Internal Revenue Service(IRS) Reports & Reviews (271)

This scammers is leaving voicemails on my 14 year old daughter's phone telling her she is going to be arrested by the cops if she doesn't call the number back. When I call it, it's an Indian sounding guy.

Called and said I was being charged with tax evasion so I told them no I’m not and hung up

And once ___ expired after that you will be taken under custody by the local cops as there are 4 serious allegations pressed on your name at this moment we would request you to get back to us so that we can discuss about this case before taking any legal action against you the numbeer to reach us is 470-440-1653.

Since I know the IRS will never call and threaten you, I called back and talked to Frank Jefferson the first time. I told him I needed to talk about the 4 allegations on me and he hung up. I called back several times and each time when I asked about the allegations and/or being arrested, they hung up on me.

- Albuquerque, NM, USA

Received a robo call stating the U.S. Government has filed a lawsuit against me for tax fraud and to call 585-582-5975 for information. I called the number and a foreign sounding voice stated a lawsuit had been filed against me and I would soon be arrested. When I started asking questions, they hung up on me.

- Raleigh, NC, USA

I was contacted by telephone stating they were with the Internal Revenue Service. Told that for a certain period of years my taxed had been filed incorrectly and I now owed money to the IRS. When I started to dispute this claim saying why had I not been sent something by mail and this made no sense, I was told if it didn't make sense he would hang up, issue an arrest warrant within 24 hours and on Monday I would appear in Federal Court. I told him this was a scam and he hung up. This has happened today December 21, 2017 and has happened a couple of times over the last few months. Always the same scenario that I will be arrested within 24 hours.

- Indialantic, FL, USA

“Internal revenue service this is a final notification call to inform you that there is an arrest warrant issued against your name and your identity so before the information is given to your state authorities kindly get back to us on 540-602-3160 I repeat it's 540-602-3160 thank you…”

I received 4 calls from 360-940-5005 and it showed Copalis Crossing, WA. They left an automated message each time "so before the warrant gets submitted to your state authority, kindly get back to us on 360-940-5005." I finally called the number and he said he was with the IRS. I immediately asked him to take me off the call list and I would be reporting to the authorities. He said "Oh, I'm really scared." and I hung up. I'm assuming he would have tried to get me to send money.

Threatened me to call today. They have filed with IRS and if I don't call asap they can come to my house or job. Ok i called back 3x same lady answered and when I got to questioning her she hung up on me.

A Message was left on my phone from Officer Ryan Smith from the IRS telling me I have committed fraudulent and unethical tax practices and if I do not call back they will take it as an offense and prosecute me. When I called back I told them they were lying fakes because IRS doesn't contact you by phone, only by letters and they hung up on me. I really don't know what they were going to try to get. I have blocked their number now.

- Ooltewah, TN, USA

I received the following voicemail today. I called back long enough to hear a fellow with an Indian accent say he was with the Internal Revenue Service. I then hung up. From the voicemail, it seems like they were going to try to scam me into thinking I had to pay, or be included in a lawsuit. I don't owe the IRS a dime. If I did, they would be contacting me via U.S.Postal Service.:

“So before we move forward with the lawsuit call us back as soon as possible on the number 347-857-7903 I repeat the number is 347-857-7903 thank you…”
