This website somehow linked themselves to the Secretary of State website as the tool to fill out online form. I thought I was using the official government site. Now I have to lock my personal information.

- Ridgeville, SC, USA • Jan 12, 2024

This is a site posing as a government agency. They have my SSN, home address and information.

Trying to apply for passport

- Greenwood, SC, USA • Jan 02, 2024

Website posed as a government agency required to apply for a passport.

Pretended to be a passport service

- La Crosse, WI, USA

This looks like a government site and has automatically filled buttons and it costs money. There is no address or other contact information so I wanted to report this so you folks could look into it.

- Shafter, CA, USA

The site looked just like an official US Passport site. I entered my son's social security number, and home address. After i paid, the site stated that it is not part of the US Passport. I never received a confirmation email nor receipt.

- Dalton, GA, USA

I was filling a us passaport application and they got all my information, my son's and my husband's info. I did not pay attention that it was not a gov website. I enter my credit card information thinking that I was paying for the passaport and they tried taking money about 6 times from my card. They only took 50 dlls because the bank blocked my card. They also offer a passaport insurance incase the passaport gets lost or stolen. I am sure they got a lot of people's money.

I went online to renew my passport, and clicked the first link. I thought I was renewing my passport online because this is what the site said. I put in all my personal information. I got to check out, and I was offered passport insurance if I lost it and a shipping label for sending in my passport which I opted into. ($10 and $3) I was offered expedited shipping which I opted out of. ($60) when i processed the payment the screen told me to download my passport package and sent me an email. I got an email for a "passport package", that then gave me instructions on how to submit a passport, a pre-filled form using the information i submitted, and a shipping label. Once I saw the email, I realized it was a scam. Because there, it said i had to pay another $130, and still submit this form. I paid $62 thinking that i was submitting my form for passport renewal and the fee. It made a distinction between if you are renewing or getting a New passport. This made me think that because i was only renewing, it was less expensive. There's no contact listed!

- Aberdeen, MD, USA

Form had me complete my social, address, birthdate, phone number, parents name and mother’s maiden name. They have my birthdate, marriage date, spouse name and birthdate.

- Greensboro, NC, USA

wanted to do an application for a passport renewal - searched Google, came up with this website, looked legit. typed in passport and social security number, charged for a service that's free on State Dept website. No phone or other info on company to be found.

I am writing to complain about a passport scam that I recently fell victim to by your fraudulent web page. On 3-11-2023, I entered a web site claiming to be from a reputable government agency, asking for my personal details and a payment to complete a passport application. I went ahead and entered all of my personal information along with of my family members info and made the payment as instructed. After receiving no payment conformation email of payment, I began to suspect that I had been scammed. Upon further investigation, I discovered that the organization in question did not offer any true benefit, and that the serviced provided to me were fraudulent. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated by this experience, as I have not only lost a significant amount of money but also put myself and family members information at risk. Therefore, I request that you refund me the full amount of that I paid for the passport application and destroy any personal information that you may have obtained from me during the scam. I trust that you will take this matter seriously and take the necessary. I look forward to receiving a prompt response regarding my refund and personal information. Called and no answer, emailed and no response.

I went to https://pass-travel.usa.com/us-passport assuming it was an official government site and entered my ssn, date of birth, phone and address. I used the pdf filler which was consistent with the one used by the government for passport renewal. This site charged my WellsFargo account and took my personal information. It claims online to be a third-party vendor.

The account was picked up immediately by my banking institution and reported as fraudulent. I am worried that this fraudulent company has personal information for use for other fraudulent purposes now. I reported it to the FTC (FTC Number 157697673), and put a freeze with Experian, Transunion, and Equifax.

- Memphis, TN, USA

pretended to be a federal website for passport renewal.

- Warren, RI, USA

Looks exactly like a government website to submit online passport initial application, but it isn't. They collect all of your personal information and provide you with a packet that you can send to the government, along with your picture, etc. They charge you to fill out forms that are free government forms. They fraudulently have you believe they are acting on behalf of USPS

- Mocksville, NC, USA

I thought I was filling out a government form to renew my passport. It was several days later when I realized that this website was a scam and has my personal information.

- Milwaukee, WI, USA

This firm offered to expedite the time it takes to get a passport. They provided an easy filler form. The small print at the bottom of the website says they are not affiliated with a government agency.  Note there is no address or any contact info for them.

- Roanoke, VA, USA

I filled out documents and realized that they where asking for money and then tried to call them and they would not o give me telephone number unless i was a customer.

- Orlando, FL, USA

I was searching for info on how to apply a new passport, this https://pass-travel-usa.com/us-passport/ website popped up. I thought it's secured government website so I filled out the form online and then they were asking for payment of $59.70. I thought this is part of the passport application fee so I paid via credit card.

After an hour I still didn't get the email they promised to send, so I checked my credit card and found their phone # being 321-450-7214. So I called the number and left a VM. Then a lady named Roxy V called me back and reconfirmed my email address, she sent me the confirmation email with order# and attachment which is a filled DS-11 form. I asked her to remove all my information from their system. She agreed and later she sent another email claimed that all my info is removed from their system. See attached screenshot of the email.

The website is deceiving and they charge a lot for the minimum work that I can do it on my own. More importantly, I really don't know if they steal my identity and sell the info to other scammers.

I used Google to search for info regarding renewing my passport. I thought I was connecting to the State Dept site for info. The site that opened immediately read “2022 US Passport Application “ and gave me the option to apply for renewal. It did not advertise as a business or application assistance service as I later found this site claims to be. Contacting this “business” is limited and I could not reach anyone today to try and sort this out. I am sick to my stomach because I clearly trusted the process when I was led from my search to this “service” which has you pay to take your very personal identification information only to fill out the application for renewal which they email along with a supposed prepaid USPS shipping label. I have since purchased Identity Theft monitoring and have disputed the charges with my credit card company and canceled the card. Before this happened to me today I would have said I was sufficiently savvy on the internet. This has me shaken to my core.
