He messaged me out of the blue under the Instagram handle “Challengek1314” and asked me to chat with him via LINE under the alias wei_andy, a messaging app. He love bombed me and we quickly developed a virtual connection/relationship. He asked me to set up an account on crypto.com and asked me to wire funds into my account to start trading cryptocurrency. He said he would give me some “nodes” to make sure I can make some extra income. When I confronted him about the potential of our relationship being a romance scam, also called pig butchering, he became defensive and said I was calling him a liar, that I disrespected him, and he no longer cared about me. I cut off all contacts after that. I also found numerous other IG accts he set up under other handles with the same information and sometimes the same posts: @ye1982, @christophe.yacomis, @miguelped021, @pogoprout, @evilinforever, @aa_3547676, @jie465759carl. A quick Google search also shows he reached out to other women via these IG accounts with private messages, potentially targeting them for the same purpose of crypto romance scam.
