D3 Technologies Reports & Reviews (1)

On 10/23/2023, I applied for a position with D3 Technologies. D3 Technologies is a verified and industry-respected firm, so I have no concerns about the company.

I was happy to receive a quick response from them the following day (10/24/2023). However, the email's text contained several minor errors and inconsistencies that raised my suspicions.

A major company like D3 Technologies would, or at least should, be more careful with formal correspondence (especially with external contacts like clients and candidates). A simple proofread of the text would have caught these mistakes.

Additionally, after checking the sender's email address (copied below), I saw no signs that it was sent from a D3 Technologies domain.

"[email protected]"

The domain doesn't match the company, but more concerning to me was the username.

At best, this is a poorly managed automated email system that the recruiting team hasn't cared to personalize, mixed with poor professional writing etiquette. At worst, it could be a scam.

I have copied the text of the email below:

-----------------------------------

Dear [my first name],

Thank you for applying for our Project Coordinator opening. As part of our screening process, please review the questions below and offer your responses. I will follow up shortly thereafter for further discussion:

• Culture: Please describe your ideal company culture?
• Role: Please describe your motivation for being a project coordinator.
• What key elements do you always consider when taking on a team to execute a key delivery over time?
• Please share your preferences/strengths in working with clients and team members on a project.
• Please share your level of familiarity with Microsoft Project, or other tool(s) which made you accountable to dates and budgets.
• Budget: This is a full-time position with benefits, what are your expectations for annual compensation (range if you prefer)?

Recruiting
Team D3

-----------------------------------

Red flags from the email's text:

1) The wording in the second sentence, "offer your responses," is a strange way to ask me to submit my answers.
2) The third sentence says, "I will follow up," indicating a specific person typed it, but the email's signature says, "Recruiting, Team D3". No name, title, number, LinkedIn URLs, or other identifiers for an individual recruiter are included.
3) The first bullet point in the block of prompts is not a question but is still capped with a question mark.

I will respond to the email to see where it leads, but I will be on my toes with this one.
