I received a letter in the mail and it says its from Publishers Clearing House addressed to me with a check from the bank HSBC in my name for $7,697. It looked real and I was still leary about this so I called the phone # on the sheet and a security code#. When I called he told me that my name was picked randomly and to go and deposit this check in my checking account and then call him back. I hesitated about this but me and my wife do send in to the Publishers Clearing House so we thought well maybe it is true. So I went to Chase Bank and decided I would open a separate checking account with this check, just in case. So I did. The manager at the bank said it was a good check so I opened it up and he said it would clear in three days. So I called back the phone # on the sheet and informed them I put it in. A couple of days later I checked back at Chase bank (they were very nice to me) and he said the check cleared. So I thought wow could this be true. I called the # back on the sheet and he said that in a couple of days they would be at my door with the balance of the winnings. When I called him back he said for me to take $4,000 from the check because it was for a lawyer and keep it in my pocket and when the come to bring me the balance I will already have that amount out for a lawyer. But I did not. Well on that next day the bank called and said the check was no good and is a fraud. So I am attaching the front and back of what they sent me because this needs to be reported. They used a reputable name that does give out winnings and someone is going to get hurt. However, I did not attach my bank receipt because its in my name. If I would have taken the money out of the bank and believed when they came to the door I would have been out $4,000 . I don't want anyone else to think this is a good thing. It might get to someone that is really in need and they take them for what they have.

I received a call from the Directory of Publisher's Clearing House. The guy was calling from Kingston Jamaica. He had me to call someone else to give them some information about myself. This person said they needed information for the IRS. I told him that I didn't know him and didn't feel comfortable giving out any personal information.

A Jamaican number which is 876-502-8234 calling claiming to be part of the publishers clearing house and trying to scam people into paying hundreds of dollars claiming it's for tax reasons. This needs to be stopped and the people should be arrested

Daughter signed up for something in the *** Mall some time ago. Recieved a call as the second place winner of a Mercedes and $1,000,000. Gift is deliverable with $400.00 to transport the vehicle from New York to her as the winner. Something was mentioned about Warner Robins as well.

Publishing Clearing House call Robert Brown by way of Jamaica info'd my 92 yr old day he had won 1.7M dlrs. I called him back to advise I knew it was a scam and he stated oh no it isn't will info. He has called twice since. The number is 876.340.4044.

Called wife on cell phone. Knew her name, first and last name. They also knew where she was. Told her that she had won the publisher clearing house sweepstake. 2.5 million dollars, and a 2015 Mercedes. But in order to collect they needed her to wisteria union them $899.99. This was some percentage of the taxes owed. They also had a voice that was disguised. Like a Computor voice. She told them that she was going to call Bbb. At that time they said to go ahead but give them a return call! They also asked her age? Hope you can do something with these guys.

Received an unsolicited phone call from a man with a heavy foreign accent. He identified himself as "David Johnson with Publisher's Clearing House (PCH) ~ you know, the one ma'am, that gives prizes to elder citizens." He called to tell me that I had won $1.8 million dollars! During the course of the conversation, he advised that the call was being monitored by the ScamPulse.com, the IRS, and Homeland Security. He stated that the cash prize was being held, since PCH could not locate the winner ~ namely, me. In order to cover the "storage fee" and release the funds for "immediate delivery", a Money Gram or Western Union wire transfer in the amount of $150 must be sent. When I confronted him over his attempts to scam, he stated, "Ma'am, you need to flush your brain." I advised that the phone number he called is on the National Do Not Call Registry and requested that he place the number on his "do not call list", and promptly ended the call.

Says it's publisher clearing house but I haven't registered. Got my number for a random drawing. Wants *** to refister to claim *** *** dollars and a car.

Received a phone call from a man today stating that I had won the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes and that he was going to send me a check. I said "No you're not" and he hung up on me!

Received a letter in the mail, written on Publishers Clearing House letterhead. The envelope had a Canadian stamp on it and the return address was the logo for The Hartford. the letter itself had replicas of many legitimate company logos with company names - Reader's Digest, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, AIA. Included in the letter was a very legitimate looking check, made out to me - *** *** - for $7,500.00 to"cover insurance and attorney fees." I was to call the claim manager, Michelle Ryan at 1-289-923-1762 BEFORE depositing the check. She would talk me through the necessary steps to claim my second place prize of two million five hundred thousand dollars! the letter stated that as required by Federal and State laws, my security code (PCH4QTR1083) and prize information must be kept strictly confidential.

Check is made out on a Union Bank check, Fremont #118, 39305 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA 94538, 16-49/1220. Account owner is FOLIO, Inc., 4633 Old Ironsides Drive, Suite 326, Santa Clara, CA 95054.

I fear that there are gullible people receiving this who will fall for it and lose a good deal of money.

They said they were publishers clearing house and I was this month's winner but I knew right away it was a scam. He tried acting like a woman as well and when I said I knew it was the same person he called me a mother [censored] and said "One day I will shake your money tree, it may not be your money tree, it could be your grandkids money tree but I will shake your money tree.

David Cooper called saying he was from publishers clearing house from phone number 1-876-7901-0409 requesting I send him western union check as i had won $850,000 and a car. I borrowed the money from my mom and was getting the check and didnt feel comfortable. he said the lawyer marsha makentire and the IRS and a rep from the company would be showing up at my house today with the check. This money was to pay the taxes. the money was to be sent to michael freeman in the west indies.

A man named David Sawyer called saying he was from Publisher's Clearing House and that I had won a large sum of money and a Mercede's. All I had to do was send him a money order or moneygram from Walmart in the amount of $800 to retrieve my prize. Scam!!

Said I won $8million dollars and a new 2016 SUV. Asked if I had a credit line. I would not give them any information. They wanted $24,000. to pay IRS. I told them I would have IRS agent, my lawyer and banker here when they delivered the check and I would pay IRS. So far they have not emailed me on my email that I don;t use very much or called back. They said they were Publishing Clearing House Phone number that came up on my caller ID: 876-252-5217. *** ***

Received a phone call from an "Unknown" number at 11:09 am claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House. The caller informed me that I had won a 3rd place price which included $250,000 lump sum of money plus $5000 a week for the rest of my life and a 2016 Jaguar. He said the prize patrol was 1 hour and 15 min away from my home in Mississippi. Asked how I was feeling to which I replied "unsure." He explained that 2 vans labeled prize patrol along along with a flat bed trailer with the Jaguar would be arriving at my home. He asked if I had seen the prize patrol commercials before to which I replied yes. He claimed that is what I could expect. He asked if I would allow media to be present or prefer to keep it confidential. I responded confidential and was immediately hung up on. A second call was received again from "unknown" at 11:20 a.m. The same man apologized for the disconnection. He said that I needed to go to a local union to fill out a claimers receipt which I would need along with a photo id when the prize patrol arrived at my door. He located the nearest Union at Walmart and asked if I would be able to get this done and be back at my house within 1 hour and 15 min. He said that I would receive a 10 digit reference # on the claimers receipt which I would give to the prize patrol. He then asked if he could send a ping to my cell phone to identify my location. I told him I was not comfortable with that. He asked why and I told him I was unsure if this was legitimate. Told him that I read online that it was a scam if a call was made notifying me of my prize. He asked what website I was looking at and I told him pch.com. He responded with you asked to remain confidential and said that is why he was required to call but if I did not need the money he understood. I then asked for his name and he responded with "I am about to give you all this money and you don't remember my name? Have you listened to anything I have said to you?" I responded with if you were a legitimate prize company about to give me money then you would not be this rude. He responded with "Oh so now you are calling me rude?" I said give me your name please because no, I did not catch it at the beginning of the call. He said his name was Michael Carter. I asked for a phone number so that I could call him back and he said it should be on your caller id. I told him it said unknown and was not. He gave me the number 876-339-2918. I told him that I would give him a call back shortly. He asked if I would call back once I got to the union. I said sure. He then said and don't forget about the fee I told you about. I said I did not hear him say anything about a fee. He said the fee pending paid for the claimer's receipt and said he believed it was $492. I told him thank you and hung up.

I received a phone call telling me I had won 85 million dollars and a car. I needed to pay the fees for the car and the money. They wanted me to send them $1,000 to cover all of their costs, but I would get it back in my winnings.

I received a letter from Publishers Clearing House telling me that I am a "pending" winner of their sweepstakes. I just need to send them in them final paperwork along with $31.00 to enter. The address on the envelop is 61-43 Springfield Blvd. # 640370, Oakland Garden NY 11364

My wife was called a few minutes ago from a man (David Collis @ 1-876-422-5629, Kingston, Jamaica) with Publishers Clearing House, to tell her that she had won $2.5 million. In order to claim this prize, she needed to wait for him to call her back this evening around 7:00 to 7:30 pm, and answer some questions. I think the whole thing is a scam but we hope it is true. (She has been entering the PCH contest)
