We are pleased to invite you to interview for this position. The rate of pay for this role will be $27 per hour. I had applied online for a work from home job and I remember it stating Whole Foods Secret Shopper. I don’t recall ever hearing back but they did ask for my address and phone number. On 5/31/23 I received a packaged letter from USPS (shipping label from “Handyman Connection” in Herndon, VA) that was signature required so I picked it up from my postal office. Inside was a letter of details and instructions along with a company check (from a different named company “Loyd Builders of Fayetteville” in NC) for $2,050.89. Instructions stated to go to mentioned stores and purchase 3 AMEX gift cards totaling $1,500, keep $500 for self pay and the remainder for upcoming instructions. Once check is deposited into own account, purchase the gift cards and then send photo proof of front and back of gift cards with the scratch off area revealed to the email and phone number provided and include store details and to keep cards for upcoming assignment. I was skeptical that all 3 had different company names and address so after a google search I found fraud reports of this very letter and I also called the company on the check who confirmed they are undergoing a police investigation with a total of almost one million dollars of the fraudulent checks someone has created. I wanted to do my part by reporting this in hopes to help this company and others.

I have received 10 text messages and 5 emails from the possibly the same people posing as different companies - first time 'NOVO' second time 'NOW', third time 'Pulse Campaigns', all claiming to be marketing consultancies located in the NYC and Jersey City area. I suspect this is a job scam as I never applied for a role and they're spamming me with interview invites. The IP address for Pulse Campaigns shows that they're in Denmark (same for NOVO) but their website and LinkedIn (which has fake employee profiles) is showing NYC as their location. They claim they were founded in 2010 but Google reports their website to have been indexed in September 2022 (same as NOVO).

Bill Green said he would be sending money to my personal credit card but stated NOT to give him my CC number. To just let me know what CC company the card is from. They would send IBW routing number and bank account. I told him I never heard of an employer sending company money to a personal credit card. I asked him again because it did not make sense. He said go find another job and don't bother me again. Also what bothered me, is he did not answer the phone saying IBW.

Was sent a check for $2,450 in compensation for a “secret shopper” job I never applied for. I was instructed to deposit the check and use it to buy gift cards and send the money to the company.

I applied for a job on LinkedIn they sent me an email to schedule an instant messaging interview from the [email protected] email. I then looked it up because their English was very bad and the picture on Zoom for the interviewer was blurry and the email was sketchy that it wasn’t @citrusAD.com instead it was @aol. So many red flags.

No, I will not be replying. Educated people know that companies do not reach out this way.

I work as a graphic designer and they gave me work of creating logo templates for different businesses. I had four days to complete the work of ten logo's and get paid 3,500 dollars. I completed the work and then went to go get paided. When I did, they said I needed to pay 200 dollars in service fees, then another 300 for an ID card, and then 500 for a verification to go through with the ID card, then 1,000 to "receive" my payment, with them holding it over my head I would get reimbursed my money.
