Publishers Clearing House(PCH) - Imposter Reports & Reviews (786)

- Morton, WA, USA

They called claiming I had won money from Publishers Clearing House, also claiming that the FBI was on the line, recording and listening in to the call. They said they would arrive at my door in 45 minutes to give me the check of $8.5 million, a 2017 black GMC Denali, and that I could claim $5,000 at a local Walmart. Eventually they said that I must first pay $450 to the IRS before I could claim anything. When I asked for them to confirm their legitimacy they put their "manager" on the phone, who proceeded to yell at me asking if I really wanted to claim the prize or not. Any mention of what PCH uses to confirm legitimacy of the contact, was further met by aggression.

- Milton Freewater, OR, USA

A Mr. John Kennedy called to tell me I had won 955,000.00. I would need to send 400.99 $ For registration fee and shipping and handling. The caller ID said the call was from Jamaica. I oold him I wanted to check it out first and would call him back.

- South Beloit, IL, USA

Caller stated that I won the Publishers Clearing House prize of 950 thousand dollars, trying to find out the best time that I would be home to claim my prize. My husband had also got a call earlier stating the same thing except they told him he had to pay 398 dollars up front for 1 percent of taxes and that they pick up the other 99 percent of the taxes

Person called and said that I had won $5000.00 a week for life. Said the "team" would be at my house in 30 to 45 minutes to present me with my first check for $5000.00. Asked if I had shopped at any of the list of stores he had mentioned within the last week, because that's how my name got in the system for the chance to win. Before I could get the check, I would have to register my "name" for $450.00. I said not interested and person then hung up.

Company called saying they were sending me a free watch for my recent subscription. They said I was a finalist to win $25,000. They also wanted to send me three other free subscriptions for a year. They asked if I was familiar with these magazines, I said yes, which sounded like they recorded it. I then said I didn't want anything from them and hung up. They knew my name when they called but I didn't provide any address or personal information.

- Canton, OH, USA

We didn't fall for it but just wanted to report activity

These people called and said that my mother was one of this year's yearly prize winners. They asked if they could speak with her and I told them they couldn't, if the needed to they could speak with me. They told me that she was going to win $95,000 if she sent in $300 to them in order to claim my prize money. When I told him "No!" he hung up on me.

- Boynton Beach, FL, USA

CONSTANTLY (2-3 times per day) receiving email after email. Emails alternate between telling me that I have won something,or that I am fully registered, next email will tell me I have to complete my registration or I will be eliminated from the contest, Additionally they are constantly harassing me to make another purchase.

This company is out of control, and harasses members of the public

Received a call from a Susana Duncan from Publishers Clearing House. She said I won $255,000 plus a Mercedes. She transferred me to a Matthew White who said someone would be coming to my house to deliver the prize. They asked for my package number, so that they could send my information to a lawyer. Then he asked how far away I lived from a Walmart so that I could fill out a form with 6 easy questions and then get a money gram for $610 to send to them. He asked if I was dressed and ready to answer the door for when the money arrives. He told me I had to have cash and give a money gram number to them.

- New Gloucester, ME, USA

I was told I had won second place in a recent publishers clearing house contest. I was asked to call back the number that was calling to verify the number & offer was legit. I chose to NOT call that number back.

I also reported this scam to the Maine State Attorney General's Consumer office.

- Hilo, HI, USA
