I got an email saying they saw my resume through "Career Website." And to schedule me for interview on Microsoft Teams.

It felt fishy from the beginning. Interview scheduled at 8:30 AM an hour plus later they message me, not even call. Ask for my full name and location. After speaking. I googled and found exactly same issues when i suspected and googled her name.. Elizabeth Edon.

:( very let down.

This scammer used my email to say that I had opened account with Microsoft and I never opened an account or had ordered anything from them. And when I try to confront the individuals that’s doing this and I told them that I will open up a police report and open up a Better Business Bureau report about what they’re doing then that’s when the person hung up on me.

And again, I like to stress that never open any account. I never gave anyone permission to send me email about Microsoft I never ordered anything from these people and I just feel like these people are scamming me and using my personal email for whatever reason they’re trying to get me to do I don’t know, but they are they sound very very fishy

And the address they used was the address

I received an e-mail that said it was from Microsoft who was going to charge me $249 for an unknown service that I did not order. They had gotten into my checking account. The man,Samuel Nelson, wanted me to go to the bank and withdraw $1500 to go and by gift cards and give him the ID numbers on the back.I did go to the bank but did not take any money out.Instead I closed this checking account and opened a ew along with a new debit card.

I was on my computer checking Facebook notifications when my screen flashed a message saying my computer was infected and they were the microsoft repair section and to call 888-633-9479. I called it and heard a background of non-english speaking people. I knew it wasn't the real microsoft and hung up. I unplugged my computer waited 10 minutes and turned it back on. The same screen showed up warning my not to turn off my computer and call the number listed. I have falled for this scam before so I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy. (Ihave a service contract with them) They took about 2 hours to restore all my files and fix my computer. They said this was a typical scam that hackers can use. I only have the number but maybe you can go with that and get these crooked scam artists.

Issue date 7-19-23. Says thanks for my order of windows defender and firewall protection. My email is given as my user ID. And that I will be auto charged $389.99. And that if I have questions call them.

At the end of the conversation, the guy asked for $449.00 fee in order for me be able to use the computer again. I told the male voice guy that I was going to hang up. I hung up. I unplugged the computer and left it unplugged for a couple of hours. I plugged the computer back up and the computer worked. The male voice on the phone wasn't making progress so he contacted anther male and that guy was based in Florida. My laptop was hacked and I was unable to use it. A screen appeared with a telephone number to call to fix it. I called the number and the man said "This is Microsoft how can I help you?" I foolishly allowed hime access and the computer seemed fixed. He than mentioned there some suspicious activity of financial banks so he suggested WE call my bank to discuss. I gave him the telephone number. The answering party Said " Liberty Bank how can I help you" They conned me into believong they were actually from Liberty Bank Customer service that I later found out was a lie. They said I needed to protect y remaining funds from a upcoming wire transfer that was approved using my e-mail. I never made any transfer request. So I was scared (being over 74) so plyed along. I was directed to get Target gift cards in the amount of $500 and $400 so I can make the funds "safe" Srupid me I provided the card number because they said they had to "Verify" them.

- Coram, NY, USA

Received Microsoft pop-up on my desktop that said my computer was infected with a virus and I needed to call Microsoft. When I called someone identified themselves as Sam Davis from Microsoft and told me I had a Russian virus on my computer after they asked for remote access. They then called me from a different number to get access to my phone but I realized I was being scammed and told them I would report them.

I received an email that I was selected to complete a "Microsoft Licensing Verification" assessment. Upon review with our IT company, we filled out and returned their spreadsheet (how many licenses we had of various types". This prompted another entity to reach out to me, directing me to their website. It was all a sales tactic, and they impersonated Microsoft. The original request seemed legit but it turned out to be phishing. They were very aggressive, indicating participation was mandatory and required due to our licenses.

Microsoft defender flashed an alert on the screen saying the computer was locked up and to call a number allegedly Microsoft. Anna MS id 101821766 called from 7075057415 claiming to be a MS employee and would help me solve the problem. Using the "cmd" prompt we discovered 22 apparently hacker IPs. She connected me to one of our banks where it was suggested that our identities were at risk. This person, Tony Smith, 7072326717, claimed to be the fraud manager for Wells Fargo. He proceeded to direct me to move all the money out of the account to "CoinFlip" to buy crypto currency. His number has been disconnected.

Microsoft security alert regarding virus attack. Windows blocked by a pop up banner stating not to close or click any links.

Called phone number on the pop up.

Respondent asked series of questions asking to verify email accouns and bank accounts.

Asked to download ultraviewer app to the pc. Which was done.

Appeared to have downloaded c drive content.

Then wanted cell phone access which then became red flag.

Respondent insisted he needed to be able to forward the call to the bank headoffice. Couldn't do so from a land line. He became aggressive and disrespectful.

Ended the call but unsure of damage. Likely we will be victim of ID fraud.

While browsing the internet I had a security alert pop from what seemed like Microsoft (it had what looked like their logo) locked up my computer and told me not to do anything until I contacted them at the number on the screen. I called the number and they had me download ULTRAVIEWER app so I could share my computer with them. Once they were in, they showed me some files and explained that some of the files were hacked and that they would fix them. He gave me a name, phone number, badge number, security code. He then told me to turn off my computer and he would call me back when they got rid of the hacks. He also told me not to talk to anyone about this and if I receive a call from anyone including him that I was to ask for the security code that he provided me. Fortunately, I do follow directions very well and I talked to my son about it when he got home. He convinced me that I had been Hacked and to reset my computer and change all my passwords. Unfortunately, it was 6 hours later and I don't know how much info they were able to get off my computer. I'm a very skeptical person, but they made this seem so real that I fell for it. Everybody needs to be aware that these hackers are better than you think they are. Be safe!

The phone number was 769-208-7924 - said they were Microsoft and that my computer was hacked. This was right after my computer locked up on me so I thought it was legit. They kept asking me to check my bank account for strange charges. When I only checked my account that had very little money in it. They wanted me to check other ones. I eventually hung up, as I got nervous.

I received a Microsoft letter and the IP address is blocked.

wh

Today, 10/20/21, a fake Microsoft tech support person tried to gain access to my computer following the exact same script as in the ScamPulse.com of WI Facebook post: https://fb.watch/8MDjvdqY2T/.

It began when on Google I searched and found a site related to Elavon merchant services, "www.mypaymentsinsider.com". When I selected it, I believe I was re-directed to a phony page (In hindsight, it looked unprofessional). When I clicked on that page, a bright animated screen with the Microsoft logo appeared along with a loud alarm and voice saying something like "Your computer has been locked due to suspicious activity," and on the screen it said to call a toll-free Microsoft support number 847-773-5942. (An internet search of that number lead to a Saidou Ballenger in Itasca, IL.)

When I called the number, a man with a thick Indian accent proceeded to walk me through the steps to downloading the Ultra Viewer system-sharing app. Before completing the process I realized that he was a scammer. I asked if his name was Saidou Ballenger, he said his name is Mike. After about 10 minutes of me questioning his credentials, he hung up on me.
