We are receiving automated phone messages stating that the call is for my husband's sister, they state her name, and then a claim number is given. The first call was received on 10/28/2015 from 866-209-8167. The second call which was received the next day, 10/29/2015, with the same automated message, was from 866-292-7207. I tried calling the number left on the machine on 10/29/2015, however, it rings until a machine picks up and asks for you to leave a message. I went on-line to do a reverse number look-up, but unless I paid to see the information found for the number, I could not view anything other than people's comments who have received similar calls. Some commented that once an operator is connected, he/she speaks quickly and asks you to verify your social security number. Others stated the call referenced a loan never applied for. My phone number is a private, unlisted number and we block callers who block their numbers. Curious as to how they linked my sister-in-law with our number. It's a bit concerning for both parties.

left message on telephone answering system. Left a call back number which was suppose to be for the irs, but number is not a working number. Stated i owed the irs and a law suit was being filed if i did not respond and this was the final warning. I do not owe the irs anything!

My phone number has been recently bombarded with scam text messages about my disability claims. I'm not sure how they got my personal information. This company sends me at least 5-6 text messages a day and when I reply with 'STOP' it says that I will no longer receive messages from that number. Unfortunately, the company is using phone numbers from all over the country. I have tried to look up the phone numbers and they are not listed. I have called the numbers to ask them to please stop harassing me and they either hang up on me and/or say that they will take me off of their call list. This has been going on for a couple of months now. I've tried to block their numbers, but the company is using so many different phone numbers that it is impossible to block all of them. What can I do besides changing my phone number? I'm being harassed. The phone number that the text is being sent from doesn't work. The text includes a different call back number. For example, 712-587-8707 sent me a text message that says, "Please contact 916-794-0155 regarding your disability claim". The only disability claim I have is through the Veterans Affairs. This is not the Veterans Affairs offices. I'm not sure if my personal information was stolen from the VA or not. Is there anything I can do to stop this company from harassing me? Thank you!

They claim I was awarded a government grant of $9000. But I needed to send them $250.00 in order to receive this grant by western union or my bank account.

I received a threatening call claiming to be the IRS. There was a random audit done and I owed $2800. I continued to question the caller who then hung up the call.

IRS scam:

They leave a message stating that IRS is suing you. They ask you to please call them immediately.

They called from 202-657-4238.

Started receiving phone calls from 876-837-8912 (on caller ID) and caller states that I would be receiving a package from UPS, cashier's check for 1. million something and Mercedez Benz. The caller ID says the call is coming from Jamaica and when I call the number back I cannot because I do not have international calling and there is no number for the states, but he indicated to me that he is in the U.S. The caller told me his name, but I could not understand. I do not have the name of the business/organization.

Consumer received a recorded phone message stating that "this was their second notice: and the IRS would start proceedings for a lawsuit against them. Consumer was instructed to call back on a given number. They did not have the number available for this report.

Consumer received a call claiming to be the IRS, $4750. Taxes were supposed to be from 2012 and the officer would be coming to be arrested for 6 months.

I received this postcard and called the number. When the foreign guy answered the phone he said i would need to give him my visa card information for the shipping cost. I refused. He hung up on me. I googles unclaimed prizes and this is a wide known scam up North and now has made its way down here. My grandmother also received one Friday afternoon. Elders are going to fall for this. I hope someone stops this before its too late for the vulnerable. Thank you.
