to any of these messages. My first thought was, "it's about time." Upon further reflection, I knew it was a scam so I called Xfinity and went through three hours of "push this button," "download this chat app," "blah-blah-blah," and finally, a human, only to be transferred three more times to let THEM know about this scam; or was it a scam? Finally, they said they had a list of possible scam numbers to block from my phone. I was put on hold AGAIN; the agent returned and said I just needed to hang up, shut off my phone, and restart it. I asked how he could do that since I did not give him the telephone number that left this message, and he explained that it was unnecessary.

I copied this from my iphone transcribed voicemail the company left me 3.8.22

“Hi there this call is to remind you that Comcast Xfinity will be canceling the 50% discount offer which was not applied on your account in order to avail the discount right now please call back at 844-780-0179 from 8 AM to 5 PM to civic standard time thank you and have a great day…”

Last month when they called I went through it and actually was upset I had missed the call. What a wonderful opportunity to take half off of your bill for 2 years if you pay the first 4 months in advance. It just so happened my bill was due that day and is 212, so I said ok so I should be able to add that into the four months. They said no. Then they explained
I had to pay with a target gift card. I hung up and called Xfinity immediately and they confirmed it was a scam. I was close but what company has you pay with a target gift card. I’m shocked they called back this month, again.

When I returned the call to 855-706-3225, I was offered a promotion that would lower my monthly services from $228 to $79.99 for 3 years. To get this promotion, I would need to pay 4 months in advance, $320.00 by calling 855-505-2806 ext 1 with Promotional Code: XFY7407-77C. I contacted Xfinity separately and was advised that this was a scam.

I got a message that Xfinity was offering me 5O % off. I called and Ben Parker said my bill could be reduced by 5O% for the next 24 months. He had the last 4 digits of my Xfinity account, the number Xfinity texts me on and my email. It all sounded great until he told me the only catch was I needed to purchase a target gift card going on in great detail how Xfinity and target had this deal together to save valued customers this amount. I needed to pay one years amount of 480 upfront then I would have not bills for a year then in 2024 my bills would be 40 dollars. He gave me and ID number and asked if I had the customer service number which I did he said I needed to use a different number and gave that to me instructing me to use the id number he gave me . I was starting to doubt the whole things and then he said if I had a Safeway close they sold target cards he gave me a description of target card like I had never heard of target and how to get cashier to put money on card. Then he says if I can do this in 3 hours I can have another 100 dollars. At this point I was annoyed and skeptical.

I received a phone call from 855-775-3885 wanting to know if I would like to get a 50% reduction in my Xfinity bill. I decided it would be worth looking into so I called.

It was explained that I could receive a 50% reduction in my Xfinity bill for the next 2 years. I asked what was the catch? I was told there was no catch, that I just had to agree to the plan for being a good customer. He asked what my address and phone number was. That should have raised the flag because Xfinity should know this. I was asked what the current charge was on my bill. I would think that if this were Xfinity they should know that. My mind said ‘something for nothing’. As he talked I put that aside. I was told that all I had to do was say “I am accepting this offer” into the phone so they would have a record. After I did that the conversation went on. I asked if they were going to bill me so I could write them a check because I wouldn’t give a credit card #. They indicated that could happen.

The deal was that I had to pay for the first 6 months of the bill and then I would be billed monthly after that. I was given an “Xfinity” phone number (888-869-6729) for approval of the special deal. There was also an authorization code I would need. The number was XFI704. It was then explained that Target was sponsoring this deal. Then they said that since they could accept checks for the first 6 months of thre “special”, I would have to go to Target and get a $500 and $300 gift card before I called the “special” number. I would use the gift cards to apply to the first 6 months. THE RED LIGHT WENT ON. I said that I thought there was no catch to the deal and I wanted out. He told me that I had already agreed to it and he had my voice acceptance of the special. He said that if didn’t accept did the deal I would have to pay the first 6 months anyway. That’s when I told him I would fight this and he hung up.

Professed to be from Xfinity and offered reduction of my monthly bill by half. He had access to my Xfinity account information . Cleared my balance for this month and wanted me to give him my checking account information so that he could withdraw $200 for this month and supposedly my next bill and all other bills would be $150. I asked why he didn't just charge the credit card that Xfiity uses for my monthly payments. He just wanted my checking account number. I refused to give it to him and hung up. He had supposedly paid my current bill from an ficticious checking account. My xfinity account still shows zero but I know I will be charged for a returned payment when the $268.57 that he "paid" doesn't clear. I have notified Xfinity several times about the scam.

They said they were Xfinity and asked if I wanted my bill cut in half. They knew my address, phone #, bank account #. Had to change all my accounts.
