The gentleman called asking for my mother ***** (she had passed on ******** *** ****) asked the caller his name and where he is calling from. He would not tell stating the fact that he needs to speak to my mom and needed to know if I was her power of attorney. He was rude and was yelling at me. I told him I was, he said I need to send the information to him to prove that I am her power of attorney. I told him that my mother had passed, and he said he was going to look it up and he couldn't give me any information due to 3rd party contact. I informed him, he did not tell me the nature of his call, his name or business. My son had called the number back and she was very rude to him. I took the phone, and I spoke to her very professional, she became rude and nasty. Asking me how did I know it was an older gentleman, I told her I was the one who was speaking with him. Told her that he was rude and tried to tell me he needed information that I am mom's power of attorney, told her she has been dead since ******** *** ****. She said well would like us to take her off the phone list. I told her yes, but still there is no law against a business telling me the nature of their call. I hung up. The elderly need to be aware of this scam call because they are targeting the elder for traveling.

I called the number thinking it was Amtrak because the guys would answer

"AMTRAK". I wanted to get the 15% off from amtrak website and not working. The guy (Andrew) said he would help. The charge was $63 but luckily I did not authorize it because I saw their questionable reviews online. I called Amtrak and they said $75 went back to my account and amtrak had a different email address than mine associated with the reservation. Unfortunately, the next day I had a charge for $180 from Amtrak and I called Amtrak but they could not verify the charge.

Reported that my phone number has been selected because I had traveled abroad and stayed at one of their resorts. Trying to get my banking information, promised me great deals. The scammer hung up cuz I left him talking, I called back and he pretended he didn't know what was going on and I'm sure it was the same guy. I believe the full was using his own personal phone number.

Caller ID shows call is local. First call, female said she was from travel service and asked if I could hear her okay. When I answered "yes", the call disconnected. Called the number and got a recording, saying I had reached customer service, but did not give name of organization. Gave option to speak to a representative, then said all were busy. Gave option to be put on their "do not call list", which I did. Second call received from same number a little over two weeks later. This time a make said he was a representive from a home security service and asked if I could hear him. This time I did not respond "yes" and the call soon disconnected. Called number back and got same recording as before.

Have received two calls from same number. Caller ID says it is from a community close to me. First call, person identified themself as representative of travel agency and asked if I could hear them okay. When I answered "yes", the call disconnected. When I called back, a recorded message said I had reached customer service, but did not say for whom. An option was given to put on "do not call list," but it obviously doesn't work.

The second call receive said they were from a home security service. Didn't give them a "yes" this time. Called the number back and got the same recorded message as before.

- Portland, OR, USA

Local phone call about travel benefits. Woman said can you hear me alright. So I said yes I hear you.

- Wahiawa, HI, USA

This was a "say yes" scam. They asked if you could hear them...not sure what they will do with my recorded voice.

- Malden, MO, USA

They called and said this is so and so and I work at a travel agency, can you hear me ok. I said yes and they paused and then went on to say they were giving away 4 vacations and then I hung up. It was a woman who called. I called back and it said wireless provider is not available. I called back from work number and a man answered and said he did not call me, and apologized.

- Kansas City, MO, USA

Received a phone call from an unknown number stated it was someone calling from a travel agency and asked if I could hear them. I said yes and there was a pause then I realized it sounded more like a recording than a real person so I hung up. I got an uneasy feeling because I remembered hearing a news story earlier this year about these types of calls trying to get you to say yes by immediately asking if you could hear them.

- Wilmington, DE, USA

Caller told me they were from a travel agency and offered a free trip. They asked me if I could hear them. I said "yes" before I had time to think. I heard something that sounded like a click. I think they recorded my voice saying "yes"

- Davenport, IA, USA

They asked if I could hear them ok. I said yes and then hung up when they kept talking.

- Camp Lejeune, NC, USA

Can you hear me scam. She called and said she was from a travel agency saying she was giving away free travel packages. Then she asked if I could hear her ok.

- Lowell, IN, USA

I answered phone and they said who they were and asked me if I was there. I said "Yes" and a recording immediately started telling me I had money left in a travel account. I realized they had me saying yes so I hung up and called AT&T to report this.

They call from phone numbers in may area. Due to my work I often take phone calls from unknown numbers, I answered the calls the first month I received them. Now they call three times in a row to override my do not disturb setting and they call multiple times a day. It is so annoying!

- Greenbrier, TN, USA

This caller said they were from a travel agency. The caller was difficult to hear at first; then asked if I could hear them (after they adjusted the headset) and of course answered "yes".

- Lexington, KY, USA

They call and ask you if you are still there wanting you to say yes.

- Blair, NE, USA

Caller asked "Can you hear me?" Possibly recorded me saying "Yes" so they could authorize false charges. I quickly said "No, I'm not interested" and hung up.

- Livingston, TX, USA

Sounded very much like a real person. Hung up after getting me to say "Yes"

- Milford, NH, USA

I received a call from 603 8194627. They asked if I could hear them and I replied yes. They disconnected. Now what should I do?

This was the "Can you hear Me? Scam. When I called number back a recorded message says survey closed.

They also said they were calling to sign you up for a sweepstakes.
