Website claims to be selling handmade authentic leather purses and bags. In actuality, they are cheaply made fake leather bags not worth the prices they are charging.

On the Gace Bags website, the company claims they are closing their store after multiple years. There's a photo of the husband and wife who purportedly are the store owners and the artists who make the leather handbags. They are offering leather handbags at a discount price. The bags in the photos appear to be high quality, handmade leather bags. However, what was received was very poor quality, and I question whether it's even made of leather. Feels like vinyl. The website claims to offer refunds within 14 days, but I've been getting the run-around. My neighbor, who also purchased a handbag, was informed that she would be responsible for returning the item to China, which they stated was expensive and she would be responsible for the cost. They said a second option was to keep the bag and receive 20% of the cost. This is not stated on their website and I want a full refund. However, I'm not getting any cooperation from the firm.

The website, https://grace-bags.com/, advertises handmade genuine leather handbags on Facebook. I ordered 2 handbags. The products I received did not resemble what I ordered and paid for. Instead of genuine leather, I received cheap, smelly fake "leather," otherwise known as vinyl handbags. I tried returning the items, but the merchant would only agree to refund me 20% of what I paid, claiming that it would be too expensive to return the items overseas when the products were shipped from a Vernon, CA, address, which is 35 miles away from my city, Castaic, CA. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges and to reverse the 97.00$ as I believe this company is misleading people and misrepresenting their products. I think the company is a fraud and is running a scam [on Facebook] claiming that the products are genuine leather [by showing stock pictures] but delivering poor quality junk.

Real leather, handcrafted purses made in America were advertised on Facebook. Said the woman had been making these by hand for decades and was retiring, so her merchandise was deeply discounted. I ordered one. It took super long to be delivered, which is what made me look into the situation. Shipping said it was "leaving mainland," so I assume it was coming from China. Company offers no address or phone number. Bag finally arrived and is fake leather, mass produced, not what was advertised at all. I have started a claim with my credit card company. I anticipate getting my money back. But I don't want this company to keep faking people out.

Grace Bags advertises on the internet under the guise that a woman who has hand-crafted leather goods for decades is closing her shop and getting rid of inventory at discounted prices. She states 'My husband and I are saying goodbye to our workshop." Introduction: "Hi there, I’m Grace, and I’m so happy you’ve found your way to my little corner of the world. For over 34 years, I’ve been crafting leather bags with love, care, and a dedication to quality that comes from the heart. My journey with leather began as a passion project and grew into something much bigger—a way to connect with people like you, who appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of a well-made bag. The Journey: It all started in a small workshop, where I fell in love with the process of transforming raw leather into something beautiful and functional. There’s something truly special about working with your hands, feeling the texture of the leather, and knowing that each stitch brings a piece closer to life. Over the years, my workshop has seen countless bags come to life, each one unique, just like the people who carry them." The site shows, what I believe to be an AI generated husband and wife, working on leather goods. The original prices on the images of the hand bags are over inflated to give the consumer the impression that these are expensive hand crafted leather goods. They buy them, thinking they are getting a good deal, only to discover when they receive them that the handbags are not handcrafted by a lovely older woman, but that they are machine made in China, and of very, very poor quality. I bought six bags, not because I needed bags, but because I thought I was helping this hard working artists to unload inventory so that she could retire. My plan was to give them to family members for Christmas this year. These bags are of such terrible quality, not even leather, that I would not give them to anyone. The bags are shipped from 16 Overmeyer Way, Forest Park Georgia 30297. There is no phone number to contact anyone. However, when I contacted "Grace Bags" via their support email, I was told that the bags had to be shipped back to China at my expense. They also offered for me to keep the bags at a further discount. The email came from someone named HIBA. I have asked them for their EIN and license to sell goods in the United States, which they have refused to provide. I have filed a complaint with Paypal and also with my bank, and the US Consumer Affairs Division. If you receive goods from this company, file complaints everywhere. You are being defrauded. Someone has to step in. This was a clever ruse that thousands and thousands of people, just like me fell prey to.
