I called xfinity but they said their phone lines are down but I got re routed to a different number and the guy said give me permission to change your password and if you pay with debit credit card now I'll take $50 off your bill and restore service but I didn't trust it

- East Chicago, IN, USA

They have access to all of my info regarding my cable services

- Mukilteo, WA, USA

I was in my cable bill trying to make a payment this person said he was technical support for xfinity took my Devit card info and took money out for asking a question. I looked in my bank and he took out money I called him at 1800-766-761511 he put it back, I called my bank she said she looked it up and it says to call the ScamPulse.com

Email from Xfinity stating my Visa card would not except payment. Was told my service would be shut down within 24 hours unless I provided information. I did not open page to give them any information. I contacted Xfinity, they checked my payment status and their was no problem. They said it was a scam.

This is a fraud scheme, stemming from Xfinity and breach of access to my private information online. Caller claimed to be with Xfinity Sales Promotions and offered a promotion to reduce our Xfinity and AT&T bills in half. They promoted the scam as a post pandemic special promotion partnering with Target. The initial call came from Christy with Comcast/Xfinity at 507-317-8587. The scammers had full access to my cable and phone accounts without me having to provide any information. They only had my cell phone number. I spoke with "Ted" and during the call, he pulled up my accounts and zeroed out my bill, claiming that Target covered them and to take advantage of the promotion I would need to pre pay my account for several months via Target gift cards. I was offered the same promotion for our cell phone service, AT&T by "Kevin Thomas.: I was also offered a new phone from Target. I bought into it and participated until I realized it was a scheme. When I told them I was no longer interested, "Kevin Thomas" became verbally abusive and I received threatening text messages from 501-387-7130. They again accessed my Xfinity account, directing $900 to be paid out of my bank account without my authorization. Xfinity backed out $500 of that amount. I have changed my passwords, had to cancel my credit/debit cards and open a new checking account but have been scammed out of $2050. This has been reported to the FBI, FTC, NM Attorney General, Xfinity, Target and AT&T. I have also filed a report with the Albuquerque police department.

I was called by the first number given. In a voicemail a recorded voice told me to call the second number stating my account, which i do not have, qualified for 50% off all my bills and to call them back asap. Knowing i didnt and that my legal information was not connected to my phone number i called the second number and was greeted by a recorded voice that does not match the automated voice for xfinity said the entire beginning that xfinity calls have. It gave me 4 options, pay bill, account details, a third one i dont remember, and other inquiries. I pressed account details and instead of xfinity's normal identifying questions i was taken directly to a "representative" that was not in the country. I then called xfinity and confirmed that neither number belong to xfinity. The rep i talked to tried the second number which just rang busy and xfinity only uses 800 numbers and so the 615 number was automatically flagged as fraud.

A message was left on my answering machine from Comcast saying we qualify for a discount on our services. The number left to call was 855-630-2836. When calling this # which has the exact same recording as the real Comcast/Xfinity, I spoke with someone named Joel Carter who offered me a deal for 1/2 off our cable at $120. a month. for 2 years. Also included were 2 premium channels. When it came time to sign up, he told me that Target was sponsoring this special deal. Therefore, it was required that I pay 4 months in advance. Since it was Target, I had to pay that with a Target charge card or Target gift card. He told me if I do this in 2 hours that I would qualify for $80 in rewards money as gift card. He gave me a Reference # XFI0000567 and told me to call 1-866-542-8913 and go to billing. I went to Publix and got a Target Gift card for $480. Called the # which also had the same Comcast/Xfinity recording and I gave them the # off the Target card. Gave me a payment reference # PR1214M69A. Thinking I had made a great deal I went to watch the premium channels I selected, and they weren't available. That is when I got suspicious and logged on to comcast and didn't see any changes to my account. That is when I called the "real" Comcast and was told I was scammed. I called the # on the Target card and it was cashed within an hour of this all happening in a town in Nevada. So, I am out $480, and I am glad I didn't sign up for a Target credit card like they wanted me to do. I hope this helps keep others from going through what I did.

Some dude called me from the scammer phone listed above. Spoke very quickly, asked if he was speaking with my first and last name. Was trying to advertise xfinity mobile. Thought it was very fishy because of how quickly he was speaking.

I received a phone call on my cell phone stating it was from "comcast" it used their number and they said there was a security problem with my modem and router and they needed the numbers on the device. I stated it showed on my phone they are a scammer which they then argued with me and eventually hung up. After this I contacted comcast directly and they stated they would never reach out to a customer unless we contacted them first.

I was referred to an interview on hangout app and connect with the email I was given by Maddie which she presented herself on Facebook to friend me and ask me if I was interested working remotely or at home, she gave me email address to the interviewer and I have communicated with the person which he named himself as salesperson in the name of James senan but the profile on hangout app is didn’t from the salesperson. He gave me the position to the job, which he gave me instructions on how to get started. The rep said I had to give him my personal direct deposit account with my password and username of my bank. Which was to give me the money direct deposit to get an one vanillas credit card to get the equipment from Comcast. Never heard of a company that wants me to do their job for them. They suppose to give equipment or anything and not ask about my bank info.

This website is mimicking xfinity. I thought it was legit, set up internet. entered social security number and card number. Then when i wasn’t able to reach anyone i contacted Comcast and they said it was indeed a fake site. So now i just have to hope my debit card and social security information is going to be okay

My 81 year old Father received a phone call from Xfinity that there have been router problems in the neighborhood and that they needed to get on his computer to check the account and would receive a $400 target gift card for the troubles. The person then gave a website for my Dad to access and enter the code to take over the computer. Success. My step mother then entered the room to find the summary statement of the bank accounts up on the screen. She terminated the call.I advised they call the bank/credit union to shut down the accounts. Which we did and no money was lost. This has been a 5 day process helping an 81 year old reestablish accounts, government direct deposits all online. Not to mention the mental anguish they suffered from really doing nothing wrong other than trusting the person from Xfinity was trying to help. I have reviewed cyber security protocol again with my Dad. Let this be a reminder it can happen to anyone in a weak moment.

I was offered an interview through Google Hangouts, that was in the form of a questionnaire. I had passed the questionnaire and was hired on. The hiring manager provided a photo of his badge. He also informed me that the company worked alongside with the FBI to make sure no information gets leaked. I was then asked for my bank information, driver's license and social Security that way I could be entered into the job portal. I was then told that I would need to purchase a $400 one vanilla prepaid debit card. It was at that point I realized it was a fraud. I then had to call and report to my bank and credit bureau. Please do not make a similar mistake.

I contacted Comcast through Facebook because several friends were sending it to me through Facebook messenger. When I got in, they asked for my Facebook and all I did was give them my address. The a day later they said I would need $50 to put software on the system they were going to send to me. Then about 2 day later after that, they asked for another $50. Then finally after I sent the both of the $50 cards, they asked for another $100 gift card to finish the installing of the software. I have finally told them that I do not want to work for them and they said that they would give me back my $100 and my Facebook information back and has yet to do so.

Claiming there is suspicious activity found and asked for me to log into my computer and then ask to get remote access and on in they gained access to my computers IP Address then got access to my credit card information through PayPal. They then made purchases to Best Buy on two cards. After I realized it within the hour cards companies were called by me and cards closed. Charges caught in time and no monies lost.

Facebook has several online yard sell sites and a young lady who claimed to be employed by Comcast (her name was Shania Edwards out of Ringgold, GA) advertised a work from home position for Comcast. As a retiree, I thought it would be a perfect position for me to relieve boredom. I responded and she told me to open a "hangout" account and get back with her. I did so and I was connected to a Bernard Hart who also claimed to be with Comcast. We went through an interview process online and he began telling me about sending a mastercard to purchase equipment (even sent a picture of a Comcast requisition showing what to buy and how much it would be). I stopped right there and began asking questions. That's when they both stopped sending messages. Neither of them ever responded again. I reached out to Comcast today to ask if this was legitimate or, as I assumed, a scam. They said they never do anything like this. I gave them my name, address, phone and email but that is all. Others may be responding to this so I wanted to let you know about it.

Got a call from a person claiming they were from Comcast saying I had un-returned equipment. They asked me to verify my information but I had them read what they had on file which was my address name and phone number. They then asked me to read the bar codes off my router to verify the equipment. I did not give them that information and ended the call. I called Comcast and they let me know that the number that called me was not apart of comcast and I do not have any un-returned equipment and the call was a scam.

- Memphis, TN, USA

Got a recorded call from "Comcast Xfinity" offering me a deal for $79.99/mo. Hit 1 if I'm interested.

Caller ID said Memphis - (901) 333-6864. Called it back after the initial call and got some hard to understand message that basically said no one's available

Hit 1 and got connected to a guy with an accent I could barely understand. He ultimately transferred me to Daniel (obviously a crook) with an only slightly easier to understand accent. Here's my great deal:

$79.99/mo for Internet, phone, and cable for two years. I would also get premium channels - HBO, Showtime and others - and NetFlix.

I need to call Comcast Billings to prepay the first four months ($320). I wouldn't get another bill until after that.

It's a promotion sponsored by ebay to create awareness of their eBay prepaid card. So I need to pay the $320 using an eBay card.

He rattled off the places I could buy it -

Once I buy the card, I'm to call Comcast Billings (888-274-4058), give them my confirmation code (XNF1302) and the eBay card info, and I'm set to go.

This is the first day of the promotion and if I call today, I'll also get a $100 Visa gift card.

Comcast and eBay are also partnering in this promotion to help people during the COVID-19 crisis.

got a call said representing comcast of xfinity they wanted to start my stop service I told them i did not stop svc and am employee they immediately hung up. 516-579-8013 is the number that showed up on my caller id

Received text that they were trying to "deliver the delivery" to me and couldn't and to go to k5smr.info/VYM7pxnRIO ZE Transport. That brought me to a Comcast Infinity page offering a free IPhone 11 if i answered a few quick questions which I did. Unfortunately I gave them my credit card # as the fee was $1.00. They then said the number couldn't go through and to use a different credit card which I did not. email window says "dealspromos.site" or "rewardsprogram.newdaywiz.com". I assume this was a fraudulent way to get my credit card number. I am watching my account but no action so far.
