Person called and told me that a warrant for my arrest has been issued because I owe the IRS money for the last five years. I know I have filed my taxes. I know the IRS does not call people; they usually send a letter. The person had a foreign accent.

Received a call this morning from Baton Rouge, La phone # 225-341-8576 stating they were issuing a final call from the IRS for back taxes and if I didn't call a lawsuit would be forthcoming.

Message saying they are IRS and a suit will be filed against us if we don't call back.

- Holland, OH, USA

I have received 5 recorded phone calls today, supposedly from the IRS, stating they are filing a lawsuit against me, but they don't state my name specifically and, I need to call them immediately. I did not return any calls because I was aware of this scam. I am completely frustrated, though, because of the number of times they called. The first call came in at 7:37 am then, 8:37 am, 10:22 am, 12:45 pm and 2:18 pm. The number that comes up on my caller ID is 219-230-2388 and this is the number they wanted me to call back. Since I haven't received a call in the last 4 hours, I am hoping they have given up on me. The second time they called, I let the voicemail pick up as with subsequent calls. I did save the recorded message.

Was called with a recording saying the IRS was suing me. It told me to call 202-413-5117. They hung up on me 3 times before someone would talk with me. Gave them my name. The lady said we owed $5900 in back taxes from 08 or 13. I asked for documentation of these charges. That's when she got really aggressive and said a police officer would show up in 45 minutes. I explained that I was not disputing these charges as this was the first I had heard of them but I was not going to pay anything until I had documentation. That is when she hung up on me. The name she gave was Susan Lewis. Employee number IRM 7370. ScamPulse.com was very helpful and told me that the IRS does not contact people by phone. Thanks BBB!

I received call from Baton Rouge LA phone number 225-590-5777 today Jan 6,2016 stating that they were the IRS and had been trying to reach me that my taxes had been filed incorrectly and that I owed back taxes. I knew before it went any further that it was a scam for one reason IRS would not call by phone and also my daughter had received the same kind of call day before. She also lives in same town as me.

Person called and left message that I was being sued by the IRS. I returned the call and spoke with an "Officer Garcia" (barely spoke English) and was told I was being sued for unpaid taxes from the years 2010 - 2014 in the amount of $4,986.73. I inquired why I was not notified prior to being sued and was told that I had been notified but that I did not respond to the notification and therefore, further steps were being taken against me. I stated that I didn't think this sounded correct, that something seemed off with the entire situation, and that I felt the IRS would have notified me by mail of the problem. He told me I had received mail but never responded. He also stated that someone came to my home in October 2015 but that I was not available to speak with them at that time. He stated that my bank accounts were frozen, that my house would be seized, and that officers in Lucas County would be on the way to my home within 2 hours to take me into custody as a warrant had been issued for my arrest. At this point, I stated that I was at work and could not talk any longer and that I would have to call him back to further discuss the situation. At this point, "Officer Garcia" hung up on me.

The initial call came into my cell phone at 8:56 a.m. 1/6/16.

I returned the call at 9:15 a.m. on 1/6/16 from which the above conversation is noted.

I received a call from the US Treasury telling me it was urgent that I call them. I called the number and spoke to Alex *** with a heavy *** accent. Alex said they have been trying to reach me about taxes that I owe the IRS. I asked a lot of questions, so he never asked me for any type of payment. He said there would be a warrant for my arrest and hung up.

Called consumer and indicated he has a debt with the IRS.

I just received an automated call to my cell from 339-987-4811 claiming to be the IRS. They provided no name, no case file or any other specifics other than to say that the IRS was bringing a lawsuit against me and I should call them back at the above number. Of course, the IRS doesn't contact people about legal issues via a recorded general message. Just want to add this number to lists of scams.

We just had a person phone us from 209 348 9334 saying (with a heavy accent) that he was Officer Dave from the IRS and we were in deep trouble because of back taxes. Our home and everything was in jeopardy so please call him back. I erased the message because we have a very good accountant and do not owe any back taxes. Where else do we need to contact?

Received a call from the IRS threatening to sue us. The caller ID was Washington D.C. and the number was (202)247-1239. We were instructed to call them immediately
