I was called by a man from the Direct TV phone # 800-531-5000. I was promised all sorts upgrades and fixed rate for 2 years. All i need to do was prepay my bill for 4 months at the rate of $69.99. Upfront i needed to pay $280 but the promotion requires me to go get an Amazon gift card from Walgreens for the amount and call back the specific phone # the “manager” gave me to make my payment. It’s not legit.

I received a voicemail stating I could earn $17-$32/hour posting product reviews on Amazon. I should contact AmazonProfits.co.

I received multiple phone calls that identify as AT&T customer support on my caller ID. It looked very real with AT&T log and such. I even tried to answer one of the calls, but the was a lot of clicking and noises and the call did not properly connect. Sounds very strange, since I am not even AT&T customer, why would there teck support call me 5 times per day. Seems like someone is spoofing there number to make it look like AT&T.

They called my number twice and claimed to be AT&T Fraud Prevention. They were attempting to collect information from me and when I started asking too many questions they acted like they were tracing my call.

They offered to provide 380 channels with free NFL channels and 5 premium channels for $62.50 per month (total including all equipment, taxes, fees, ) with prepayment of either 2 months or 4 months by 9PM eastern time. With 2 months prepayment will receive $50 Visa gift card or with 4 months prepayment $100 Visa gift card. To receive this deal I must purchase a Amazon gift card equal to the prepayment at the nearby 7-eleven, and provide the code to the DTV center at 888-302-5632 before 9PM. After questioning I found out that it is 9PM ET, so will need to do it before 6PM PST. Both of the people spoke with Indian accents.

How to lower my DirecTV bill to 62.50 a month, I was to buy $250 is in Amazon gift cards then call they're special billing phone number and give their billing code. I would give them the numbers for the Amazon card and codes on the back and would not be billed for four months after that my bill will be reduced to 62.50. Their call back number was 888 302 5632. Both the caller and the manager spoke with an Indian accent. The promotion code was DTV006192.

My mom sent money to my cash app and the full transaction did not go through. So, like anyone I called to understand why. I googled a number and the scammers answered the phone. They even sent a verification code to my phone to make it seem official. When I told them my information in order to get the transaction to be completed, they then took out 100.00 10 times from the person who was sending money to me. They also wiped out the entire balance of my previous cash app Visa amount. Note to cash app: PLEASE STATE ON ALL YOUR CARDS--CASH APP DOES NOT HAVE A CALL CENTER!!! PLEASE NOTE THIS ON YOUR APP AS WELL. I'm now out of over $1000.00 and I don't have anyone to talk to so that I can resolve this case. I have filed a police report and have all supporting documents. Do not give anyone your security code. Scammers were able to unlink my debit cards and wipe out all transaction histroy on the app. THIS APP IS NOT SECURE. STOP USING IT NOW!

Have received two phone calls from a "health insurance provider". The phone number given in the left message does not match what is on the company website. I got suspicious when the message requested that I call them back to update some information. While the provider name is correct, I would be the one calling should the profile need a change.

Got a call from 800-531-5000 saying if I prepaid my direct TV cable bill for 4 months I would be guaranteed a $62 cable bill for the next two years. I would have to purchase a $250 amazon gift card and pay with that card. In addition I would also receive a &100 visa gift card. I was to call 888-401-6261 and give them the card number. The person had a very thick accent, possibly from India.

I called direct TV and they had no such deal.

Consumer called:

I got a call at 8:00 pm last night from Daniel Mark who said he was with Direct TV and that I needed to turn my TV off because he needed to program my box and change my package to $120.00. I did turn off my TV and then I started raising cane with them because they said I wouldn't get my refund for another 4 months. They had my personal information and I am not sure how they had such detailed information but they probably got it from the computer.

Caller claimed to be Directv stating had to move satellite for better reception and wanted $200

call from 1 888 401- 6261. said they were from Directv & had a promotion with amazon. They were offering 4 months of extra cable channels.

since it was a promotion we had to buy an Amazon card for $250. sounded legitimate..well we called back the phone and they had the same recording as At&T. so we called Directv and Att. no one advised us it was a scam.. theyre response was" they dont always know if there are any promotions. One service rep. said she was aware of the promotion. Sounded legimate. well NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOT SCAMMED OUT OF $250.

Someone called stating they were with Direct TV and offered a promotion to lower our cable bill, and we would get all the Premium Channels for the next two years. All we had to do is purchase a Amazon Gift card, call them back at 888-401-6261 and pay for the first four months upfront using the Gift Card. When you call them back it appears that you are calling ATT Direct TV as that is what the recording states.

We called Direct TV via the number on our bill and found out this is a SCAM and Direct TV will never ask you to purchase a Gift Card to pay for a promotion or your bill.

Was looking for online position and applied with this company, the emailed me for an interview. Did an "interview" via google hangout - first flag was they said that they do background checks for potential employees but 15 minutes into interview they said I got the job. It was a work from home job and they asked for pictures of my credit card so they could deposit money for me to purchase supplies. I said no. Then they said ok, just give us the username and password for your credit card and we will add funds that way. I told them that it wasnt possible to add funds which they pushed back on. I called my credit card (Citi) and they said not to give them the info so I didnt. Then they said ok, we will just send you a check. I received it the next day and confirmed receipt via text at the number above. The person kept pushing that I needed to deposit check and send them copy of receipt and they would tell me what to purchase. I told them that I would confirm as soon as funds cleared at my bank. They kept pushing back saying basically that wasnt necessary and to just deposit it and let them know when I did. I told them again I would tell them when it cleared and they said nevermind as I cannot follow simple instructions they were going to reverse the check. I am pretty confident it was going to bounce - as I said to them, if they were a legitimate company and it was a legitimate check, they would have no problem waiting for it to clear my account. I believe they would have had me purchase some items and refund balance of check. The check is at home but it was for $4,800 if I remember correctly (at work).

We received two letters on cheap copy paper claiming to be coming from Geico. The letter said that our quote was high due to a driving record reported by a consumer reporting agency. It said to contact the agency to dispute this record. When you call the number a recording asks for your full social security number. We never asked for a quote and have no driving record.

I received a call and it showrd up on my caller ID as the correct At&T number. the information said my account had been blocked and to supply the primary account holders last four digits of their soc sec number and then asked for the 4-digit pin#. i was put on a brief hold and the music and background sounds juet.didn't sound legit and it said they had a longer than expected wait time and that they would call back at a later time and then it hung up.

I immediately dialed 611 from my cell phone and changed my pin# on all our accounta for safety reasons and was told by the At&T representative that they will never call or text you and ask for that information.

please be careful even when a number looks correct on your caller ID! these scammers are taking local cell numbers and using them to make you think you are answering a call from someone you may know and it is telemarketers or scammers!

Got a text from 866/761-4133 saying there is a promotional offer from Directv & ATT, as It had my account information called back at the number provided. They informed me that I was selected to receive 50 percent discount on my bill and that my bill for next 24 months would be $160 per month which would include the ATT mobile service and the Directv service if I paid $500 to Directv by eBAY Gift Card. The offer was only valid for today and If I paid with in the next couple of hours then I would receive $100 Visa card in the mail in 3 to 4 days. After purchase of cards I would need to call 855/683-5477 and give the number off the eBAY Gift Card. Called ATT & Directv and they don't know of this offer. Received multiple calls in the evening prodding me to buy the gift card and pay up the amount.

Automated msg- voicemail states my account had been suspended due to verification needed. To reactivate my acct press “1” or to speak to an AT&T rep press “2”.

Called AT&T they said this was not their phone call. They would not suspend for verification. I was to assume this was a fraudulent scam call.

AT&T automated call indicated we have a suspended account and repeatedly asked for my passcode. I couldn't remember it or look it up in time so then the message asked for my last 4 SSN. Unfortunately, I keyed it in then the message asked the second time and I entered the last 4 again. Afterward, they disengaged the call.

I immediately called AT&T who said many customers were contacting them about this issue and suggested I call my bank to let them know. After speaking to my bank representative, the told me several reassuring things. First, my bank has a zero liability feature that would not hold me liable if funds were fraudulently charged. Second, the said they require triple authentication for customer security that asks for three forms of confidential information. He advised me not to worry about the call but just block the number which was 855-345-0909.
