I've been applying for jobs recently on indeed and upwork, looking for a work from home position. I received a message late at night from someone claiming to be "Ms.Cherene Mcrae" who worked for Blackhorn Ventures. After some research I could not see where the person was part of the team and asked where my resume was found and what position I'd be interviewing for. They told me all positions that were open and asked if I had Telegram or Signal Messenger to chat with them. They did not answer my questions. I then did further research, still unable to find the person or a way to contact Blackhorn Ventures and stumbled upon the ScamPulse.com Scam and found an experience similar to mine.

My red Flag was the address. That is not the correct format for an address and anybody who lives in the states knows that. Do not click on the package. It can be a phishing scheme. I don't know if the link to the "webpage" is safe.

Just for reference nobody hires a personal assistant without talking to them first.

Received a job offer for a position I never applied to. Supposed Black and Decker representative offering a remote position that pays $25-$32 an hour. The provided Microsoft teams email was not registered with an organization either. When I searched the email here, a similar story showed up as a scam.

I got email about remote job offer for position data clerk. The fake employer ask for direct deposit information. A check was sent to my mail 3 days later. I deposit the check to my bank then my employer ask send back in $400 thru for office equipment and software. Later my bank found the paycheck was fake.

Applied for a job on LinkedIn and received a very suspicious email requesting personal info in order to do an interview. Email states:

Dear Applicant,

My name is Crawford Hunt i'm the Controller of 1414 Realty Associates LLC. I have reviewed your resume on Linkedin and I am reaching out to you regarding your expressed interest in our company for the Remote Customer Care Representative position. We appreciate your enthusiasm and would like to proceed with the next steps.

Responsibilities

Communicate with customers via text messaging and email.

Hourly Wage: $40.00 to $50.00. Individual wage will vary based on skills and experience. Incentive compensation may be available based on company and individual performance.

Online training is available and will be paid for $25.00/hr.

Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Retirement Benefits, and Paid Time Off (PTO).

I received an email stating that my resume was reviewed on the Employflorida platform and my experience qualifies me for an admirative assistant and Data entry position at the firm. I interviewed for a job through signal app though text messages . I did give my name, address and phone number. At the end of the interview the text read that I will receive a check to purchase a computer and software. Also that I was to report though the signal app on Monday morning 8 am with the accounting department to fill out I-9 form. I became apprehensive when at the end of the interview it was stated “ that a check would be issued me. The funds will be credited and available in your account for cash out within 1 – 2 business days. You are to purchase the working/training materials from any of the company’s certified vendors who we have been buying from for years now. I will be available to provide directives from the Accounting Department.” As soon as the check is issued to you, I will notify you and provide you with the tracking number. This way, you can keep track of the package once it’s in transit to know when it will get to you.

I applied for a job on Indeed to work for a sessional position at the IRS. Danielle Bethune- Bergeron contacted me from a Gmail account and requested to create an account with ID.me. Then, she requested my username and password to allegedly link the account to the system.

Additionally, she requested a picture of my Driver's license front and back.

They offered a Data Entry job and everything went essentially normal interview wise and didn’t ask for money and stated they would send a check to buy equipment. Once the check arrived the company the check was from, and the person that sent it did not match the job nor the person I was speaking too. I called the company the check was from and was told their system was hacked the check was fraudulent.

Pretended to be a technical Recuiter (Dielle Kuffel) from Gitlab and a Sr. Product Manager (Gabe Weaver). Communication was done through Teams - all via text. I received an offer letter, background check information (requesting Social, DL, phone and address). I was later asked to purchase start up equipment that Gitlab will reimburse me. I received a call from Gabe via Teams and walked me thru what I needed to purchase from Apple Store (all top of the line products) totaling almost $11,000. He was persistent in getting screen shots of purchase and confirmation. RED FLAGS: Once I receive product, I was to send it to a programmer. Gabe on you tube did a presentation on Gitlab’s process and overview, Gabe on the phone had a Jamaican/African accent. Dielle also had an African accent.
