I got a call asking if this was (my name). They have my phone number, SS number, dob and knew I had back problems. I asked them to stop, and asked why they were calling as I did not want anything they were offering. Thy said they wanted to contact my doctor. I told them no, they would not contact my doctor. They say they are Medicare, and were sending me a back brace. I told them I don't want a back brace and not to call again. I called my doctor, and they said they were aware of the calls.

Received an early morning phone call from “Medicare”. My husband handed me his phone and said they wanted to talk to me. I assumed he had talked to the caller initially, since I didn’t hear the phone ring.

The caller indicated that she was from Medicare and wondered if I had received my new medicare card. I hadn’t received a new card. Then I was asked for the number on my current card, which I did give her. She “checked” and said that I would not be receiving a new card, that my card was good for another five years. (Don’t know why I believed her, but I did.)

She then asked me if I had knee and back issues, which I do. She indicated that Medicare would be sending me a back brace and that it would not cost me anything. I confirmed my address and phone number (giving her my phone number instead of my husband’s).

I was then “transferred” to an individual (male) who first asked me on a bad day how bad was my pain (which I said was 8). He then asked my height and weight, again confirmed my address, and again explained that there was no cost involved. I was to receive the brace with one to two weeks and would receive a follow-up call from a doctor.

I was on the phone was at least 10 minutes.

After canceling health insurance thru Healthcare.gov, my phone blew up early in the morning with fifty phone calls repeatedly with someone trying to sell me health insurance. I recognized the scam and after I got off the phone, I immediately called my bank to cancel my debit card and I changed my phone number.

They call me at least 30 times a day from 8am to 8pm everyday for the last week. They use a different phone number every time. I've told them that I don't qualify for any other services. But they keep calling. I've tried blocking them but they keep changing their numbers.

Have received over 20 calls this week from company wanting to get me to agree to order back braces and paid by Medicare. My mother had the same scam pulled on her a few years ago and they wore her down angst she ordered one. ScamPulse.com said it was legal unless purchase was refused and returned, and company didn’t return money to Medicare. A few months later business was busted for fraud. https://www.bbb.org/article/scams/13033-scam-alert-beware-of-the-medicare-back-b...

Advised me she needed to know if I had received a new Medicare card in the last two weeks. I had received a similar call last week so I asked why she needed that information and also told the caller I did not trust them and before I finished that statement they hung up. The first one had Minnesota phone number but I when I went to my recents to report the telephone number was gone.

Scammers asked about medicare benefits

- Eagle River, WI, USA • Jan 06, 2024

I believe this is a scam as they tried to submit a claim to my health insurance company using my health insurance plan.

- Norfolk, NE, USA • Dec 29, 2023

The scammer call my elderly mother claiming to be from Franklin County Hospital and Medical Clinic. They asked her information about an ankle brace that they wanted to send her (which she occasionally uses one already) and that they needed her Medicare No. and her Social Security No. in order to process it. They also asked for her Primary Care Provider. Even though my mom knows not to provide this information, the scammers were very good at "pretending" to be medical personnel trying to help her with any pain she was having. I contacted Franklin Medical myself and they told me that their number has been used by scammers before and that they reported it to the ScamPulse.com Association.

Hello I am just reporting a odd buisiness down a drug dealers street owned by the black mob

- Baltimore, MD, USA

I received a Medicare Summary Notice for Part B that showed 2 charges at a total $3,980 for Urinary Catheters which I have never used, needed or ordered. I do not even live in New York. The company is listed as G&i Ortho Supply Inc. (929) 274-7766, 393 Avenue X, Ste, BROOKLYN, New York 11223-6028. Ordered by Mohammad K Ahmed.

Multiple phone calls from a foreign person claiming to represent Medicare, claiming our medical records show the need for back and knee braces. Even though we never asked for it, braces were sent and paperwork to sign allowing them to charge our insurance provider.
