The person called and was trying to get my information, and when I asked her to verify who she was she ended the call. All I needed was some more information on who it was, it was a real call. Called the number back no one answered and it was late.

A person identifying himself as Alex texted he was interested in a car I had posted on Craigslist. He asked me to access premiumautoreport.com to provide title information. I told him I wasn't familiar with that website and that it wasn't listed among other car reporting sites like Carfax. I gave him the vin#. He asked if I had even visited the site yet. I told him I wasn't comfortable doing so. I didn't hear from him again. I checked the ScamPulse.com website and it described a scam very much like the experience I just had.

I believed I was scammed to record my voice saying “yes”. I received a called asking for me by name. thiswas not a recorded message, but a live person. I replied “Yes”, and then the call immediately disconnected.

Received the following message from phone number:

I received a robo call from *** ***. I did not answer the call. It went straight to voicemail. The voicemail was an automated system that said "There has been an identity theft. Before we take legal action against you, you must call ***." According to my phone, the call came from Nevada City, CA. I immediately moved this number to my blocked call list on my cell phone.

Received a call from a Lori Grant (606) 802-7971 (very short ring then went to voicemail) she said it was regards to a complaint notice to your attention. And that I need to call 844-793-1304 to update my address and contact info. After the 3rd attempt they would contact my HR or department responsible for payroll in an attempt to garnish my wages. She never said what company organization they were calling from. She said that this was an attempt to collect on an account that had been closed over 10 years, and that there was no statue of limitations on this account.

Texas’ four-year statute of limitations on debts works alongside the Texas Debt Collection Act. The limited time period means that debt collectors cannot sue individuals in an attempt to collect debts that are more than four years past due.

They threatened me with civil court and wage garnishment, and stating that they will contact HR at my current employment.

After all this, I still don't know who these people are. They have my personal information (SSN, birth date, name etc.)

Now I have to report ID theft with the police dept, FTC ID theft dept, and freeze my 3 credit bureau reports.

an automated phone message left on my phone saying my social security number was being used for criminal activity and legal enforcement would take place if i didn't talk to them then they would proceed with there legal proceedings. I intend to call back and tell them i am reporting them to the ScamPulse.com and the FCC after i have done so.

Computer voice claims fraud refers to above-referenced telephone number that cannot be tracked as to who they are. Threat of compliant filed at Federal courthouse and DEA and threat of arrest if you don't call back. Don't believe the federal government works this way. Sorry no call back from me.

- Fort Worth, TX, USA

I received a call from the number above. My caller ID indicated that it was coming from North Richland Hills, Texas. The person painting our house is from there so I answered the call. The woman talking asked me a question about our house, and I answered yes. She then hung up. I called back several times. The first time the same woman (Naomi) answered, kept asking me yes/no questions, and hung up when I answered with questions of my own. I called back several more times but kept getting just an automated system that let me put my phone number on their internal do not call list (which I did) or talk to an agent. Every time I selected the option of talking to an agent, the system said no one was available and gave me their email address. I did not email them.

- Oakland, CA, USA

Woman caller represents herself as being from Gifting Department (Company not mentioned) & then asks "Can you hear me?" to solicit

"yes" response.

- Wheeling, IL, USA

Caller talks until I say the word "yes" than hangs up. He knows my name, my business name and location. simpley asks if I still own the company. I answer "yes" and he hangs-up with a recording of me saying "yes". I have no idea what this will be used for but LOOK-OUT

- Kansas City, MO, USA

robocall says: Your number is being used in fraudulent activity somewhere in south Texas and press 1 to speak to an officer.

- Needville, TX, USA

I posted an add to sell some things on Craigslist. DO NOT click the box that allows your phone number to be seen, this is where I made a mistake.

I started getting tons of inquiries asking for either a Google Voice number (scam, DO NOT share that number with anyone) or I was asked if they could mail a cashiers check, which I know is a scam.

This person and several others were asking to mail me a check then have their movers come and pick up the item.

This scammer somehow used our own landline number -- at least that is what shows up in the caller ID -- it was a woman's voice reporting that "we've been trying to contact you. Your IP has been compromised in several countries and we must change it. We will be disconnecting your IP in 48 hrs."

- Chicago, IL, USA

Automated voice telling me that my Social Security number had fraudulent activity and that I needed to call 8503085629 before they began legal proceedings. They called 3 times in one day. Knowing this was a scam, I called the number to ask for my number to be removed, and the person on the line told me "no" and pretended to be an Officer of the Social Security Administration. I informed them that I would report to the Better Business Bureau.

- Lexington, KY, USA

Left message saying social security number was bad

- Whittier, CA, USA

Called and said I made a payment on my computer loan. I don’t have a computer loan. When I told him he was a scam he cursed me out and hung up on me.
