Appears to be a "yes" scam

- Harrison, OH, USA

I received a voice mail advising the licenses on all my microsoft software had expired and ...... Unfortunately, I deleted the voice mail before I listened to the rest of it. I presumed they were going to ask for money to keep the licenses active. There is no way Microsoft would have my home number and, since I'm not a business, I am not too sure my licenses have an expiration date.

- Elgin, OK, USA

This was a robo call, they had my full name not thinking I said yes and they hung up. I called the number back twice, got two different people who gave me two different businesses, asset manager and collection company.

- Baytown, TX, USA

Got the "Can you hear me now?" phone call. It was an Unknown identity and no phone numbers showed up. However, the location was from the town I was in, so I answered it. It was an automated "Hello" 3 times that "spoke" as I said hello (talked over me), then a "Can you hear me now?"...I hung up.

- Sun City Center, FL, USA

I received a voice mail saying that my case number was CH796216, and that this was an enforcement by the US Treasury Department regarding tax fraud. They threatened pressing criminal charges unless I returned the call, the phone number was 360-612-4388. I did not call them back.

- Schofield Barracks, HI, USA

Scam about defective Apple Ipad software. Gives instructions what to do and not call Apple. Phishing scam to takeover device. Calls from 718-594-4800 & 785-350-3800.

- Huntsville, AL, USA

I received a third phone call from the District of Columbia "202-624-7409,

202-473-0136, I was told i will be receiving a $9000.00 Government Grant that i wouldn't have to pay back. They asked me if i wanted to receive the money by a bank deposit or western union? I said western union. They then gave me a number to call 206-212-1074,from New York when i called i didn't get a answer. I called back the number i received and a man answered and said I didn't receive a call from his phone number. I then looked up the ScamPulse.com and I filled out this information. Please stay safe.

- Altamonte Springs, FL, USA

I received a phone call from a local number 1-321-522-3966 from Cocoa, Florida according to the caller ID(could be a cloned cellphone). The Person announced himself as Pat from some National Medical place. He said it kind of fast and then asked if I could hear him, I said "Yes I can hear but...." and almost as soon as I said that the line cut off. Now when I call back it goes to an automated service giving 2 options of speaking to someone or being put on their internal do not call list. I chose the first option and of course, everyone is busy. It suggests calling back and suggests sending any questions to an email address, then gives out the email of [email protected]. I am unsure what happened but am betting it is not good.

- Washington, DC, USA

An automatized system asked a question to which I said "yes", the phone dropped. Then I called back and the system asked me to dial 1 to get me out of the phone lists and I did. After a quick online search, I realized that this is the method used by scam phone calls, and I may be at risk of being a victim.

- Mesa, AZ, USA

I received a call from this phone number and was asked if I could hear the person all right and answered yes and then the phone hung up. Nothing else has happened yet but I wanted to be sure that this was recorded.

My 83 year old mother received a call from a person called Mr J saying that she had won a Walmart sweepstake for 1 million dollars and they he was coming over with a lawyer and TV crew. She told him she had to call her son (which is me). When she called me a went to her house. When she called the number back it went to voicemail. When I got to her house, I called the number and a man answered saying he was Mr. J. I told him why I was calling and he just stopped talk and saying I am Mr. J over and over. I think that when she told him that she had to talk to her son, he moved on for her and did not ask for any information.

- Myrtle Beach, SC, USA

I just worry that I said "yes" to this woman who apparently was in a call center in another country. She had a strong accent.

- Orange Park, FL, USA

I received a call around 4pm 7/3/2017 and a woman identified herself as a medic specialist and said, "Can you hear me?" The first time I could barely hear her. The second time I could hear her clearly but did not reply and just hung up the phone realizing I was a target of the YES Scam!

This is the "Can you hear me Scan" that when you say Yes the scammer records it to use purchases saying you authorized it.

Scammer called at 12:21 AM and asked if I could hear them. I was drousy and watching a late movie and an not sure if I answered yes or not( so they could record it to scam me later) I asked if they realized what time it was and the man asked if I thought he could fly. I am concerned that it was the scam to record me saying yes and use it to make unauthorized changes or purchases.

- Charlotte, NC, USA

This number, and others with 704-228-81xx or 704-228-82xx numbers, repeatedly call my phone but leave no message. I have not picked up these calls. A callback to these numbers give a recording with 2 options: Option 1 to speak to a representative (which then says all representatives are busy and to email to [email protected] ), or Option 2 to remove my number from their registry. I have never continued with Option 2. I have never emailed the gmail account.

An internet search on the [email protected] found that this is a scam. They are using this number.

- Saint Petersburg, FL, USA

Yesterday we received a pre-recorded phone call from a woman identified as " Mary Patterson in reference to a Tax Credit Incentive on your Duke Energy Bill". It also referenced a reference number, which was NOT our Duke Energy Account.

I contacted Duke Energy and they would not do any robocalls regarding this. Please DO NOT contact this company since they certainly sounds like scam.

- Chillicothe, OH, USA

A man with a foreign accent called from 425-559-9868 and asked if this is Mrs W. and stupidly I said yes. He then hung up.

I'm 82 yrs old and answered a local area code number. The person asked if I could hear them and then I answered yes. They immediately hung up After I answered yes.

- Las Vegas, NV, USA

I keep getting phone calls from different numbers - only the beginning digits are always the same - *** and the last 4 digits are always different. Usually I just hang up and then block that number. But last time, I waited for the operator and when a live person came on the line I told him that I kept getting calls from his company and I wanted to be taken of the list. He said "Change your *** number. It's that simple". So rude.

- Granada Hills, CA, USA

I received a 8 messages saying that there is a problem with my IP address and I must engage customer support to fix it. The caller id said 530-322-0285 with the name Bautista E.

It was an Indian scamming company, but they won't stop calling.
