WALMART Reports & Reviews (271)

I received a letter addressed to my home address with a check from Walmart inside. The letter explains I have been chosen to become a mystery shopper for Walmart and I need to do is activate the check, provided with the letter, and complete the assignment. It then gives me a website to go to (which I provided to you) and I have to enter the user name and password to begin. It's says to deposit the check and ensure the funds are there before withdrawing the majority of the amount and proceed to a western union depot to send the money. I did not proceed after that but provided pictures for documentation.

I received a post card in my Mail box saying I was eligible to claim a reward valued at

$50.00. From Walmart. call toll free 1-800-308-7144. I have been scammed before so I called Walmart and they said it was a scam and to report it to you. it also said my reward code is 0068322. if you get this postcard, report it or just throw in trash.

I was emailed to update my credit card info or my account would be deleted with Walmart. There is no contact info at the bottom it just says from the support team?

- Tonawanda, NY, USA

I received a phone call, thinking it was a call from someone I know. A woman's voice asked "Can you hear me. I said yes then remembered this was a tool used by scammers and quickly added no I can't. The call may have originated in Dunkirk, NY. I called the number and was asked to take a survey sponsored by Walmart. I hung up.

I was contacted by phone from an individual stating that I had been listed as a reference for a friend on an employment application. This individual has been through a bone marrow transplant recently and it was unbelievable he would be applying for a job at Walmart. At one point, The caller asked about the friend's criminal record (which is nonexistent) and then asked about his bad credit. I then ended the call knowing this was some kind of scam. I then contacted the friend to confirm he had not applied for a job at Walmart. He stated that he had received the same type of call but that he did not know the individual they were asking about. I then got a call from another friend asking if I had applied for a job at Walmart. I told him no and that we should look into this as it was obviously some type of scam. All of us have caller ID, and their calls had also come from (814)899-5388. A number from a business which has been closed for 2 years and is no longer in service.

I received this letter and check in the mail . It says it is by Walmart in Arkansas and written from Wells Fargo Bank out of NC. It says for me to deposit check into a regular bank account and deduct 350.00 and take the rest out in cash. Then it is to be used for an assessment of a company. You activate check on line and then they give you the break down of how it is to be used. the check says it is for 1,991.15 Dated for April 27th 2017 it has the water marks and distinquishing marks that it says it should have. I really do not know if it is a scam or not and I would really like some one to let me know it just sounds to good to be true. I have signed up online to do surveys. But I am not sure can you please let me know

They used a different number to call my mom in Kansas saying that I have her as an emergcy contact. They told her that I was getting served and they would not tell her what it was about but they gave her a number and a case number to give to me. I called to find out what it was about and they said it was for a Walmart Chase Master Card that I own like money on. The only thing they wanted to know was the last 4 of my SS number, not thinking I gave it to them. But they did not want my address or anything like that. I called back again to find out info on the company that will be serving me and they said my mom gave them all the info they needed.

I received a call and was asked, Can you hear me? I was caught off guard, as I'd just stepped out of the shower, & instinctively said yes. Then I recalled hearing about the scam, immediately said no, & hung up.

I was told to deposit money in my account remove it and send it to peace Kadogo Herman in Calgary Alberta canada to see how MoneyGram is running in my area after a few days after I did money was withdrawn from my account which put my account at a negative balance.

They sent an email telling me to deposit their check or money order for $300-$400. Deducts wages have the rest for the evaluation. I'm not stupid enough to do this. I hope you all can stop them.

I was emailed about being a Walmart secret shopper and I would receive $300 once completed and will continue to make more as time passes . All I had to do was provide my age address and phone number and I would receive the letter that's pictured below.

Company offered me a position as a store shopper. Sent me an initial check for $1995.19. I deposited the check in my bank and then called them to discuss if this could be a scam. They asked me if they could put the check on hold until they could determine if it were legit. The next day the bank (Wells Fargo) called me and told me it was a bogus check and I send them all the information I received. They backed out the check immediately and sent it to their investigation team. I had been applying for work at home jobs when I received this. Very upsetting. After I went through all of this with the bank, I never heard back from this criminal again.

Price is not MSRP. It states it's $218 plus tax and shipping. Clearly a scam and Price Gouging. Should be investigated and warned. Item should be $34.99

Redeem Now!

_______

All of this was in a broken line box. I did fill out an offer that I thought was from Walmart for a gift card several months ago. Now, when I clicked on "Redeem Now!" a message came up: 404 File or directory not found. I thought something was wrong because 2 words were misspelled (Numder and informations). I printed it and took it to our local Walmart store and showed the manager. He said others had come in with similar letters and suggested that I contact the ScamPulse.com to get the scam known in our area.

I will click to unsubscribe on the email and delete all of them. The above address was listed at the end of the letter and location was Colorado Springs, CO 80905 US

Walmart is now requiring customers to surrender their social security numbers in order to write checks for their purchases. My bank has told me NOT to give Walmart or anybody else this information because it is NOT necessary in order to verify my identity.
