- Glen Allen, VA, USA

Asked me if I could here them and recorded yes

- Midlothian, VA, USA

Have learned that this is potentially one of the scams where the caller says, "Can you hear me OK" and I replied "YES" ... to which they may possibly try to use my voice to confirm a major purchase. I hung up on them after he continued to tell me I had one a trip to Disney...I actually think it was a recording...not a live person. simply reporting the possibility of the scammer phone #. Thank you.

Asked "Can you hear me?" So I hung up.

- Midlothian, VA, USA

It was "Can you hear me ok" scam call. By accident I responded "yes" and now am very concerned about the use of my voice record.

Thanks.

Man calls and asked if I can hear him ok, when I say yes he then proceeds to tell me that I was on their list for being interested in buying a home. I said I was no longer looking. He then asked if someone in my household was interesting. I said, used to be but not anymore. Then he hung up on me. I call number back to get off call list, then call back to get any info from the recording so I can report them.

At 8:46 PM (Eastern time) on Monday, February 27th, 2017, I received a phone call from a number that I did not know, (281) 829-4244. The area code is one that I recognized, so I assumed it was a friend calling (especially considering the time of the call). I answered the phone to immediate silence from the caller. After a few seconds, the caller said she was having problems with her headset and asked if I could hear her. She then proceeded to tell me that since I had previously stayed at one of her company's resorts in the past (without actually telling me which company she worked for), I qualified for a 75% reduction in price for a trip to Orlando, FL. If this was a simple telemarketing call, then it was unwarranted and un-welcomed. I believe though that this was more than a telemarketing call and that it is actually a scam. I believe the caller's initial "can you hear me now?" question was meant to elicit a "yes" response from me on a recorded line, the purpose of which could be to unscrupulously and falsely record me saying "yes" to authorizing some sort of fraudulent charge. A simple internet search of this phone number yields very similar experiences (and an almost identical script) by other consumers, thus confirming my suspicion that this caller is indeed a scammer.

Received call at 1:19p on 2/24 asking if I was a specific person. I answered, "Who's calling?" Female voice again asked if I was a specific person. I again answered, "Who's calling?" Female voice mumbled something and then asked "Can you hear me?" Unfortunately, as I had been woken from a dead sleep, I answered "Yes". Female voice then asked something to the effect of "Are you still married?" I hung up the phone. I called back the number (804)409-4420 and pressed the button to remove me from the call back list.

- Winston Salem, NC, USA

Can you hear me clearly? I hung up when I couldn't intrupt the speaker. I have now seen news coverage on this phone scam. Unfortunately I had said yes before I knew better. Hopefully the no money lost will remain true.

Scam that asked "Can you hear me" ... I said "yes I can"

Date 2/16/2017 at 12:35pm

On Feb. 17, 2017 my phone rang at around 11:30am, and I am expecting a realtor call, and pick up and it has a name with "B" and I think it is my realtor and they say something very quickly and then say "Can you hear me", I answered "YES". I immediately contacted my bank and they put a note on my account of the occurrence. I had already answered yes before realizing it could be the scam. I did not give any other information to the caller but am concerned about just what this yes answer could do in the future, even without other info???

The phone number is 804-449-7037

- Stafford, VA, USA

The caller asked to speak to my husband and I asked who was calling, he said his name was Charles and asked if I was Mrs. Schumacher, I responded by saying how can I help you, he then said "can you hear me" and I started saying "Yes I can" when the call was disconnected.

Got a call from what I believe is one of those "Yes" scams. They said there name muffled so I couldn't hear and than asked could I hear them. I said "Yes". They said I was eligible for a Disney Vacation discounted. That's all I heard before I hung up.

Said won a cruise said having problem with headset. I actually said yes to them and realized scam hung up
