Caller identified himself as David Brown (#SSA 201317). I recently retired, and I've been talking to the SSA so I wasn't suspicious. He questioned me about what accounts (credit, savings, checkings) I had but did not ask for account numbers. He informed me that my SSN and name had been used by drug traffickers in Rowlett County, Texas. He then referred me to Richard Weber (#DEA 5379). Supposedly the DEA was investigating this. He said that I would need to close all my accounts and that U.S. Marshals would come the following day (Friday) to give me a new SSN. He threatened that I would be arrested in an hour and would be in jail for 72 hours if I failed to follow the instructions. I drove to Pen Air Federal Credit Union. Weber said I would need to leave my cell phone on. As I was getting ready to go into Pen Air, Weber informed me that I would then need to return to my car; he would give me further instructions. (NOTE: Throughout this I asked about why this was happening, that I knew the government did not function this way. When I said I needed to check this, I asked if I should go to the Sheriff's office to report what I thought was a scam. He threatened the marshals would be at my door in an hour to arrest me. He also stated that my SSN had been used to open new accounts that totaled approximately $650,000.) On entering the bank, I met the greeter. Since my phone was on, I asked for a piece of paper. I wrote her a note about what was happening. She advised me that this was a scam, and I should hang up. Thanks to her and the Pen Air staff, the scammers did not get any money to me

call received from person claiming initially to be with FDLE stating I had committed a crime and had to be in court in TX on the following day and mentioned 2000 dollars but I was unclear as to whether they were asking me for money or saying I owed or had received the funds. no personal info was provided or confirmed during the call. earlier in the day a message was left from the same incoming number from a male with an asian accent and later in the day another call was received from the same number from another male claiming to be with SSA and asking me questions and pleaded with me not to tell anyone about the call to which I stated I had already informed the police. I then heard him proclaiming to others "hey, we need to get out of here, the police are coming!" it sounded like they were inside a building and there were several other voices in the background.

They called my 83 year old mother stating that they had information on her and if she didn't call them back they would freeze her social security check. So of course that scared her and she called back and gave them the last of 4 of her SSN. We contacted Monroe Police because we were told to and I am not sure what else we need to do.

My son received a voicemail message stating "Hey this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a Magistrate Judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense this is the final attempt to reach you to speak to an agent call back on 443-241-5415 I repeat then gave the number again then said Thank you." I called the number to see what was going on. The person answered stating they were from Social Security Administration. I told him I was calling on behalf of my son. I only gave his first name and date of birth. The person then asked for his SSN. I then told him I was getting in touch with the ScamPulse.com and hung up.

I get a call from the new york area saying that they were from SSA and that my social security number had been used in foreign country and that I have a lawsuit against me. They ask me for my name in which I gave them and I was asking them which foreign countries were using my number. He wanted to know my last four digits of my SS. I told him I was not comfortable about giving that information unless he tells me which foreign countries were using my numbers and for how much. He wanted to make sure he was talking to right person. I felt like if he couldn't tell me the foreign countries that were using it then he was just wanting more information about me. So, I hung up.
