Caller called at 10:18 am 2/9/17 stating "can you hear me". I responded yes. The call then proceeded to state that I was chosen for a vacation package. When I said I wasn't interested, the caller just kept talking. I realized it was just a recording and hung up. It was only after that I recalled the "can you hear me" scam that has been going around. I haven't been contacted with a demand for payment for anything but it's only been 1/2 hour since the call.

Caller waits for you to say hello, then pretends they can't hear you by saying hello again. As soon as you say yes they hang up..... I tried returning the caller back and it is a bad number that does not ring, stays silent and then makes a busy signal..... This was very likely phishing scam to see if my number was valid to receive more sales calls.

It is the answer yes scam

- Phoenix, AZ, USA

This was an attempted scam. The caller told me my warranty was about to expire, then said can you hear me? I replied "I can". She continued to talk and asked if I wanted to talk to someone regarding this. I said no because I recognized this was a scam I had heard about. When I said no the phone went dead. I had heard they were recording your voice and later using it to saying it was proof you had ordered whatever it is they are selling. I did not buy anything but I'm sure they recorded my voice.
