Employment Scam Reports & Reviews (1471)

Basically conducted an interview via Teams application for working with the company making $30.75 an hour. I was told I would be trained for placement. I was offered a job. Paperwork was sent, I filled it out. Everything seemed ok up until the point where it was explained that I needed specific software for the position and the company would provide payment for it. I was told I had to order it from a specific supplier and a check would be emailed to me. I have to deposit it, deduct $150 as a sign on bonus and use the rest for payment of software needed. That’s where my stomach dropped because I had filled out paperwork for this job. I have given them my personal information and now realize this is not legit. I have never been asked to do something like this. I did not go through with the deposit. I quit at that point.

The fake company sends out job offers to become a Personal Assistant. Then they have you input names, numbers, and emails from a text file into an excel spreadsheet. After three days of doing that, they asked me to set up a Wize account and did not agree to a video chat or anything.

I responded to a job opportunity on Indeed. I received and offer letter after doing a Skype interview with Ronald Jeffers. I was told that it would be a work from home job and the company would provide the equipment, but I would be to purchase once they sent me a check. A tracking number was provided to me to keep track of for the check to arrive. I received a check via UPS on today, but I had been told that it was coming via FedEx. I sent confirmation of delivery to the person's name listed on the letter that was sent to me ([email protected]) and from this point the reality set in that something was strange, so I texted Ronald Jeffers after the bank denied my attempt to deposit it via teller. The polite teller suggested that I deposit via ATM and may get a different result. I deposited it, but was immediately alerted that a hold would be placed on the check. Less that an hour later I received am email from my bank denying the deposit.

I returned to the bank to find out if I needed to do anything; the bank manager told me that it was likely a scam and I should call the 800 number listed on my ATM receipt.

I sent another message to Ronald Jefferys and he just state that someone would look into it on Thursday morning. So, I just got messed up! Just great!

I have been applying to numerous jobs at this theme and the number I listed had reached out to me telling me that I have been shortlisted and they’d like for me to interview. So I got the “job” and they asked me to fill out paperwork, including defect deposit information. After, they sent me a check to buy my supplies and it locked my bank account and that was a huge red flag

I was initially offered a position as a distribution associate and told I would began working under that position. A few days later after I provided my ssn I received an email saying there is an even better position available for me and I would need to provide my paypal email address in order to receive an advance payment. I was asked to sign a W-9 form and that is where I entered my ssn. Facebook post said there was a job but you need to download the signal app. After downloading, I asked “hiring manager” if we could exchange personal information on the phone and I wanted a company number. He just kept saying everything on done on the app and it was not a scam. I said I needed a phone number and he finally sent one. When I called, it was so clearly a SCAM. I asked to speak with his manager to see if his position was legit and he kept saying he was the manager. This company exists, but this guy doesn’t work there.

After checking the name and email domain roof I saw that it had nothing to do with the IRS and it was possibly a scam.

I received an email saying “We want to offer you a completely remote work of a Personal Assistant.” I assumed I had applied through LinkedIn job posting because I’m currently looking and applied to a bunch. Then we had a 3 minute phone call and already sent me an employment contract to fill out personal information. The website is fake and when I search the corporation online it doesn’t seem to exist. I try calling the number and no one ever answers.

Same as the other job offer 4 weeks training 2,400 at end and 5,400 if top 10%. The sent materials everyday then offered a position but wanted me to use my credit card to buy products with money they fund.

The scammer retrieved my resume and requested more information for a supposedly employment at Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Company.
