Person sends text message to phone with "Sorry for your loss"

- Indian Orchard, MA, USA

I received an automated message from 413-626-9222 that had no identified business or vendor name. The call reported an offer to reduce my credit card rate. I pressed the button to speak with a representative to be taken off the list. The agent was rude and seemed to be slurring their words. They continued to ask why I wanted to be taken off the list as I repeatedly stated that I was not interested in their services. After two minutes of back and forth I hung up and blocked the number. The whole exchange seemed suspicious and a scam.

I informed my customer that this was not from us because their account was up to date on our end. Chambers sends Invoices with our contact information, logo in an invoice format not like they sent our customer. Also I do not begin my invoices with Good Day...Our invoices like I said are more formatted...I did not click on the link because I was suspicious and did not want to catch a virus if that was the case. I informed the customer of the matter and we both ran a virus scan to check our computer.

The unidentified caller told VICTIM that her husband had been in a car accident and that he had run over the caller's brother and mother. He stated they were in the hospital and someone needed to pay the hospital bills. He was asking for $2,000 cash.

I received a phone call which my smart phone listed as being from Utah. When I answered, the person had a very pronounced India accent. When I told them their accent was too thick and I couldn't understand it, they paused and then continued to talk. I hung up. I received another phone call from the same number soon there after. This was also an India accented voice but was understandable. They said they were with computer maintenance. At that point, I said I wasn't interested and hung up. I'm sure they would have asked for a credit card but I didn't give them the chance.

someone called me at 6:30 am on 8/16/2017 from 808-348-2741 in reference to lowering my credit card interest rates. I have no credit card at all. I have a debit card mastercard but that's it. After I repeatedly told the person I don't have any credit cards, he referred to a mastercard and I told him the same thing which is true, I have no credit cards. He then hung up on me. He sounded to have a indian or middle eastern accent and the background noise of people talking was very loud. I'm not exactly sure what they were trying to get at, maybe to steal my private personal info, but he didn't get very far with me. But I wouldn't want another person to get tricked by this obvious scam.

called, phishing for "yes" answers, hung up.

- Kearney, NE, USA

Have received this call many times. I usually hang up. They tell me my warranty on car is about to run out. I don't have warrants on any of my vehicles. This time the call woke me from a nap and I thought if I answered the question about my milage I would be able to talk to a live person and tell them to take me off their call list. As soon as I said yes, the call was ended.

- Mesa, AZ, USA

Calls seem random and not on a schedule. Leaves voicemails.

- Olney, MD, USA

Call starts off with a bit of static, then a woman's voice comes on and says something like "oh, Im so sorry I was breaking up there, can you hear me now?" Then they ask several yes or no questions about "you or a family member suffering from a chronic illness, pain or any other medical conditions" several times. This is one of those scams where they get you to say "Yes" so they can authorize charges.

Phone number called me and immediately hung up. Called them back and VOIP is illegible. All that is heard is "If you want to be placed on do not call list, press 1" and then it immediately hangs up. Can't reply with "1" because it hangs up right after.

- Cameron, NC, USA

Same number called 4 times. Answered on the 4th call. The person ask if it was me on the other end. I said "yeah", they hung up right after that.

- Lynwood, CA, USA

I receive a call as well as my brother where they state that I'm in the middle of a civil suit and that unless I paid them $1600 I will have to go to court. When asked where this is from she became rude and yelling saying that I didn't want to cooperate and that they will take me to court. Went to the company website where they state that company has been out of business for a long time and anyone asking for money on their behalf is committing fraud.

- Aurora, CO, USA

The above references numbers called me several times over a fine day span. They left me messages stating I would face legal consequences if I did not call them back. Although they didn't State the name of their organization nor did they leave a contact name or phone number. I called them back and simply asked, " Why does their organization keep calling me?" And the man whom had a strong accent abruptly hung up. I decided to contact KDVR aka Fox 31 news here in Denver and they interviewed me and aired my story on yesterday's need at 5. They suggested I report this to the ScamPulse.com scam tracker; and so I did. Whomever these people need to be stopped as I personally felt threatened and harassed. And now I'm concerned they were attempting to steal my identity.

He wanted me to set up PayPal and over pay for an item I had on kijiji. He wanted to pay $500 for my $180 item. He asked I mail it overseas too. And I pay for that.

This was all on text.

- Rogers, NE, USA

I got a phone call and the caller asked a benign yes or no question in which I answered yes to. They then went on to say that I qualified for a medical alert system. When I tried to interrupt and tell them that I was not a senior citizen they just kept talking. I said No a number of times and then hung up. Because I've heard of the scams where they ask you a question like "can you hear me" and then use your "yes" answer to say that you agreed to the product I wanted to report this phone number. I do not know the name of the company just that they were selling a medical alert device.

Asking for money for exchange of Auto or more money or something of greater value.

My Father (85) keeps getting phone calls and we can not stop them.

- Troy, AL, USA

Phone call consist of recording saying that your car warranty is expiring and ask you if you would like to get further information on it. My old car was not under warranty and my new purchase is under 2 year extended so know this is a scam. The number is 1-831-200-0688

- Black Diamond, WA, USA

This automated scam encourages using "yes" based on presenting VW ownership confirmation. I owned a VW and assumed these scammers gained access to VW owners list somehow. I will be on the look out for unauthorized transactions.

- Renton, WA, USA

Company offers to lower all your credit card rates to 0% interest. They are just trying to obtain credit card information from unsuspecting individuals. I wish there was a better way to report this.
