Makes you think it is social security. Left phone message of all social _____ would be frozen right away. I had two calls from 2 different numbers. The reason I left out security in the second message is because they talk so fast seems they are saying social security when they are only saying social. They left me a voice mail, it was implied by not really said. Phone numbers are 800-772-1213. 415-364-8145. Please be careful

 

The telephone number 800-772-1213 actually belongs to the Social Security Administration according to their website (https://www.ssa.gov/agency/contact/phone.html). The other phone number listed is for a Robocaller using the Social Security Administration information to try to obtain your information.

I have received at least 30 calls today from individuals claiming to be with the government and that I have won money in grants. When I asked the name of the company and their name they hang up on me. Please help this is frustrating as I am trying to cook for Thanksgiving!

A person named Michael from (a company that he said to fast, you couldn't understand) call me on 10/25/18 around 2:00pm. He started asking me if I wanted my percentage rate on credit cards lowered. He stated he could help me do this and asked how much I owe, what was my highest balance on any card, and so on. He was a bit pushy and I asked him if he was a telemarketer, and he laughed. I tried not to give any definitive answers. Then he asked me if the beginning numbers on one of my cards were xxxx-xx. At that time I told him I didn't have my credit cards with me, he said he'd call me back later and never did. After calling the BBB, they informed me that this number was not to a business.

Received an automated call, saying it was a call regarding my credit card account. Was prompted to speak with a person regarding my credit card. Once I was directed to a live person, they began asking for my credit card info. I informed them, this was a call regarding my current credit card. They asked for my credit card information again, and I said I wasn't comfortable giving this information out. They began to get pushy and asked for my information again. I asked how they got my info, and any information on my credit cards. They then hung up on me, and when I called back got a voicemail saying the voicemail box was full. Like it was a cell phone number. The number that called me was 612-239-6030

I posted a boat on Boat Trader and scammerer sent a text asking for me to send his dad an email about purchasing the boat. Once I sent the email the scammer said he only pays with Paypal and will have someone pick up the boat upon pay of the funds through pay pal.

Have received calls from this number for several months. Automated voice says it has time sensitive information for my father. On Wednesday 10/24 I answered but the call was disconnected. 10 seconds later a man called from a restricted number and apologized that I was cut off. I told him I was not my Father and that he should remove my number from his list and not call again. He immediately called again and was aggressive. I repeated to remove my number and not call again.

I have been receiving phone calls from an unnamed entity offering provide student loan forgiveness. The automated message that plays when I answer the phone states that I must act now or the offer will go away in 48 hours. Today, I tried to connect with a live person and when transferred the person asked if I was interested in loan forgiveness. When I told them that I was already enrolled in public service loan forgiveness the person hung up the phone.

I've been receiving calls from this number claiming I owe $800 for a payday loan. They claim that I am going to receive notice to appear in court. The person's name is Kathy Johnson. I have never in my life took out a payday loan.

They also told me if I didn't pay the $800 then it will go to court and I will then owe over $1500.

I couldn't get a name of this "collection" agency. I also viewed my credit report from all three bureaus and nothing shows a debt of $800. I am almost certain this is a scam or identity theft. I don't know what to do at this point.

I receive numerous phone calls from this number on land line and iPhone. The message is as follows: we have been trying to contact you for the last 6 months stating an intentional fraud and lawsuit has been filed under your name by the United States government and you may call our department at 513-666-6077. I did not make a call to this number. The image shows a person's name at bottom of voicemail. Please disregard her name. She is a personal friend.

SSN given and caller said he was Ford Stewartville. # to call back was SSA GENERAL NUMBER. SSA HAS NO RECORD OF CONTACT WITH THIS PERSON

I got a local phone call and answered it saying hello. A guy said he was with some cruise line and asked if I could hear him okay. I didn’t think about it and said umm yes. Then it went silent, I called back and got a recording of offers for cruise lines and then said I’m not interested. Then I got complete silence again. I just hung up at the time and realized that’s it’s most likely a scam. Not sure if I need to do more than just report it.
