WALMART Reports & Reviews (282)

I received an email stating I’d been accepted to a certain survey group, this wasn’t odd to me because I sign up and do a lot of online surveys. I decided to come back to the email later and didn’t respond then not even 10 min later I got a text stating that it was this group and asking if I received my package. I said no and they text back saying I should’ve received today, stated my address and what time the packages arrived. I went and checked and the package was indeed there. I opened it up and there was a check for $***. I was instructed on the forms included to purchase a number of money orders, gift cards and $*** would be my pay. It sounded fishy but I figured I’d feel it out a bit and texted them that it had arrived. After that they started texting and calling non stop and instructing me to go buy the items and that the money is available. Little did they know I knew for sure it was not. Although I did deposit it at first I called my bank almost immediately and told them I think it may be a scam and to flag the check. Unfortunately because I deposited it my account is now in review but luckily I called almost right after, didn’t spend any of it and thank God I was tipped off before I actually did any of the “work” they wanted me to do. The “Group” is called Walmart Survey Groups, the main person goes by “James Larry West, MD” and the phone number is 281-323-8560. The cashiers check they sent looked incredibly legitimate, with the watermark the heat activated shield and everything, this is the only reason I felt semi-OK depositing it, so be careful. The only thing that caught my attention right away was how instantly eager they were for me to go and buy the products, as well as the paperwork looking slightly unofficial. Seriously thank goodness I didn’t fall for it worse than just depositing the check and didn’t spend anything that first day or at all or things could be a lot worse for me now. I hope they get what’s coming to them.

I received a text stating that I am one of 5 WalMart shoppers from my zip code to grab up to a $1000 WalMart bank card. It stated gget it here only till 11:59: http://wallsatday.us/4t5xoz. I did not click on the link.

I received a legitimate looking packet in the mail today to be a Walmart mystery shopper. I saw a large check enclosed and had to think for a second, because I do fill out surveys and get paid for it occasionally. I have never received an amount this large and if I do get paid, it’s usually in gift card form. With some more investigating I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a SCAM!!! PLEASE DO NOT CASH a check similar to this one!!!

"Walmart"shopper for money orders, ck for $2900, told to keep $400 commission, $100 gas, extra $300 if report on business sent within 48 hrs, threatened with their Task force team follow up to my address for non compliance. Agent name Carl Raymond with ph# listed above, check on City National Bank, remitter Vilawn Mobley, routing #066004367, acct #1500000050, made out to my name.

I received the below as a text msg. from the number I indicated on this form. I actually went on the website and everything it says about the company does seem legit. I’m reporting it because I think it’s too good to be true.

Walmart' recruiting random shoppers for a quick survey earn $400 each survey conducted per week, to apply visit Shopperhr.org fill the application form. NB: fill your cell number on the application form to receive text confirmation.

I was sent a fake money order for 988.00 told to deposit into my bank account then keep 200.00 and send the rest to Natalie Roberts in the Philippines.

I called this number thinking it was Walmart help center. He said he was. I told him my problem with my order he said he would refund the cost to my account. I didn’t give him my account details. He then wanted to know how I paid for it. I told him credit card I gave him no details. He then tells me to go to my nearest Walmart and buy a $50 gift card. When I said no he then got nasty. I hung up on him.

at least 2 times weekly for the last 6 weeks I have gotten email notice of "my Walmart account was used to make an order " that could be picked up in 4 hours", OR ..."for a gift of $200" ..."if I did not make the order follow us (sic) immediately and click here to cancel..." oddly enough after many of these on and on I STILL do not have any Walmart account so I am just really not sure whose account they are talking about but it isn't mine, nor anyone else's I fear. please do not fall victim to this nonsensicle and ridiculous scam!

I received a packet, priority mail, that had a survey with instructions on it for a Secret shopper at Walmart. Included is a check for $2,850 and instructions to deposit the check immediately into my bank account. Then I was supposed to go ASAP to Walmart to purchase 3 iTunes gift cards for $100.00 each, 3 money orders for $750.00 each and then the other $300 was supposed to be my pay.

I texted the number and the guy told me to hurry, ASAP to the bank and then text him as soon as I got to the parking lot at Walmart. I got the gift cards, but I did not peel the number like they told me to.

About 5 days after the fact, my Credit Union called to tell me that the check was a fake.

Honestly, I am not sure how I got this in the first place. I was looking for part-time jobs and doing some random inquiries and I thought I may have signed up for something with Wal-Mart. I received an email about being a part-time surveyor for Wal-Mart and they requested some basic information from me so thinking I had applied or asked for more info. I responded. The "Supervisor" said they would be sending me a package in the mail and to be looking for it. I have been a secret shopper before so I thought they were going to send me some Wal-Mart products to try and "survey" the quality of them. However, I received a check for $3,682.42 from APCO Employees Credit Union with the Remitter name: Lisa Baker. I knew at this point it was a scam but I thought I would take it one step further so I could give other people more info. so I proceeded to tell "John Taylor" the recruiting officer I had received the package and ask him what the next step was to move forward. By the way, I also kept the USPS overnight delivery package that did NOT come from a John Taylor or a Wal-mart location but rather had the name and return address as follows:

David Vicari

112 S. 3rd Avenue

Laredo, MO 64652-7102

"John" sent me this email with instructions about depositing the cashier check at my bank and waiting for the funds to be available at my bank and then go ahead with the "evaluation" telling me I would get to keep $400.00 of the money for completing the surveys. And then to transfer the remaining money to:

Tom Parker

11 Avon Street

Malate, Manila

Philippines

zip code: 1004

Well, as a previously legitimate mystery shopper, I knew that there was NO WAY they would send me that much money or that they would pay me that much money or never talk to me in person. Typically, in my experience, legitimate mystery shopper assignments require you to pay for whatever it is they are asking you to do and then YOU remit receipts to them for reimbursement and a SMALL payment for services. I really couldn't help but laugh when they said I would "evaluate" the Name and "Smartness" of the staff that attended to me and there were three different names, addresses associated with this and NONE of them were associated with Wal-Mart in any way, shape, or form. I REALLY wanted to find a way to continue my investigation on the scammer but didn't think that it would be possible beyond this point. Just KNOW if it sounds too good to be true, IT IS! These desperate, unethical, without values or morals, people should be ashamed of themselves! I pray that no one gets taken by them and I worry about people who don't know better and are in desperate circumstances which is why I wish I could find additional steps to find out more and put an end to this, but sadly because it is likely someone in another country (the only kind of truth here) scams like this will continue. :(

My husband got a text saying he had won a $1,000 gift card from Walmart. According to Walmart Corporate, costomers would be notified via certified email concerning such winnings.

My wife received a text message asking her to sign up as a mystery shopper on a website (shopperhr.org). We received a check for $1850.50 from which we are told to deposit in the bank, keep $350.50 for ourselves, and then buy $1500 of Walmart gift cards. She was instructed to scratch off the area revealing the code and send pictures to a number.

I see other scams along these lines on the internet. The check is not real. There's no watermark when held up to light. I've attached images of the letter and check that she received.

Letter with check was delivered with instructions to evaluate a Walmart store, and do a money transfer

I was trying to get help with my voice mail from xfinity, and they referred me to their xfinity Mobile help number. I dialed the number I had written down: 888.936.9468 and got a recorded message that said that all operators were busy but I was eligible for a free $100 Walmart gift card if I was interested. Someone came on the line and wanted to send me this gift card, but I needed to pay $4.95 shipping. I hung up, but I assume they next would have asked for my credit card information.

I got online and found that two of the digits in the number I had written down were transposed: xfinity Mobile's help number is actually 888.936.4968 The scammers appear to be targeting xfinity Mobile customers. I reported this when I called in and suggested that they block this number in their system, as it is targeting their customers, and was told there was nothing they can do, that my best course of action would be to report this to the BBB.

I called the # on the back of my prepaid mastercard which looked like 877-770-8408 & was offered a $100 reward card from Walmart ask me name, address, phone, over & over again also all card information they did not realize it was a pre paid only $18 on it & saying if this is correct say correct finally I told them I just wanted the balance on my card. Told him this over & over - they said they would tell me at the end of call but then they hung up. I called back & again they wanted to sign me up for a $100 card - I tried to tell them I was already signed up & just wanted my balance on my card - But over & over they kept trying & would not listen - finally I said I think this is a scam & Im calling the ScamPulse.com & they hung up on me. Later I learned the correct number was 877-770-6408 at one time they transferred me to 800-373-3411 & said it was an AT&T rewards card (that's who i told it was a scam) I reported to vanilla m/c & to the ScamPulse.com - The way the m/c is stamped on front makes the phone # look like a 8 instead of 6 I just want these people stopped. They charged a $4.95 fee for s&h & it was cj=hraged to blush candles which m/c voided.

I was approached by email saying I've been selected for secret shopper. Deposit this check take 400 for yourself and the other 2200 for shopping. Get 200 in gift cards and the rest in money orders. Photo them with receipt and send to an address overnight. Email me the questionnaire once assignment is complete. Remember you're incognito.

Fake check for Walmart secret shopper. Letter signed by Tony Perelman sent multiple instructional packets out via USPS to people in IA, TX & IL. The returned address listed on the envelope came back to a law firm. A total of 3 envelopes were received by the law firm and all contained checks. The checks were not cashed so no money is lost.

I was sent a text asking if I wanted to be a secret shopper. I answered, yes. They informed me that I would be receiving $350 for my secret survey evaluation and that a package would be delivered with further instructions. I was also told to respond back immediately once I received the package. After receiving it I opened it and there was a check for $1,954.81. I immediately thought this was a fake but everyone kept telling me it was a real check. The instructions didn't seem to clear so I put the package to the side. I later received a text from the scammer asking why I had not responded. I text back that I had received it and would do the evaluation the next day. I guess I took too long as I received another text asking about my progress. A flag went off and I decided to research the company and could not find it . I sent a text asking them why do they want me to send $758 to to 2 strangers . They gave me some crazy explanation and I replied by saying that I would deposit the check but they would have to wait until it cleared before I wire transferred any funds . It took them a minute to respond. I sent them a text telling them that I believe they were trying to scam me as it was taking too long for them to respond . He eventually text back and said it was okay but wanted me to send a copy of my deposit slip. I eventually told them that they were scam artist and that I was reporting them to the FTC. I have not heard back from them since then.
