The man called named David Moore and said my mother and I had won $250,000 and $7000 a week for life or that we could donate to a charity. He then wanted me to buy an amazon gift card of $299.99 but I said I didn’t have that money so he gave me a routing and account number to an account to pay off my credit card to be able to purchase it and then said I had to give him the amazon gift card number to validate my prize winnings for someone to come bring our check. He also kept insisting that this was Gods gift to us and kept referring to God many many times. We contacted PCH and confirmed that they were fake and once we told him that he was doing a scam he told my mom that she was going to die and a bunch of other stuff.

So a girl in a local job group on facebook posted about a work from home job. She stated if you messaged her she would send you an application. I responded and she wanted me to add [email protected] after downloading hangouts. I messaged him and went through an interview process through the messenger. The grammar was very off and after finishing I was told that I was hired. They then stated that they needed my home address to send me a macbook for work and my paperwork. Immediately I asked fora number or a way to check legitimacy, and he tried to video chat me. He did not display his video as his picture was a white male with grey hair and glasses claiming to be from Denver, but had a very strong accent. I hung up in his face. I hope nobody has to deal with this guy.

Applied for a loan online and received a text message. Clicked on the number and called the company that identified as Eloan, James Thomas. He said that he deposited money in my account to pay the loan fees and help increase my credit. I then had to return the money on a Google gift card. What he did was disputed payments from my account and got a reversal of funds which looked like a credit. He said that they use Google cards because they have shares with Google and they work with the BBB and FDIC

I think they are from India or Pakistan. They say if you pay ahead on your direct TV bill using eBay gift cards they give you free premium channels and they do have hacked access to add the channels!

They also email and text offering iPhone for $500 but will never send. And they want green dot, Amex cards or eBay gift cards. Horrible. Don't fall for it!

The initial email was in response to an actual job posting I submitted for on ZipRecruiter.com. The email said I had been "shortlisted for an online/chat interview" and to log into Google Hangouts and confirm an appointment for 10am the next morning. I complied, the interview was brief, but somewhat what I expected for my field. She had me wait 30 minutes while she referred the information to the "hiring board," then said they wanted to hire me for $40/hr to work from home 10-30 hrs a week. This is a bit high, but not entirely out of line for an experienced employee in my field. They were going to send me some office supplies and a check to be used for a laptop and software purchased from their "accredited vendor." I gave them no information they couldn't get from my resume, they said we'd speak again tomorrow. Afterward, suspicious, I tracked down the person I supposedly talked to on LinkdIn. She did exist, and did work for the company. But they were not hiring for the job and she does not conduct interviews via chat services. The scammers posted the fake job, for a real company, used real names of HR reps from the company to contact people looking for work, and take advantage of them. It may have been an attempt to get info for ID fraud, or access to my bank account, or, the "accredited vendor" thing makes me think money laundering. Maybe all three. I'm glad I investigated further.

received call from robo caller selling general electric representing traxx security system. spoke to live person Mike Fryman who offered to install complete home security system of 2 fobs 6 window monitors 2 security cameras and a doorbell camera for 49.95 per month for 60 months. once off the phone the call back number was no good and I could not find this site on the internet.

We received a phone call with the caller claiming to be a Directv representative and offering a great discounted deal. If I paid 3 months in advance, I would get a reduced Directv monthly bill plus I would get added premium movie channels at no extra cost. But, I needed to pay using an ebay gift card; $80 per month for a total of $240; call Directv billing at 1-888-591-8916, ext 1 and pay the $240 using the ebay gift card. They gave me a promo code of DTV4179E.

I called Directv to verify and they knew nothing of this; and they said they don't partner with ebay.

I've received several phone calls from someone claiming to be from the ScamPulse.com and they claim they were employed by Microsoft to refund me an amount of $200.00 for a program I've purchased in the past; and that I can only claim this money through my computer. After getting control of my computer and going through it they switch to my bank and claim that I claimed $2000.00 instead of the $200.00 I was entitled to and that I now need to give them $1800.00 for "my mistake." I contacted my bank and they said there was no activity on my account. I have had no less than 6 of these calls. When I refused to cooperate, several layers of people try to convince me to give then my bank info and then close the con with calling me a stupid mutherf____ and an Ass____. This is just another con and I hope you catch this bunch.

I was texted from someone saying I was selected for a job and I was to get in contact with the hiring manager and download an app to talk to him. The hiring manager gave me background on the company and told me about the job i would be doing and asked for my name, address, and who i banked with. He then told me I had a check coming and i was to deposit it into my bank to use for the laptop i would work on and software to download on the computer. I knew it was too good to be true I talked to my mother and family and realized it was a scam

Person posing as a Directv representative called on my cell phone and asked if I was Charles, I said no I was his wife.then telling me I had been chosen as a long time customer and was given the opportunity to reduce my monthly bill by buying an eBay gift card for $300 and then calling the billing department at Directv (a phone number they gave me) and giving them the promo code. I would then not receive a bill for 3 months and my autopayment would be deactivated until then. Payments would start at the lower rate and continue for 20 months. I even called the Billings department number they gave me to verify it wasn’t a scam. They were very convincing. I then called Directv direct and asked for the (real) Billings department. They assured me it was a scam and would watch my account. They thanked me for notifying them.

We are looking to change our cable provider. My husband

put in to Google "Direct TV" A google ad for Direct TV comes up..under

directv.com; There is a click for Direct TV packages. We dialed the number 8775482923 We spoke with an individual named Charles.

He went over all of the deals that were available. My husband; his name is  did provide him with his social security number.

Charles then repeatedly asked for a payment to secure the offer.

The odd things with this ad and phone call are as follows:

1.) He told us that Direct TV could be activated immediately.

2.) The phone # on this website changes everytime the website is viewed. THe

877-548-2923 no longer shows up.

3.) This gentlemen Charles said that my husbands file information would not be saved for future reference.

So, we would like to have this investigated to see if this is a real vendor?

If this is a scam, what precautions should be take to be cognizant of potential identity theft?

This is a current working number that identifies itself as "Direct TV".

Sincerely,

Michelle Byrne

The representative claimed to have gotten my resume from ZipRecruiter. I did an interview via Hangouts. All expenses were to be paid by the employer. I got a start up check via FedEx. I was told to deposit the check into my deposit either through online banking or ATM, versus a teller, because the funds will be available faster. When neither worked, I made contact with my bank in person.

Did an Google search for custom football jerseys. The site had a number of jersey options for different schools. The price was consistent with other outlets but a little lower. I placed an order. There was a pop up notice that there was an issue with my payment. I noted my caps lock was on. I looked for customer service support and saw only a generic email page. That is when I did additional poking around and found support, FAQ and legal pages looked generic or copied. The tip off was that the site had Fanatics.com buttons copied for joining a club which did not work which I recognized. I had no transaction on my credit card but locked it for protection's sake.
