I received a phone call on my cell phone. It started with a robotic recording stating that my information had been compromised and that my identity had been retrieved by the social security department and that all further checks from SSA would be held till further investigation was completed. It stated that if I wanted to speak with an SSA agent to press "1". I pressed one and when the male individual with a very hard accent answered he identified himself as an agent with SSA. I abruptly asked "who is this really calling me?" He quickly hung up.

Received a call, supposedly from the Social Security Administration. They said there were legal issues with my number and they were watching me. They had me call someone who was supposed to be a marshal. He asked for my date of birth and social security number. I told him I didn't feel right giving that to him and he said he couldn't help me then and hung up on me. The caller's name was supposedly Max Carter.

I have been trying to apply for SSI, so I thought this person was calling from the social security office. I got a call and the person stated that he was from the SS office and that he needed my debit card number and SS number. i gave him my debit card number and he asked me have i ever been to El Paso Texas, I told him no. when he mentioned that my info had been tied to drug money I knew it was a scam. went to the bank and got the debit card information changed.

I answered a call from a local number and was told there is a warrant for me in Texas related to 4 banks where money laundering for a drug operation is taking place. I was given a name and badge number and told i can not trust anyone so not to hang up and not to disclose any information to anyone else, even my family. He knew my SSN and my old address. He said I could not call my local police station. I told him I needed to call my dad to get the $1500.00 bail that he was asking for (or else a federal marshal would show up at my house). My dad (on a third party line) had heard of this scam already and upon challenging the [censored] the fraudster hung up.

Automated voice message that says to call back regarding that my SS# has been flagged for drug trafficking and money laundering and to call back immediately or an warrant would be issued for my arrest and all my assets seized.
Wanted me to withdraw all cash from bank, go to Walmart and get a wal mart gift card. That’s how they were going to “verify” the money was mine. I had to stay on the phone with them the entire time. I got to wal mart and I started asking them questions because I was very nervous about going through with this but at the same time I didn’t want to be arrested! It was very believable. Extremely believable! She finally hung up and said they would now send over a fax to the local sheriff office and have me placed in custody until they could verify my identity and change my social security number.
Still hoping this is a scam...again, it was outrageously believable.
