I received a call from someone with a heavy accent. He said that there was fraud on my Amazon Account, stating that someone bought someone from my account for over $1,000 dollars. He asked if I have an Amazon Store, Family Dollar or Walmart near me. In order to fix my account he wanted me to go to the store and purchase a gift card for $99.00. As soon as he asked me to buy a gift card, I hung up the phone. I don't even have an Amazon account.

I received a call on my home phone from Amazon. I did not answer. It showed unknown in my caller ID. They left a message. The caller stated someone tried to put $1400 on my Amazon account. I was to press one. I did not press any numbers. Contact phone number 706-539-6175. I called the number back. A man answered Amazon. I was stunned. I said what is this $1400 about. He said I will look it up. I did not give any information. I said you are not getting any money out of me. I started yelling and hung up. I do pay $14 a month for Amazon Prime TV.

The scammer called and stated your package will be delivered for your ipods and they will deduct 1,700 dollars for your bank account, also

they stated if you did not order this purchase press 1, when I press 1 they asked for your name ,then asked did you order any thing from amazon in the pass month, I stated no and they hung the phone up.

- Cleveland, OH, USA

I received a phone call that my Amazon account was hacked. I know this is a scam because I do not have an Amazon Account. I do not have their phone number.

Scammers call from fake US phone numbers all over the US; they claim that $599 + purchases were made to your Amazon account using the card you have on file. To have the purchases removed you must download an App to fill out a return form- what ever information you give them they will take and make purchases for themselves. These scammers spoke with accents like they were for India.

Someone called and said I had a $499.99 charge to my amazon account. They wanted to verify that I ordered an iPad. I asked for an order number and then the call got disconnected. When I called back, they wasn’t able to provide an email address associated with my amazon account, or the order number. The lady said that was unavailable, but said if I gave them my checking number they would refund me the money. Obviously a scam, but I called amazon customer support just to be sure, and they confirmed no charges have been made to my account.

I received a call from a Georgia phone number stating that a suspicious charge for $1300 Microsoft laptop on my Amazon account was stopped. I immediately hung up. Later that evening there was an attempted charge to my debit card for $1300 from Microsoft. I immediately called my bank and froze my account.

I received a call from the number provided stating that there had been a $700 suspicious purchase made on my Amazon account from Ohio. I checked my account and did not see any purchases other than ones I made myself. I informed them that I knew they were scammed and they hung up. This happens a lot in regard to Amazon purchases.

I don't have an amazon account and they are saying I owe them money. $785.00. They have called me from different numbers seven times in one afternoon.

This is the 3rd call I received from Cameron Grimes (215-432-6564) stating my amazon account was on hold due to suspicious activity & a $1400.00 dollar purchase of an I-Phone 11 on my Amazon Account! I pulled up my account yet again & asked this person where is the purchase on my account since yet again, it's not showing up on my account & he stated it was removed & hung up on me again! This is appalling that I get quite a few callers showing on my caller ID that it's a law firm, school etc...but it's a scam. Something has to be done about this as I'm sure they get through to innocent people who don't know any better & give up their information!

Thanks in Advance!!!

I keep receiving phone calls saying that my Amazon account has charges on it for either iPhones or other electronics that are high dollar. The number that shows up on my cell is either a 800 number, an unknown number, or an individuals number with area code and name listed.

The guy used The name Mark Nelson. He called me from 4 different phone numbers. Wanted me to purchase gift cards for $500, then he wanted me to deduct $1500 from my checking account which did show that Amazon was putting the money in my account. He’d send me to different stores. He said he’s trying to secure my devices from hackers. That just seemed weird to me.

On June 17, 2021 at 10:40am I received a phone call from number (786)218-6857 My Caller ID displayed the name Farina Ninfa. When I said “Hello” a recorded message said it was a call from Amazon regarding my account. That my account with Amazon was being used by a fraudulent source located in Ohio, for trying to purchase a gift card for $700. Then it said to speak to an Amazon customer service representative, Press 1. I did not press 1 however, and I ended the call. This is not the first time I’ve received this scam Amazon call playing the same exact message, but the amount being charged to my account was a different amount the other time. Curiosity got the better of me last time it called and I did press 1. Seconds later a person with a very heavy foreign accent got on the line and preceded to impersonate an Amazon employee. He knew my name already without me having to provide it, and he was trying to convince me to get on my desktop computer to get on a “secure” website address by following his directions so he could talk to me to walk me through how to stop this purchase from being made on my account. That the secure web address allowed him to be able to view everything on my computer screen at the same time as I did and we would fix it together because he was the professional Amazon customer service representative and received special training for this specific situation. ?? I ended the call immediately and wrote down his information but did not report it at the time because then we were hit by Winter Storm Uri and lost all power. :(

This is truly a devastating scam because people who are not computer savvy have no idea how dangerous this is and the people calling from “Amazon” sound very convincing. As well as when you go to search engines like Google, and search for, “Amazon Customer Service Number” the results that it provides are also fake scam websites, and click bait ads that bring you to false information and fake numbers for Amazon. And THAT is really really scary! I really hope that this organization can be brought down and criminal charges for all the mayhem, chaos, and devastating financial stealing they are doing in the name of Amazon. I can only imagine how many people a day they trick into believing they are really helping them prevent an unauthorized purchase when in actuality they are stealing all their information. This is very sickening, and heartbreaking.. I truly hope justice prevails!

Was contacted by text stating that my Amazon account had been hacked. Asked that we go to a local business and purchase gift cards and they would credit our account. These were in order to stop the hack in process.
